Matchday parking at The Nigel Eady County Ground
For sat-nav, use County Ground, County Road, Swindon SN1 2ED, then follow the directions to your chosen car park rather than driving straight to the stadium entrance. From the M4, the club directs traffic off at junction 15 via Commonhead Roundabout, Marlborough Road and Queens Drive.

Your route into The Nigel Eady County Ground
Head for the away turnstiles at the Stratton Bank end of the John Trollope Arkells Stand, rather than the club’s main ticket office. The official ground plan puts the away ticket sales point beside these entrances, so check which block and stand appear on your ticket. From the station, follow Corporation Street and Manchester Road to County Road and use the signed stadium approach. A large visiting allocation may also use the Stratton Bank, so do not assume every away ticket leads to the same entrance. Ask a steward before joining the wrong queue.
The County Ground Stadium — visiting supporters guide ↗Parking & park-and-ride
You can try to find free street parking, but there is no specific stretch near the County Ground that I can confidently recommend as unrestricted. If you want a straightforward matchday arrival, use an authorised paid car park rather than spending the final half-hour circling residential roads. Booking is worthwhile if you need to arrive close to kick-off. St Joseph’s Catholic College on Ocotal Way welcomes home and away drivers. The club lists £5 parking on a first-come, first-served basis, so arrive early and have another option ready. The walk to the away end is longer than parking immediately at the stadium; check whether it suits anyone with limited mobility. For a predictable booking, Tesco Extra on Ocotal Way has a separate YourParkingSpace product advertised for Swindon matches. It is about a six-minute walk from the ground and bookable for a chosen duration, with the normal shopper restrictions expressly excluded from paid reservations. Do not use ordinary customer parking for the game without separate permission. Spring Gardens multi-storey car park is the useful council fallback: 662 spaces and £7.50 all day, with a shorter-stay tariff too. It closes at 8.30pm on Saturdays and does not open Sundays, so use another car park for Sunday games or late Saturday plans. Fleming Way is open around the clock, but its published short-stay tariff needs care for longer visits. Allow at least four hours for parking, the walks, the match and getting back to your car. Old supporter reports name Shrivenham Road, but they cannot establish which bays are legal today. Check every sign, permit bay and yellow line; on the way home, expect traffic around County Road and the Magic Roundabout.

Coming from the Midlands, the club describes an approach via the M40, A43, A34 and A420 before Queens Drive. The Magic Roundabout sits beside the stadium, so allow extra time on busy matchdays and follow its lane markings. No specific closure for a future fixture has been independently confirmed.
If you are using Tesco’s booked parking or St Joseph’s College, navigate to Ocotal Way instead of the stadium gates. For council parking, navigate to the individual car park and keep the final walk in mind when choosing your arrival time.

Where to stay
Stay around Fleming Way, Princes Street or the station if you want a straightforward football overnight trip. From here you can walk to the County Ground and back without relying on a late bus or finding matchday parking. Leonardo Hotel Swindon and Travelodge Swindon Central both have central locations within an easy walk of the railway station. Old Town is a better choice if your evening in Swindon matters more than being near the station. It sits farther south, so expect a longer walk or taxi journey to the ground. If you are driving, do not assume hotel guest parking is available without registering: Leonardo requires registration and has a separate parking charge.
Travelodge Swindon Central ↗For the best all-round football trip, stay around Fleming Way, Princes Street or the wider town centre: the ground, railway station and central food/drink are all walkable. Choose Old Town instead if the post-match evening is a bigger priority than being beside the station; it is the stronger food-and-drink district but sits uphill to the south.
For the evening
Old Town is the clearest evening base. Current local guidance identifies Wood Street, Devizes Road, Victoria Road and High Street as the main independent restaurant, pub and bar streets. It is around a 15-minute uphill walk from the modern town centre, so the trade-off is atmosphere versus station convenience.
For the train
Swindon railway station is west of the ground and directly useful for the central hotels. Leonardo is a short walk from the station; Travelodge states about eight minutes. Old Town accommodation is less rail-convenient and involves the hill.

Bear in mind: Old Town is the better district for an evening of independent pubs, bars and restaurants; getting there means an uphill walk or short taxi/bus.

Still walkable to The County Ground for supporters happy with a roughly 15-20 minute walk.
Street/pub-night noise is a genuine issue for some rooms; a rear room is the sensible request for light sleepers.
The pub/restaurant review picture is more mixed than the accommodation review picture, particularly for food consistency.
Limited parking rather than the simpler central rail-first proposition.
