BEFORE YOU SET OFF

Put your trip together

01 · Arrive

Your route into Rodney Parade

Head for Gate 6 on Corporation Road, not Rodney Parade’s main entrance on Grafton Road. Away supporters usually sit in the covered Bisley Stand, with the uncovered end used when needed. Check your ticket for the stand allocated to your fixture. From the city-centre car parks, cross the Millennium footbridge over the River Usk towards Rodney Road, then follow the matchday approach around to Corporation Road. If arriving by car from the M4, the club’s eastern approach follows the B4237 and turns into Corporation Road; the away entrance is on the left after the former ATS garage location. Allow time to locate the smaller entrance.

02 · Before the match

The Godfrey Morgan

10-minute walk to the ground. The strongest near-ground pub recommendation. Visiting-club guides repeatedly send away supporters here, and it is far enough from the turnstiles to offer more space and food choice than the immediate stadium streets. Current guides warn that Newport pub colour and child policies vary by venue; no Godfrey Morgan-specific away-colours rule was published.

03 · Stay or head home?

Choose your base before your hotel

Stay in Newport city centre, near the railway station, Friars Walk or the river, if you are making a weekend of the match. You can walk to Rodney Parade across the River Usk and return to the same area for trains, food and an evening out, without needing a taxi to the ground.

Le Pub

Good for independent beer · small groups

A useful independent alternative to the big pub chains. Exeter's away guide explicitly lists Le Pub, and its current venue site confirms it remains active on High Street with long weekend opening.

Expect independent · live music · community owned

Before you go It is a live-music venue as well as a pub, so event days can alter the atmosphere and capacity; no football-colours policy is published.

Food & drink
Food is available, but this is primarily a bar/music venue; choose it for an independent pre-match drink rather than a guaranteed quick football-food service.

WHERE TO STAY

Where should you stay?

Compare the ground, station and town-centre hotel options for your trip.

Where to stay

Stay in Newport city centre, near the railway station, Friars Walk or the river, if you are making a weekend of the match. You can walk to Rodney Parade across the River Usk and return to the same area for trains, food and an evening out, without needing a taxi to the ground. There is little football-travel advantage in booking beside the eastern stadium approaches around Corporation Road. Choose the station side if an early train home matters. For a one-day afternoon visit, Newport is compact enough that you may not need a hotel at all; compare live prices and travel times before booking.
