FIXTURE STORY

FOLLOW BURNLEY TO LINCOLN CITY

Lincoln is a historic city, so there is a reason to make time for the place as well as ProAmpac Stadium. An earlier arrival or a night in town gives you more of the trip than the route straight to the turnstiles. For most supporters, the lower city centre around Lincoln Central, Brayford Waterfront and the western end of the High Street is the best all-round base. It keeps the station, restaurants and bars close while leaving the stadium comfortably walkable. Choose South Park instead only when being very close to the ground matters more than having nightlife immediately outside the hotel.

Burnley are 22nd in the Championship after 11 league games, with 8 points. They started the campaign regarded as promotion and play-off contenders. They have ground to make up on that early ambition. Burnley are in the bottom three, one point behind the side immediately above the relegation places. A result here would help the effort to climb out; it would not settle the season on its own.

Lincoln City are 18th in the Championship after 11 league games, with 12 points. Set that against the summer expectation: a side likely to face a survival fight. Lincoln City are nine points off 8th and the last of the six Championship play-off places. That is a gap to work on, not a reason to assume a place is already within reach.

Over their last five recorded league games, Burnley have taken five points from a possible fifteen: one win, two draws and two defeats. Lincoln City come into the current picture with one win, one draw and three defeats across their last five league games, worth four points from a possible fifteen.

Build the day around supporting Burnley from the away end, with time to meet up before the match rather than arriving at the turnstiles in a rush. Confirm the tickets and kick-off first, then compare the return journey with an overnight stay.

Holiday Inn Express Lincoln City Centre by IHG

Brayford Park / lower city centre

This is the safest all-round MatchdayHotels recommendation for a normal Lincoln City trip. It is close enough to walk to the ground without thinking about buses or taxis, but it also keeps supporters on the useful side of town for Lincoln Central, Brayford and the lower High Street. Current review evidence is consistently strong for cleanliness, staff and comfort, and breakfast is included.

  • About a 16-minute walk to the stadium according to current hotel-location data.
  • Around an 11-minute walk from Lincoln Central, useful for rail arrivals and departures.
The match journey

A straightforward city walk; the property is about 0.67 miles from the stadium in a straight line and current hotel-location data quotes roughly 0.9 miles / 16 minutes on foot.

The trade-off

The stadium walk is practical rather than genuinely close; South Park guest houses are nearer.

Brayford Park / lower city centre

Our view

This is the safest all-round MatchdayHotels recommendation for a normal Lincoln City trip. It is close enough to walk to the ground without thinking about buses or taxis, but it also keeps supporters on the useful side of town for Lincoln Central, Brayford and the lower High Street. Current review evidence is consistently strong for cleanliness, staff and comfort, and breakfast is included. It is not the closest hotel and it is not in the middle of the waterfront bars, but it avoids the biggest compromise in either direction.

Why it suits this trip

  • About a 16-minute walk to the stadium according to current hotel-location data.
  • Around an 11-minute walk from Lincoln Central, useful for rail arrivals and departures.
  • Close enough to Brayford Waterfront and the lower city centre for food and drinks without paying the usual premium of the four-star waterfront hotels.
  • Booking.com coverage is current and substantial, with an 8.6/10 score from more than 5,000 reviews at the research date.
  • Recent Tripadvisor reviews repeatedly describe clean rooms, helpful staff and a functional, comfortable stay; breakfast is included by the hotel.

Getting to the ground

A straightforward city walk; the property is about 0.67 miles from the stadium in a straight line and current hotel-location data quotes roughly 0.9 miles / 16 minutes on foot.

Pubs and the evening

Not directly amid the waterfront bars, but close enough for an easy walk to Brayford and the lower-city food-and-drink cluster while being a little quieter for sleeping.

Arriving by train

Current hotel-location data places Lincoln Central at roughly an 11-minute walk.

