FIXTURE STORY

FOLLOW BLACKBURN ROVERS TO CHARLTON ATHLETIC

This fixture is still months away, on 13 March. Today's table is useful background, but it is not a prediction of the positions either side will hold on matchday. If Blackburn Rovers are involved in the promotion picture by then, this could be an away result with real weight behind it.

Blackburn Rovers are 10th in the Championship after 11 league games, with 15 points. Before the season, they were seen as a side with survival to secure.

Charlton Athletic are 17th in the Championship after 11 league games, with 14 points. The pre-season outlook had them down as a side likely to face a survival fight.

Blackburn Rovers's last five recorded league games brought three wins, one draw and one defeat: ten points from a possible fifteen. Recent results give Charlton Athletic three points from a possible fifteen, with three draws and two defeats in their last five league games. Those are results available now; the form heading into this fixture may be very different.

The destination is The Valley in London. Work back from kick-off when deciding whether this is a day trip or a night away. For the best balance, stay around Greenwich station, Greenwich High Road or central Maritime Greenwich. Choose the Angerstein instead when being able to walk to The Valley matters more than having a broad evening choice on the doorstep. Check the matchday travel arrangements again nearer the fixture.

Make the football the reason to go and give yourself enough time to enjoy it. Check the confirmed kick-off and ticket arrangements before committing to travel or a hotel, then choose the plan that lets you support Blackburn Rovers from the away end without rushing the whole day.

Table and form checked 22 October.

Novotel London Greenwich

Novotel London Greenwich

Greenwich station / Greenwich High Road

The best all-round choice for a Charlton overnight trip. It is beside Greenwich station, so the match leg is simple, while central Greenwich's pubs and food are still walkable. It is not the closest hotel and recent room-condition feedback is mixed, but the combination of reliable transport, proper hotel facilities, Booking.com coverage and generally sensible pricing makes it the strongest compromise.

  • Greenwich station is effectively next door, keeping the direct rail leg to Charlton straightforward.
  • Better post-match pub and food choice than staying in the immediate Valley area.
The match journey

Approximate full walking distance/time; walking the whole way is not the reason to stay here. The practical match route is Greenwich station to Charlton by direct train, then the short walk to The Valley.

The trade-off

Not walk-to-the-ground convenient; the rail leg is part of the recommendation.

WHY STAY HERE?

Novotel London Greenwich

Greenwich station / Greenwich High Road

Our view

The best all-round choice for a Charlton overnight trip. It is beside Greenwich station, so the match leg is simple, while central Greenwich's pubs and food are still walkable. It is not the closest hotel and recent room-condition feedback is mixed, but the combination of reliable transport, proper hotel facilities, Booking.com coverage and generally sensible pricing makes it the strongest compromise.

Why it suits this trip

  • Greenwich station is effectively next door, keeping the direct rail leg to Charlton straightforward.
  • Better post-match pub and food choice than staying in the immediate Valley area.
  • Large, established hotel with a substantial recent review base rather than a thinly reviewed matchday option.
  • Booking.com coverage is verified and sampled rates were competitive for a four-star Greenwich hotel.

Getting to the ground

Approximate full walking distance/time; walking the whole way is not the reason to stay here. The practical match route is Greenwich station to Charlton by direct train, then the short walk to The Valley.

Pubs and the evening

Greenwich Market, central pubs and riverside choices are within a manageable walk. The hotel's immediate station edge is less atmospheric than The Mitre's doorstep, but much stronger than a ground-only base.

Arriving by train

The hotel is beside Greenwich station. Direct Greenwich-Charlton trains can take roughly seven minutes; Charlton station is around a three-minute walk from The Valley according to the club's visitor guide.

The trade-offs

  • Not walk-to-the-ground convenient; the rail leg is part of the recommendation.
  • Recent reviews include recurring comments about tired rooms, maintenance or cleaning detail, so check the newest room-specific feedback before paying a premium.
  • Some sampled midweek nights were dearer than weekends, so there is no dependable 'cheap weekday' rule.

Research price context

Typically about £130-£200 midweek and £120-£190 on the sampled Friday nights. This sample did not show a weekend premium.

Closest to the groundPut the stadium journey first
The Angerstein Hotel

The Angerstein Hotel

Westcombe Park / east Greenwich

The ground-first choice. The Angerstein is a small pub hotel on Woolwich Road and is materially closer to The Valley than the central Greenwich hotels, making a walk to the match realistic. It also has a football-friendly pub atmosphere and is usually cheaper. The trade-off is a more basic stay, less choice after the pub itself, stairs-only upper floors and room inventory that includes shared-bathroom options.

