The final whistle doesn’t have to be the end of it.
A room beside the ground can be handy at five o’clock and less useful at nine. We look at the journey, the neighbourhood and the evening, as well as the bed.
For most visiting supporters, central Bromley is the sensible base: it keeps the match journey short while giving you Bromley South rail, pubs, restaurants and late-evening options. Staying farther north or east can save money or add parking, but usually weakens the post-match convenience.
A small, design-led hotel in Bromley Old Town Hall with a materially stronger recent reputation than the budget chains. It works well for supporters who want the town-centre evening and a hotel MatchdayHotels can recommend on quality, while still keeping Hayes Lane to a short bus/taxi journey.
Central Bromley location gives easy access to restaurants, pubs and shops before or after the match.
Brama itself markets the property for Bromley FC visits and states Hayes Lane is under a 10-minute bus ride away.
The match journey
Approximate straight-line distance from mapped coordinates is 1.14 miles; practical walking time is estimated around 25-30 minutes. Brama states the ground is less than a 10-minute bus ride.
The trade-off
Usually costs more than Travelodge/Premier Inn and the 23-room inventory can tighten availability.

Travelodge London Bromley Town Centre
Bromley South / town centre
The practical football-trip choice when proximity, rail and price matter most. It is beside the town centre and Bromley South, puts the direct Hayes Lane buses on the doorstep, and is one of the closest conventional hotels to the ground. The recommendation is about logistics and value rather than boutique quality.
Official Travelodge information places it about two minutes from Bromley South station.
Bromley South has direct buses 119/146/314 towards Hayes Road/Hayes Lane and is the main rail arrival point for many away supporters.

The hotel is around two minutes from Bromley South; current transport guides put Bromley South to Hayes Lane at about 15 minutes on foot, with frequent direct buses as the easier matchday option.

For the pubs & eveningMake a night of it
The Royal Bell
Bromley High Street
A restored historic High Street hotel that reopened in 2026 and makes the evening part of the stay: bar and grill, garden, café, events and guest access to selected members spaces are all in the building. It is the strongest nightlife/occasion choice, not the shortest football commute.
Directly on Bromley High Street with pubs, restaurants and evening activity around the door.
The hotel itself includes bar/dining/event spaces, so supporters do not need another journey for the evening.
The match journey
Approximate straight-line distance from Booking.com coordinates to Hayes Lane is 1.16 miles; practical walking is around half an hour. A bus/taxi via the Bromley South corridor is usually the better matchday option.
The trade-off

YOUR GROUND / YOUR STAY
Where’s the football? We’ll help with the overnight bit.
Choose the club whose ground you’re visiting. Compare the published hotel choices, then select the match to take its date into the booking partner.
Every club has a route into its guide. Published hotel depth varies; we’ll say when a shortlist is still being developed.
THREE WAYS TO MAKE A NIGHT OF IT
What matters after the match?
The same hotel won’t suit every trip. Decide what you want from the overnight stay, then weigh the compromises.
01 / THE WALK BACK
Keep the ground within reach.
A straightforward walk back can be welcome after an evening kick-off. Check the actual route, and what’s nearby once the crowds have gone.
02 / THE EVENING
Stay where the night has options.
If you want a meal and a couple of pubs after the match, a proper centre can be worth the extra journey to the turnstiles.
03 / THE RAIL ARRIVAL
Make the luggage leg easy.
A station-side base can save carrying bags across town. The useful question is how the hotel, station and ground work together.
THE SHORTLIST HAS TO EARN ITS PLACE
More gets considered than makes the page.
There’s usually a tempting option: the cheapest room, the hotel nearest the stadium, the one with the smartest photographs. None tells the whole story.
Our research considers a wider field. Some places fall away because of awkward connections, an isolated location, price or recurring concerns in reviews. The published choices come with reasons to stay and compromises worth knowing.

A COMMERCIAL LINK STILL NEEDS AN EDITORIAL REASON
The useful bit comes before the booking button.
Hotel links can earn us commission. That is how this part of the website is supported, and we explain it openly. The recommendation still needs to make sense for a football trip: where you’ll be, how you’ll get around and what you give up by choosing it.