The trade-offs

  • The stadium walk is practical rather than genuinely close; South Park guest houses are nearer.
  • It sits beside a busy urban road environment, and recent reviews occasionally mention motorbike/road noise.
  • Some recent guests describe parts of the property as a little tired rather than polished.
  • Hotel parking is paid rather than included.

Research price context

Sampled at roughly £90-£113 midweek and £127-£170 on normal weekends, averaging about £99 and £142 respectively. Saturday pricing is meaningfully higher and more variable.

The Old Lodge Guest House

The Old Lodge Guest House

South Park / South Common

For supporters who want to walk out of the guest house and be at the ground in minutes, this is the convincing close-to-stadium choice. It is a small Victorian guest house overlooking South Common rather than a chain hotel, and current evidence is unusually consistent: spotless rooms, strong breakfasts and attentive hosts appear again and again.

  • Only about 0.19 miles from the stadium as the crow flies; a roughly 5-7 minute street walk is realistic.
  • Visit Lincoln specifically describes it as a short distance from the football stadium and around a 15-minute walk from the city centre.
The match journey

The property is about 0.19 miles from the stadium as the crow flies and sits on South Park opposite South Common; allow roughly 5-7 minutes on local streets.

The trade-off

Only four rooms: availability can disappear well before price becomes the deciding factor.

WHY STAY HERE?

The Old Lodge Guest House

South Park / South Common

Our view

For supporters who want to walk out of the guest house and be at the ground in minutes, this is the convincing close-to-stadium choice. It is a small Victorian guest house overlooking South Common rather than a chain hotel, and current evidence is unusually consistent: spotless rooms, strong breakfasts and attentive hosts appear again and again. The reason it is not the overall recommendation is practical rather than qualitative — there are only four rooms, availability is patchy, and the main evening areas are a walk back into the centre.

Why it suits this trip

  • Only about 0.19 miles from the stadium as the crow flies; a roughly 5-7 minute street walk is realistic.
  • Visit Lincoln specifically describes it as a short distance from the football stadium and around a 15-minute walk from the city centre.
  • Booking.com was current and bookable on sampled dates, with a 9.6/10 score from more than 300 reviews at the research date.
  • Recent Tripadvisor reviews repeatedly praise spotless cleanliness, breakfast, quiet surroundings and the hosts.
  • Free nearby/on-street parking is a useful advantage for drivers.

Getting to the ground

The property is about 0.19 miles from the stadium as the crow flies and sits on South Park opposite South Common; allow roughly 5-7 minutes on local streets.

Pubs and the evening

This is a quiet ground-first location. For a post-match evening, walk back toward the lower High Street, Cornhill or Brayford rather than expecting a nightlife cluster around South Park.

Arriving by train

Roughly a 15-20 minute walk is a sensible planning allowance; the guest house is south of the station and much closer to the stadium than the main hotel cluster.

The trade-offs

  • Only four rooms: availability can disappear well before price becomes the deciding factor.
  • The main Brayford/Cornhill evening areas are not on the doorstep; expect roughly a 15-20 minute walk into the centre.
  • It is a guest house rather than a full-service hotel, so there is no large hotel bar, 24-hour-style hotel infrastructure or comparable breadth of facilities.
  • A verified standalone official hotel website could not be established during this pass, so the direct_url field is deliberately left blank rather than guessed.

Research price context

When rooms appeared, sampled normal Saturday prices were £145-£155 including the guest-house breakfast proposition. There was not enough midweek bookable inventory to publish a defensible midweek average.

Brayford Waterfront

This is the nightlife-first choice because the location does the work: it is on Brayford Wharf North, beside the waterfront restaurant-and-bar cluster, and the hotel itself has a rooftop bar. It also remains easy for the station. The compromise is that supporters pay more for that setting and still have around a 20-minute walk to the stadium.

