FIXTURE STORY

FOLLOW BRADFORD CITY TO MK DONS

This fixture is still months away, on 8 May. Today's table is useful background, but it is not a prediction of the positions either side will hold on matchday. If Bradford City are involved in the promotion picture by then, this could be an away result with real weight behind it.

Bradford City are 3rd in League One after 11 league games, with 21 points. Set that against the summer expectation: promotion and play-off contenders.

MK Dons's last five recorded league games brought one win, two draws and two defeats: five points from a possible fifteen. Those are results available now; the form heading into this fixture may be very different.

MK Dons are 20th in League One after 10 league games, with 9 points. Before the season, they were seen as promotion and play-off contenders. They have ground to make up on that early ambition.

The destination is Stadium MK in Milton Keynes. Work back from kick-off when deciding whether this is a day trip or a night away. Check the matchday travel arrangements again nearer the fixture.

An away day is a chance to follow Bradford City somewhere different and make a proper day of the football. Check ticket access and the confirmed kick-off before booking; leave enough time either side of the game to enjoy the visit as well as support the team.

Table and form checked 22 October.

The ground

Bradford City at MK Dons

The two-tier bowl at Denbigh and Bletchley has wide concourses, padded seats, clear views and a hotel and events complex. The Cowshed and newer supporter spaces give it its most recognisable football traditions.

Why the ground matters

Stadium MK's large modern scale gives supporters excellent facilities and views, but routine crowds can leave noise spread thinly. Fuller occasions show the larger audience Milton Keynes can draw.

South Stand / Cowshed

The main vocal home end; name carried over from the National Hockey Stadium and tied to the Concrete Cows.

North Stand

Supporter interpretation

Away end in current usage. Some home supporters informally call it the 'Boycott End', but that is not an official title.

Connected bowl and padded seating

The modern layout gives generally unobstructed views and unusually comfortable seating by lower-league standards.

Accessibility

Bradford City at MK Dons

Arrange accessible parking with MK Dons before travelling if a shorter approach is essential. Stadium MK has dedicated Blue Badge bays, but these are limited, subject to payment and require matchday pre-booking. Do not assume displaying a badge alone gives free private-car-park parking. The stadium provides step-free concourse access from Gates 1–5, with lifts at Gates 6–8.

Accessible journeys

Away seating is normally in the North Stand, so ask the club to confirm the most suitable entrance, wheelchair place and drop-off for your allocation. Bletchley’s mainline platforms have step-free access, but National Rail separately flags Marston Vale platform 6 as not step-free. If that line is part of your route, arrange assistance rather than relying on the general station accessibility label.

Accessible parking
Stadium MK lists bays in W1, S1, E1, E2, N2 and N3, subject to charges and matchday pre-booking via RingGo.
Blue Badge private parking rule
Private stadium car parks apply their terms and tariffs to Blue Badge holders; the badge does not itself waive the charge.

YOUR AWAY DAY · Stadium MK

Before the match

Bradford City at MK Dons

Use Bletchley for the simplest mainline rail arrival, then follow the signposted walking route towards Stadium MK. Allow roughly 30 minutes to reach the ground, plus time to find the away entrance. Check the return train before committing to an evening match. Fenny Stratford is nearer on foot, with a walk of around 20 minutes.

Planning your arrival

Be at the stadium perimeter before the busiest turnstile period.

Rail, Underground & tram

It is on the Marston Vale line rather than the principal London–Birmingham route, so check that its trains connect conveniently in both directions before choosing it. Milton Keynes Central is a better arrival point if your train does not call at Bletchley. From there, use a bus towards the Stadium MK stop or take a taxi instead of making the much longer walk.

Recommended rail station
Bletchley for mainline services; follow ground signs and allow around 30 minutes on foot.
Alternative — Fenny Stratford
Around 20 minutes on foot; local Marston Vale services require checking for suitable connections.
Alternative — Milton Keynes Central
Mainline station; take a stadium-serving bus or taxi rather than rely on a 45–60-minute walk.
Other local station — Bow Brickhill
Exists on the local railway but is not recommended ahead of Bletchley or Fenny Stratford for most visitors.
Evening return
Check the last feasible train and any Marston Vale connection for the particular fixture.

Station to ground & away entrance

Away supporters normally use the North Stand, with Gate 3 the main arrival point. If you are driving or arriving on a coach, follow the football signs towards the Saxon Street entrance between KFC and McDonald’s, then look for the away signs rather than joining the home entrance queue. Your ticket decides which level and turnstile to use, because away sections can change between fixtures.

The away ticket booth is near Gate 3, but buy in advance where possible and check whether sales are offered at your match.

Away end
North Stand, with allocation to upper or lower sections depending on the match.
Usual away entrance
Gate 3; follow fixture ticket and on-site signs for exact turnstiles.
Best approach
Saxon Street stadium site entrance between KFC and McDonald’s is advised for Gate 3.
Away ticket booth
Situated near Gate 3; availability of on-day ticket sales varies by fixture.

Buses & local travel

From Milton Keynes Central, use a bus that serves the Stadium MK stop on Saxon Street. The X6 runs via the city centre and stadium towards Bletchley, making it a useful alternative to a taxi. Use the Central Railway Station stop shown on the current timetable, and check the direction before boarding. The council also lists services 6, 6A, X1, X2, X3, X14 and Loop along the stadium corridor.

Services and evening frequencies can differ, so check the specific matchday return rather than assuming the bus you used before kick-off will still be running.

