Research checked 2026-10-16Use Bletchley for the simplest mainline rail arrival, then follow the signposted walking route towards Stadium MK. Allow roughly 30 minutes to reach the ground, plus time to find the away entrance.
Plan a stay at MK Dons ↗Away supporters normally use the North Stand, with Gate 3 the main arrival point. If you are driving or arriving on a coach, follow the football signs towards the Saxon Street entrance between KFC and McDonald’s, then look for the away signs rather than joining the home entrance queue. Your ticket decides which level and turnstile to use, because away sections can change between fixtures. The away ticket booth is near Gate 3, but buy in advance where possible and check whether sales are offered at your match.
Supporter Match Guide: Reading (H) ↗If you parked at Stadium MK, expect to wait before the surrounding roads clear. The club warns that traffic may be restricted after the final whistle, particularly around the drop-off and collection points. Arrange lifts using the signed Gate 6 collection area via Grafton Street if that remains the instruction for your fixture. For a more predictable walk back to your car, Bletchley Station parking keeps you clear of the immediate stadium exits, although you have around half an hour on foot first. Rail passengers should head back promptly and leave enough margin for their booked service.
Supporter Match Guide: Reading (H) ↗Stay at the DoubleTree built into Stadium MK if being beside the turnstiles matters more than an evening out. It is the simplest option for an early arrival or a long journey, but hotel guests still have to follow the stadium’s separate parking instructions and charges.

Fenny Stratford is nearer on foot, with a walk of around 20 minutes. It is on the Marston Vale line rather than the principal London–Birmingham route, so check that its trains connect conveniently in both directions before choosing it.
Milton Keynes Central is a better arrival point if your train does not call at Bletchley. From there, use a bus towards the Stadium MK stop or take a taxi instead of making the much longer walk.

From Milton Keynes Central, use a bus that serves the Stadium MK stop on Saxon Street. The X6 runs via the city centre and stadium towards Bletchley, making it a useful alternative to a taxi. Use the Central Railway Station stop shown on the current timetable, and check the direction before boarding.
The council also lists services 6, 6A, X1, X2, X3, X14 and Loop along the stadium corridor. Services and evening frequencies can differ, so check the specific matchday return rather than assuming the bus you used before kick-off will still be running.
If you are travelling on your club’s official coach, use the organiser’s departure and return instructions. Coaches are directed towards the football-coach approach from Saxon Street, which gives easy access to the usual visiting entrance at Gate 3 in the North Stand.
The stadium parking layout identifies a C1 coach-parking area. However, the exact unloading and collection position can be changed for a fixture, so follow the stewards and agree where your coach will wait after full-time before you leave it.
Arrange accessible parking with MK Dons before travelling if a shorter approach is essential. Stadium MK has dedicated Blue Badge bays, but these are limited, subject to payment and require matchday pre-booking. Do not assume displaying a badge alone gives free private-car-park parking.
The stadium provides step-free concourse access from Gates 1–5, with lifts at Gates 6–8. Away seating is normally in the North Stand, so ask the club to confirm the most suitable entrance, wheelchair place and drop-off for your allocation.
Bletchley’s mainline platforms have step-free access, but National Rail separately flags Marston Vale platform 6 as not step-free. If that line is part of your route, arrange assistance rather than relying on the general station accessibility label.

It is the simplest option for an early arrival or a long journey, but hotel guests still have to follow the stadium’s separate parking instructions and charges. Bletchley is a practical alternative if you want to use the mainline station and keep your journey simple, with a roughly half-hour walk to the ground. For wider hotels, food and nightlife, stay around Milton Keynes Central instead and use the stadium bus or a taxi on matchday. An overnight stay is worthwhile for a late kick-off if your last safe train home leaves too little margin after the match. Otherwise, there is no need to stay near the ground for an ordinary afternoon fixture.