  • Directly on Brayford Waterfront, Lincoln's easiest concentrated area for post-match food and drinks.
  • The hotel has its own rooftop bar, so the evening can continue without another journey.
The match journey

The property is about 0.82 miles from the stadium in a straight line; current hotel-location data quotes around 1.1 miles / 20 minutes on foot.

Typically dearer than Holiday Inn Express and markedly more volatile on Saturdays.

It also remains easy for the station. The compromise is that supporters pay more for that setting and still have around a 20-minute walk to the stadium. Recent reviews are broadly positive but less uniform than at Holiday Inn Express, with repeated comments around parking cost, room outlook, beds and occasional maintenance or air-conditioning issues.

Why it suits this trip

  • Directly on Brayford Waterfront, Lincoln's easiest concentrated area for post-match food and drinks.
  • The hotel has its own rooftop bar, so the evening can continue without another journey.
  • Around a 9-minute walk from Lincoln Central according to current hotel-location data.

Arriving by train

Current hotel-location data places Lincoln Central at roughly a 9-minute walk.

The trade-offs

  • Typically dearer than Holiday Inn Express and markedly more volatile on Saturdays.
  • Roughly a 20-minute walk to the ground, so this is an evening-first rather than ground-first base.
  • Parking is an extra cost and recent reviews describe it as limited or expensive.
  • Recent reviews show some inconsistency around bed comfort, air conditioning, maintenance and rooms facing brick walls or poor outlooks.

Research price context

Sampled at roughly £95-£133 midweek and £120-£231 on normal weekends, averaging about £118 and £161 respectively. The wide Saturday range matters more than the average alone.

What to expect at Lincoln City

All the key information for Burnley supporters heading to ProAmpac Stadium — from the ground and atmosphere to food, access, parking and matchday practicalities.

The ground

Burnley at Lincoln City

Stands from different phases sit within a compact city ground, with Lincoln Cathedral in the wider skyline. Work in 2026/27 is adding new matchday spaces alongside existing memorials and older structures.

Views from the away section

Stacey West views vary by seat; pillars and older geometry can affect some positions.

Why the ground matters

Sincil Bank recalls supporter fundraising, a fire that destroyed records, council ownership and a later repurchase. The Stacey West Stand remembers two supporters killed at Bradford. Those histories explain why the old name remains familiar through changes of sponsor.

Stacey West Stand

Opened in 1990, the stand honours Bill Stacey and Jim West, the two Lincoln supporters who died in the Bradford fire.

Rilmac end / Imps Territory works

The 2026 project created a major covered event/concourse area behind the Rilmac Stand and reshaped pre-match facilities.

Fan Village and screens

The 2026/27 plan moved Fan Village provision and introduced permanent big screens plus a new stadium PA; arrangements are current-season details rather than timeless ground facts.

Cathedral relationship

Supporter interpretation

The Cathedral is not inside the ground, but its presence around the city and sightlines makes the Imp identity unusually easy to read in place.

Matchday arrangements can vary by fixture. Check current information where it affects your plans.

When the Imps Go Marching In

Supporter interpretation

A club-specific adaptation in the established repertoire; cite title only, not lyrics.

Red and White Army

Supporter interpretation

A simple colour/club identity chant documented in supporter chant archives.

Dam Busters March

Lincolnshire aviation heritage turned into a football ritual; temporarily paused in 2022 and later restored after review.

Rhead-era player songs

Supporter interpretation

The Cowley period generated player-specific repertoire around figures such as Matt Rhead; useful as era colour, not permanent club liturgy.

Valley Parade remembrance

Annual remembrance of the 56, with particular significance because Lincoln supporters Bill Stacey and Jim West died in the disaster and are memorialised in a stand name.

Air-raid siren / Dam Busters build-up

A distinctive but context-sensitive tradition linked to local RAF heritage; whether and how it is used can change.

