What this club is really about

The older Salford story is Central, Amateurs, small crowds, volunteers and improvised football at Moor Lane. The Class of '92 era brought four promotions in five seasons, a rebuilt ground and EFL status, followed by increasingly institutional ownership. Supporters have since voted to restore orange and adopt a crest with local references, making the Ammies' own history more visible.

Why that identity still matters

Gary Neville, David Beckham and Manchester United have dominated many introductions to Salford over the past decade. Supporters also value orange shirts, Dirty Old Town, the Ammies name, Old Dead Tree, long-serving volunteers and memories of old Moor Lane. Those details keep the club closely connected to Salford's separate civic identity.

Terrace folklore

Old Moor Lane could be gloriously makeshift: one long-term supporter remembers creating noise by striking a board by hand, while cars could sometimes be parked where spectators watched from behind a goal.
