BEFORE YOU SET OFF

Put your trip together

01 · Arrive

Your route into ProAmpac Stadium

Head for the Stacey West Stand if you are following Lincoln City as a visiting supporter from late October 2026. Burnley fans have been moved there for the match on 24 October, following a safety review of the new north-east corner stand. Check the stand and turnstile printed on your ticket because the final approach can change between fixtures. From Lincoln Central, walk south by the lower High Street, Scorer Street and Cross Street towards Sincil Bank. If you are coming from South Common, follow South Park Avenue towards Sincil Bank instead. Stewards can direct you to the correct away entrance; do not rely on the older north-east-corner instructions without checking the latest match guide.

02 · Before the match

Royal William IV

20-minute walk to the ground. Current menu includes a Lincolnshire Scotch egg, burgers and pub classics; Thursday's pie-and-pint offer and Sunday roasts give it more of a meal role than most away-day pubs. Away colours are not covered by a current venue policy. Allow the full walk back to Sincil Bank rather than treating it as a ground-side pub.

03 · Stay or head home?

Choose your base before your hotel

Stay around Lincoln Central, the lower High Street or Brayford Waterfront if you want the easiest balance of football, pubs and the journey home. You can walk to the ground in roughly 15–20 minutes and return to a good choice of food and drink after the match.

Good for Brayford overnight stays · proper meal

A better waterfront choice when food matters as much as beer. It has a full current menu, plenty of seating and current away guidance describes it as home-and-away friendly.

The William Foster

Good for supporters short on time · watching live sport

A central sports pub that works well when you want food, football on screens and a straightforward stop before heading south to the stadium. Current away guidance lists it as home-and-away friendly, while the venue says children are welcome until 7pm.

Expect sports pub · city centre · food

Before you go The venue's normal family policy allows children until 7pm; matchday admission and away colours should still be checked if travelling for a high-profile fixture.

The Ritz

11 min walk

Good for train arrivals · early kick-offs

The practical High Street choice when you do not want the Brayford detour. It opens at 8am, serves a full menu and has a long record in visiting-fan guidance as a straightforward pre-match stop.

Expect High Street · large capacity · early opening

Before you go Current formal away admission and colours rules are not published. Treat the long-standing away-friendly reputation as guidance, not a guarantee for every fixture.

takeaway, pizza, kebabs and chippy food

Lincoln City Chippy

3 min walk

Good for last food before entry · takeaway

The closest useful takeaway lead to the visiting entrance. Older away guides call this address Back of the Net; the current trading identity is Lincoln City Chippy, with online ordering and takeaway food.

Expect ground-side takeaway · quick food · Scorer Street

Before you go The identity changed from the older Back of the Net name and current supporter reviews are thin. Treat it as a practical takeaway, not a supporter-verified institution.

Food & drink
Current online ordering centres on takeaway food and pizza; current directory data also lists kebabs. Older football guides know the same address as Back of the Net chippy, so the trading identity has changed.

The Square Sail

20 min walk

Good for Lincoln Central arrivals · large groups

The easiest big-group meeting point for train arrivals who want to drink before walking south. Visiting-supporter guidance has repeatedly used the Brayford waterfront and specifically the Square Sail as an away-fan base.

Expect waterfront · large groups · rail-arrival meeting point

Before you go There is no current venue-published football or colours policy. Under-18s are normally permitted only until 9pm, and matchday door decisions can still vary.

Food & drink
Full Wetherspoon food menu from early morning; the value here is capacity, breakfast and an easy group rendezvous rather than a local speciality.

The Witch & Wardrobe

Good for rail arrivals · waterfront drinking

A well-established station-side away-day pub with cask ale and a strong sports following. Current local away guidance still recommends it, while the 10am Saturday opening makes it useful for early starts.

Expect waterside · sports following · cask ale

Before you go No current published away-colours policy was found. It is a recognised visiting-fan option, but individual football door restrictions should still be checked for the fixture.