Food & drink

Burnley at Lincoln City

Lincoln is one of the easier rail away days: Lincoln Central is roughly 15–17 minutes on foot from the ProAmpac Stadium, with the High Street on the direct route and Brayford Waterfront only a short detour. For a simple train-arrival meet, The Square Sail or The Ritz work best; Witch & Wardrobe and Royal William IV suit a slower waterfront start, while the Golden Eagle is the strongest traditional pub closer to Sincil Bank.

Food and drink around the ground

At the ground, Lincoln’s Fan Village is the clearest all-in-one option because visiting supporters are explicitly welcomed alongside home fans, although its layout changed during the 2026 redevelopment. Published away-colours policies are scarce, so admission should not be treated as a guarantee on shirts for every fixture.

Food is unusually useful: Sign of the Fish by the station, Lincoln City Chippy by the ground and the Fan Village’s local-street-food tradition cover quick eating, while The Mailbox or Royal William IV suit a proper meal. Away allocations now vary between Rilmac and extra temporary/Stacey West capacity, so follow the instructions issued for your fixture.

Lincoln City Fan Village

The on-site Fan Village is the most convenient pre-match option if you do not want another pub stop before kick-off. Current independent away guidance says home and away supporters are welcomed, while club material shows a strong food, drink and family offer.

Make Lincoln Central your railway arrival point. The station is roughly a 15–17-minute walk from the ProAmpac Stadium, and the lower High Street gives you a straightforward route towards the ground. You can meet there, get something to eat near Cornhill and walk south without needing a connecting train. From the station, use High Street towards Scorer Street and Cross Street, then follow the signs around Sincil Bank to your allocated entrance.

Lincoln City Fan Village

The on-site Fan Village is the most convenient pre-match option if you do not want another pub stop before kick-off. Current independent away guidance says home and away supporters are welcomed, while club material shows a strong food, drink and family offer.

Lincoln City planned a significant Fan Village and stadium-footprint redesign for 2026/27, including moving concessions to the south-east corner. Treat the exact layout, opening time and away access as match-specific until a current club match guide confirms them.

Station to ground & away entrance

Head for the Stacey West Stand if you are following Lincoln City as a visiting supporter from late October 2026. Burnley fans have been moved there for the match on 24 October, following a safety review of the new north-east corner stand. Check the stand and turnstile printed on your ticket because the final approach can change between fixtures. From Lincoln Central, walk south by the lower High Street, Scorer Street and Cross Street towards Sincil Bank.

If you are coming from South Common, follow South Park Avenue towards Sincil Bank instead. Stewards can direct you to the correct away entrance; do not rely on the older north-east-corner instructions without checking the latest match guide.

Buses & local travel

Walking from Lincoln Central is usually easier than waiting for a local bus, because the ground is close to the lower city centre. Lincoln Bus Station sits opposite the railway station, so it is a convenient interchange if you are arriving by coach or travelling from elsewhere in Lincoln. Local buses serve the High Street, with stops around Gowts Bridge and Robey Street on the stadium side.

Check the route and last service for your fixture rather than assuming there is a dedicated football shuttle. Lincoln's separate Waitrose Park & Ride runs from Searby Road into Lincoln Bus Station, but the published last return is at 6.20pm and the service does not operate on Sundays or bank-holiday Mondays.

Parking

Burnley at Lincoln City

Book South Common if you are driving to Lincoln City and want to be close to the ground. It is normally £6 in advance or £7 on arrival, with around 250 spaces and a five-to-ten-minute walk. Booking offers more certainty than circling the streets, but check your fixture first: the club sometimes loses the common to other events. Free on-street parking is not a dependable Saturday plan.

Parking & park-and-ride

Residents' zones cover named stretches of Sincil Bank, Cross Street, Scorer Street and Sausthorpe Street, with permits required Monday to Saturday from 8am until 6pm. On Sundays and bank holidays the usual permit rule does not apply, but yellow lines, other signs and limited capacity still matter. No particular stretch has been verified as a reliable free football space.