Recommended bus
Arriva X6 connects Milton Keynes Central, Stadium MK and Bletchley Bus Station on its published timetable.
Stadium bus stop
Stadium MK Stop A on Saxon Street, served by X6 on the checked timetable.
Other buses
Council lists 6, 6A, X1, X2, X3, X14 and Loop on the Saxon Street / Stadium MK corridor; check individual service.
Route change
Council reports that service 5 was revised away from Stadium MK; do not rely on old guides recommending it.
Alternative from main station
Taxi from Milton Keynes Central if the bus timing does not fit.

Parking

Bradford City at MK Dons

Book stadium parking if you want the shortest walk and a confirmed place. MK Dons has limited on-site spaces, and paying on arrival is first come, first served. The club charged £10 on the day for its October Reading match, but event prices can change. Free parking is possible in surrounding industrial estates, although we could not confirm a specific unrestricted stretch suitable for a full match.

Parking & park-and-ride

Reports mention Granby, Denbigh West and Mount Farm, but Dawson Road has employee-permit bays. Do not assume an empty roadside space is legal, particularly beside working businesses. For a cheaper, dependable alternative, use the Saba car park at Bletchley Station on Sherwood Drive. It currently costs £5.50 on Saturdays, Sundays and bank holidays, with about a 30-minute walk to the stadium. It is open around the clock, though spaces still depend on arrival demand.

You can also book a properly authorised private driveway if one is offered for your date. Avoid ASDA, IKEA, Fitness First and MK1 shopping car parks: the club says those are for customers only and restrictions are enforced. A supermarket purchase does not give permission to leave your car for football. Aim to arrive at least 75–90 minutes before kick-off if you are driving without a reserved stadium place.

Allow five hours for parking, walking, the match and getting back to your car. Saturday, Sunday and bank-holiday prices differ at Bletchley Station, while evening fixtures need a check of parking conditions and return transport.

Parking verdict
Booking is advisable for a short walk and certainty; industrial-estate free parking is reported but no individual section was safely confirmed as unrestricted.
Booking recommendation
Pre-book Stadium MK via its matchday system where available. Stadium FAQ says an accepted pre-booking guarantees parking; on-day spaces are not guaranteed.
Stadium on-day cost
£10 (£9.80 + £0.20 convenience fee) for MK Dons v Reading on 10 October 2026; use as dated fixture example, not universal future tariff.
Stadium regular tariff
MK1 Parking publishes £8 for up to four hours and £10 for up to five hours, but explicitly warns football-event rates may change.
More practical details 20

No verified regular matchday National Bowl shuttle/park-and-ride was established; do not treat older one-off arrangements as a current option.
Supermarket permission/time limit
ASDA, IKEA, Fitness First and MK1 Shopping & Leisure Park are customer-only, with enforcement; football parking is not permitted by the club’s guidance. Specific site maximum stays unverified.
Total dwell time
Allow five hours for parking, both walks, pre-match arrival, 90 minutes plus interval/stoppages, and post-match delays; three-hour customer limits are inadequate for a standard visit.
After the match
Club warns of exit delays and may restrict post-match traffic; Bletchley Station parking avoids the immediate stadium parking exits but requires the longer walk.
Weekday/weekend difference
Saba Bletchley tariffs differ by weekday arrival time versus weekends/bank holidays. Stadium matchday tariffs are event-dependent.
Retail ANPR penalty
MK1 Parking lists a £100 charge for breach of its managed car-park terms; retail premises have their own terms and should not be assumed equivalent.

Driving & road restrictions

Set your sat-nav for Stadium MK, Stadium Way West, Milton Keynes MK1 1ST. Check the road network and your parking-zone allocation before travelling. For a lift, use the club’s signed drop-off areas instead of stopping on the perimeter road. Worth knowing

Bradford City at MK Dons

A routine lower-league crowd can look small in the 30,000-plus stadium. Visitors get good sightlines, legroom and padded seats, and there is room for large away followings. Across the bowl, Cowshed supporters concentrate much of the home noise.

Accessibility

Accessible journeys

Arrange accessible parking with MK Dons before travelling if a shorter approach is essential. Stadium MK has dedicated Blue Badge bays, but these are limited, subject to payment and require matchday pre-booking. Do not assume displaying a badge alone gives free private-car-park parking.

The stadium provides step-free concourse access from Gates 1–5, with lifts at Gates 6–8.

After the match

After the match

If you parked at Stadium MK, expect to wait before the surrounding roads clear. The club warns that traffic may be restricted after the final whistle, particularly around the drop-off and collection points. Arrange lifts using the signed Gate 6 collection area via Grafton Street if that remains the instruction for your fixture.

For a more predictable walk back to your car, Bletchley Station parking keeps you clear of the immediate stadium exits, although you have around half an hour on foot first. Rail passengers should head back promptly and leave enough margin for their booked service.

Stadium car park exit
Club explicitly advises supporters to expect post-match delays.
Post-match pickup
Gate 6 via Grafton Street only under the 10 October 2026 fixture instructions; subject to later changes.
Alternative paid parking for escape
Bletchley Station car park is away from stadium zone, with around 30-minute walk back before driving away.
Rail return
Bletchley trains can be reached on foot; check evening services and time needed after final whistle.

Where to stay

Stay at the DoubleTree built into Stadium MK if being beside the turnstiles matters more than an evening out. It is the simplest option for an early arrival or a long journey, but hotel guests still have to follow the stadium’s separate parking instructions and charges.

Bletchley is a practical alternative if you want to use the mainline station and keep your journey simple, with a roughly half-hour walk to the ground. For wider hotels, food and nightlife, stay around Milton Keynes Central instead and use the stadium bus or a taxi on matchday.

An overnight stay is worthwhile for a late kick-off if your last safe train home leaves too little margin after the match. Otherwise, there is no need to stay near the ground for an ordinary afternoon fixture.