University of Lincoln Fan Village

0 min walk

Good for staying by the ground · families

Lincoln’s most straightforward near-ground choice: the club’s own guide welcomes home and away fans, with food, drink and family activity together. The principle survives the 2026 redevelopment, but the physical layout has changed.

Expect mixed home and away support · stadium fan zone · family friendly

Before you go Check the fixture guide for opening time and trader line-up. The 2026 redevelopment moved concessions, so older Fan Village maps are out of date.

Food & drink
Recent official line-ups have included Lincolnshire sausage hot dogs, smash burgers, Curry Jacks curries with rice or jacket potatoes, waffles and sweet stalls. The 2026/27 catering operator changed, so exact traders should be checked per fixture.

Sign of the Fish

17 min walk

Good for train arrivals · fish and chips

The strongest independent station-side quick bite: a long-established Sincil Street chippy with dine-in and takeaway. It lets rail arrivals eat properly before joining the direct High Street walk to the ground.

Expect traditional chippy · local institution · station side

Before you go Monday–Saturday service ends at 4.30pm and it is not listed as Sunday opening, so it suits daytime arrivals rather than evening or Sunday fixtures.

The Mailbox Lincoln

15 min walk

Good for groups wanting a table · full meal

A practical city-centre meal stop rather than an away pub recommendation. It handles groups, serves food all day and current Lincoln away-day guidance rates it as a strong sit-down option before kick-off.

Expect sports pub · proper meal · city centre

Before you go No Lincoln City-specific away or colours policy was found. Families are normally welcome to dine until 6pm; booking is sensible for a group on Saturday.

Food & drink
Smash burgers, stone-baked or Detroit-style pizza, wings, loaded fries and larger sharers; current menu includes vegan, vegetarian and gluten-free choices.

stadium hot food and drinks

ProAmpac Stadium away concessions

Good for supporters already inside · basic hot food

The reliable fallback once you are inside: pies, burgers, hot dogs and soft drinks are documented in the latest detailed club away guide. The 2026 stadium rebuild and new caterer make current alcohol and exact-menu claims less certain.

Expect away end · cashless · stadium kiosk

Before you go The stadium is cashless. Alcohol evidence conflicts between 2025/26 guidance and 2026 supporter reports, so check the fixture guide rather than assuming beer is sold in your section.

Food & drink
The latest detailed club away guide lists pies, burgers, hot dogs, confectionery and soft drinks. A new 2026 catering operator and new Rilmac service point mean exact current products and prices are not yet published in one away-specific menu.

WHERE TO STAY

Where should you stay?

Choose a base for the football and the rest of your visit.

Where to stay

Stay around Lincoln Central, the lower High Street or Brayford Waterfront if you want the easiest balance of football, pubs and the journey home. You can walk to the ground in roughly 15–20 minutes and return to a good choice of food and drink after the match. The lower city is easier on foot than accommodation up by the Cathedral. South Park suits supporters who want to be closest to the stadium, but it has fewer conventional hotel and evening choices. Bailgate and the Cathedral Quarter are attractive for historic pubs and a longer visit, although their uphill location makes them a less convenient base for the game. Keep matchday parking separate from hotel parking unless your booking explicitly includes it.

Lincoln away day guide: EFL Championship 2026/27 ↗

For most supporters, the lower city centre around Lincoln Central, Brayford Waterfront and the western end of the High Street is the best all-round base. It keeps the station, restaurants and bars close while leaving the stadium comfortably walkable. Choose South Park instead only when being very close to the ground matters more than having nightlife immediately outside the hotel.

For the evening

Brayford Waterfront is the easiest cluster for post-match drinks and food, with waterside bars and restaurants around the marina. Cornhill and the lower High Street add another compact food-and-drink cluster close to the station. Bailgate and the Cathedral Quarter are better for historic pubs and atmosphere, but they are uphill and less convenient for the stadium.

For the train

Lincoln Central is beside the lower city centre and Cornhill area. The Brayford hotels are roughly a 9-15 minute walk from the station, while the stadium is around a 15-20 minute walk depending on route. This makes the station/Brayford side of the centre particularly practical for supporters arriving by train.