For a paid fallback, Chaplin Street council car park is about an eleven-minute walk and currently lists £7.60 for longer stays. Tentercroft Street is around fourteen minutes away and costs £10.40 beyond four hours. On Saturdays and bank holidays, Waterside North is another public option at £5.60 beyond two hours, with a longer walk. Old club discount figures need checking before payment.

There is also genuine free parking in designated bays at Waitrose Park & Ride on Searby Road, provided you pay for the bus into town. The parking window is 7am–7pm and the last published bus back leaves Lincoln Bus Station at 6.20pm, so it does not suit evening matches. Allow at least four hours for the football visit, or longer if eating beforehand or waiting to leave.

Do not use Morrisons on Tritton Road as a free matchday car park: its listed three-hour maximum is too short for most trips. If South Common is full, go straight to a council car park rather than trying permit-controlled streets just before kick-off.

Driving & road restrictions

Use LN5 8LN for South Common parking, not the stadium postcode. Drivers arriving via the A46 or A15 should follow their chosen car park's own approach instructions, as South Common's event access is different from the normal streets around Sincil Bank. Have a second destination saved before leaving home if South Common is unavailable. Avoid using Cross Street, Sincil Bank or the narrow residential roads as a shortcut to an unbooked space.

Lincolnshire County Council installed traffic-calming and access measures around Sincil Bank during 2026, so older sat-nav routes may be misleading. Check any temporary closures for the actual fixture rather than assuming construction-phase diversions remain in force.

Worth knowing

Burnley at Lincoln City

Visitors can connect the Cathedral Imp with the city, learn the memorial meaning of Stacey West and see new facilities on a site supporters have repeatedly helped fund. Sincil Bank remains the familiar historic name through sponsorship changes.

Matchday features

Audio-descriptive commentary. Older Stacey West congestion at full allocation. Mixed historic-modern ground

The ground is still spoken of as Sincil Bank

Supporter interpretation

It signals the difference between commercial naming and supporter memory.

Imp imagery makes sense once you know the Cathedral story

Club folklore

It turns a badge from a cartoon creature into a piece of city folklore.

The Stacey West name is not disposable branding

It memorialises two Lincoln fans lost at Valley Parade and anchors an annual act of remembrance.

617 flags/drums and Dambusters references have local roots

They come from Lincolnshire's RAF history and from a fan group built in the non-League years, not from a recent marketing campaign.

The club feels in transition physically

Summer 2026 works changed concourses, fan areas, screens and other matchday infrastructure ahead of the first Championship season in 65 years.

The ProAmpac name versus 'Sincil Bank'

Supporter interpretation

Current signage and official material use the sponsored name; supporter/history conversation often does not.

Stacey West is a memorial

Knowing the origin of the name changes how the stand reads.

Imp imagery has civic roots

Club folklore

It is not simply a mascot graphic; it points back to Lincoln Cathedral and local legend.

Old ground, current rebuild

The 2026 works are among the clearest physical signs that Championship-era Lincoln is trying to grow without leaving Sincil Bank.

1895 move

Sincil Bank has been home since 1895, after John O'Gaunts.

Supporter-funded fabric

Terracing, roofs and floodlights sit inside a longer history of fans financing practical infrastructure.

1929 fire

Supporter interpretation

A stand and historic records were destroyed, then the physical stand was rebuilt within weeks.

Non-football civic use

Concerts and wartime sheepdog trials show that the ground has periodically served as a wider city venue.

Council sale and repurchase

The club sold Sincil Bank to Lincoln City Council in 1982 as part of safeguarding its future, then bought it back in 2000 as finances tightened again.

Rail, Underground & tram

Make Lincoln Central your railway arrival point. The station is roughly a 15–17-minute walk from the ProAmpac Stadium, and the lower High Street gives you a straightforward route towards the ground. You can meet there, get something to eat near Cornhill and walk south without needing a connecting train.

From the station, use High Street towards Scorer Street and Cross Street, then follow the signs around Sincil Bank to your allocated entrance. Lincoln Central has step-free access to all platforms, but that does not make the full walking route step-free. If you need assistance, arrange it with your train operator and consider a taxi from the station rank.

Coaches

Away coaches

If you are travelling on an official away coach, use the collection instructions issued by your coach organiser. Lincoln City's published visiting-coach arrangement uses South Common, reached from the southbound carriageway of Newark Road, rather than driving coaches into the narrow streets around the ground.

The usual walk from South Common follows South Park Avenue and Sincil Bank towards the away entrance. The club has described a one-way coach circulation system leaving onto South Park Avenue, but prices, coach allocations and exact collection positions should be checked for your fixture. If anyone on the coach needs level access, ask the organiser to arrange the single possible on-site accessible coach space in advance.

Accessible journeys

Arrange accessible parking or drop-off before travelling. Lincoln City's allocated on-site spaces for visiting Blue Badge holders are very limited, and visiting-club information has quoted £8 for specific fixtures. Contact Lincoln City ticketing on 01522 880011 or the Disability Liaison Officer rather than assuming a space will be available at the gate.

Lincoln Central station has step-free routes to every platform and a taxi rank outside. The club identifies a Cross Street drop-off point, while away wheelchair positions are in the Stacey West area. Audio-descriptive commentary can be arranged, and accessible toilets in the away end may require a RADAR key. Check your seat's shelter and approach route, especially in bad weather.

After the match

After the match

If you came by train, allow for a steady 15–20-minute return to Lincoln Central, plus time to leave the Stacey West area. Go back through the lower High Street rather than making a tight connection based on the final whistle alone. Check your last train before kick-off, especially for evening and cup fixtures.

If you parked at South Common, follow the stewards' route towards South Park Avenue and allow for cars leaving together. The normal parking window ends one hour after full-time, so do not plan a long meal elsewhere before retrieving your car. Drivers wanting a less pressured departure can choose a town-centre council car park, accepting the longer walk.

Return walk to Lincoln Central
Around 15–20 minutes before stadium exit delays
South Common closing rule
Car park closes one hour after full-time under published matchday arrangement
Coach outbound system
South Common coaches normally depart by one-way exit onto South Park Avenue westbound
Congestion anecdote
Supporter reports mention pressure around matchday parking; cannot infer a fixed exit time
Road changes
2026 street works and access changes mean drivers should heed stewards and live signs
Rail connections
Check last trains and service alterations for actual fixture
Best for more relaxed exit
Public paid parking farther from stadium can avoid South Common car park queue, with longer walk

Where to stay

Stay around Lincoln Central, the lower High Street or Brayford Waterfront if you want the easiest balance of football, pubs and the journey home. You can walk to the ground in roughly 15–20 minutes and return to a good choice of food and drink after the match. The lower city is easier on foot than accommodation up by the Cathedral.

South Park suits supporters who want to be closest to the stadium, but it has fewer conventional hotel and evening choices. Bailgate and the Cathedral Quarter are attractive for historic pubs and a longer visit, although their uphill location makes them a less convenient base for the game. Keep matchday parking separate from hotel parking unless your booking explicitly includes it.

Recommended overnight area
Lincoln Central / lower High Street / Brayford Waterfront
Why choose lower city
Rail arrival, restaurants, evening venues and stadium within a manageable walk
Stadium-first alternative
South Park area, closer to stadium but less concentrated nightlife
Historic alternative
Bailgate and Cathedral Quarter uphill from lower city and further from stadium
Walk from centre to ground
Approximately 15–20 minutes from Lincoln Central, depends on location

Lincoln is one of the easier rail away days: Lincoln Central is roughly 15–17 minutes on foot from the ProAmpac Stadium, with the High Street on the direct route and Brayford Waterfront only a short detour. For a simple train-arrival meet, The Square Sail or The Ritz work best; Witch & Wardrobe and Royal William IV suit a slower waterfront start, while the Golden Eagle is the strongest traditional pub closer to Sincil Bank.

BEST FORstaying by the ground · families · food and beer together · supporters avoiding another pub stop
MATCHDAY INTELLincoln’s most straightforward near-ground choice: the club’s own guide welcomes home and away fans, with food, drink and family activity together. The principle survives the 2026 redevelopment, but the physical layout has changed.
WORTH KNOWINGCheck the fixture guide for opening time and trader line-up. The 2026 redevelopment moved concessions, so older Fan Village maps are out of date.

BEST FORsupporters short on time  · watching live sport  · families eating before an afternoon match
MATCHDAY INTELA central sports pub that works well when you want food, football on screens and a straightforward stop before heading south to the stadium. Current away guidance lists it as home-and-away friendly, while the venue says children are welcome until 7pm.
WORTH KNOWINGThe venue's normal family policy allows children until 7pm; matchday admission and away colours should still be checked if travelling for a high-profile fixture.

BEST FORstaying close to the stadium  · families  · supporters wanting food as well as a drink
MATCHDAY INTELThe on-site Fan Village is the most convenient pre-match option if you do not want another pub stop before kick-off. Current independent away guidance says home and away supporters are welcomed, while club material shows a strong food, drink and family offer.
WORTH KNOWINGLincoln City planned a significant Fan Village and stadium-footprint redesign for 2026/27, including moving concessions to the south-east corner. Treat the exact layout, opening time and away access as match-specific until a current club match guide confirms them.
Royal William IV

BEST FORBrayford overnight stays · proper meal · families · groups
MATCHDAY INTELA better waterfront choice when food matters as much as beer. It has a full current menu, plenty of seating and current away guidance describes it as home-and-away friendly.
WORTH KNOWINGAway colours are not covered by a current venue policy. Allow the full walk back to Sincil Bank rather than treating it as a ground-side pub.

BEST FORtrain arrivals · early kick-offs · budget food · supporters wanting the direct route
MATCHDAY INTELThe practical High Street choice when you do not want the Brayford detour. It opens at 8am, serves a full menu and has a long record in visiting-fan guidance as a straightforward pre-match stop.
WORTH KNOWINGCurrent formal away admission and colours rules are not published. Treat the long-standing away-friendly reputation as guidance, not a guarantee for every fixture.

BEST FORLincoln Central arrivals · large groups · breakfast · Brayford overnight stays
MATCHDAY INTELThe easiest big-group meeting point for train arrivals who want to drink before walking south. Visiting-supporter guidance has repeatedly used the Brayford waterfront and specifically the Square Sail as an away-fan base.
WORTH KNOWINGThere is no current venue-published football or colours policy. Under-18s are normally permitted only until 9pm, and matchday door decisions can still vary.
PUB / BAR

The Witch & Wardrobe

BEST FORrail arrivals · waterfront drinking · cask ale · mixed groups
MATCHDAY INTELA well-established station-side away-day pub with cask ale and a strong sports following. Current local away guidance still recommends it, while the 10am Saturday opening makes it useful for early starts.
WORTH KNOWINGNo current published away-colours policy was found. It is a recognised visiting-fan option, but individual football door restrictions should still be checked for the fixture.
PUB / BAR

Golden Eagle

21 High Street, Lincoln LN5 8BD
7 min walkAway access: checkFamily friendlyLimited food
BEST FORreal-ale drinkers · a final High Street pint · supporters wanting a traditional pub
MATCHDAY INTELThe best traditional-pub lead close to the ground: up to nine cask ales, sports TV and a big garden. It has a long visiting-fan pedigree, but there is no current formal away-door policy to promise.
WORTH KNOWINGTreat away admission and colours as unconfirmed for the specific fixture. Food is limited to snacks and occasional BBQs, so eat elsewhere if a meal matters.