  • The closest practical researched hotel for supporters who want to walk to The Valley.
  • Usually the cheapest of the three primary recommendations in the sampled dates.
The match journey

Approximate practical walking figure. The route is relatively short but includes busy-road/railway infrastructure, so it feels less pleasant than the mileage alone suggests. Still the strongest primary option for walking to The Valley.

The trade-off

A pub hotel rather than a full-service chain; expect a simpler room product.

It also has a football-friendly pub atmosphere and is usually cheaper. The trade-off is a more basic stay, less choice after the pub itself, stairs-only upper floors and room inventory that includes shared-bathroom options.

Why it suits this trip

  • The closest practical researched hotel for supporters who want to walk to The Valley.
  • Usually the cheapest of the three primary recommendations in the sampled dates.
  • Pub downstairs gives it a more natural football-trip feel than an isolated budget chain.
  • Booking.com coverage is verified and recent feedback is generally strong for staff, cleanliness and value.

Getting to the ground

Approximate practical walking figure. The route is relatively short but includes busy-road/railway infrastructure, so it feels less pleasant than the mileage alone suggests. Still the strongest primary option for walking to The Valley.

Pubs and the evening

The hotel has its own lively sports pub, which is useful for a football stay, but the wider late-evening choice is thinner than central Greenwich. Greenwich town centre is a short onward journey rather than on the doorstep.

Arriving by train

Westcombe Park station is close to the hotel. For the match itself, walking to The Valley is usually simpler than building the trip around an extra rail hop.

The trade-offs

  • A pub hotel rather than a full-service chain; expect a simpler room product.
  • Some room types use shared bathroom facilities, so the exact room must be checked before booking.
  • Upper rooms are stairs-only and there is no lift.
  • The Woolwich Road/flyover environment is less pleasant for an evening wander than central Greenwich.

Research price context

Typically around £116 midweek in the sample; sampled Friday nights ranged about £116-£179, averaging about £137.

The Mitre by Innkeeper's Collection

The Mitre by Innkeeper's Collection

Maritime Greenwich / Greenwich town centre

The strongest choice when the night after the match matters as much as the match itself. The Mitre puts you in the middle of Greenwich's pub, restaurant and market area and gives you a good pub downstairs. Its recent review profile is stronger than the Novotel's, but it costs more, is farther from the ground and has a less doorstep-simple rail connection than the Novotel.

  • Best doorstep access of the primary choices to Greenwich's pub and food cluster.
  • The pub downstairs means the evening can continue without another journey.
The match journey

Approximate full walking distance/time. The sensible match route is to walk to Greenwich station, take the short direct train to Charlton and then walk to The Valley.

Its recent review profile is stronger than the Novotel's, but it costs more, is farther from the ground and has a less doorstep-simple rail connection than the Novotel.

Why it suits this trip

  • Best doorstep access of the primary choices to Greenwich's pub and food cluster.
  • The pub downstairs means the evening can continue without another journey.
  • Very strong recent Booking.com location/review profile.
  • Still practical for Charlton via a short walk to Greenwich station and direct train to Charlton.

Getting to the ground

Approximate full walking distance/time. The sensible match route is to walk to Greenwich station, take the short direct train to Charlton and then walk to The Valley.

Pubs and the evening

This is the nightlife-led pick: central pubs, restaurants, Greenwich Market and riverside venues are nearby, with a substantial pub directly below the rooms.

Arriving by train

Greenwich rail station is a short walk rather than directly outside. Cutty Sark DLR is very close for wider London, but Greenwich rail station is the useful direct matchday link to Charlton.

The trade-offs

  • Normally dearer than the other primary picks in the sampled dates.
  • Not practical to walk all the way to The Valley for most supporters.
  • Some rooms and showers are compact.
  • Central Greenwich/O2/event demand can produce very large spikes.

Research price context

Typically about £146-£202 midweek and £182-£220 on the sampled Friday nights; weekends carried roughly a 12% premium.

What to expect at Charlton Athletic

All the key information for Blackburn Rovers supporters heading to The Valley — from the ground and atmosphere to food, access, parking and matchday practicalities.

YOUR AWAY DAY · The Valley

The ground

Blackburn Rovers at Charlton Athletic

The modern ground is visibly layered. The redeveloped north and west sides belong to the post-1992 rebuilding story, while the smaller Jimmy Seed Stand at the south end retains an older, more detached feel. Flats overlooking that end and the tight south-east London urban setting stop the stadium from feeling like a sealed modern bowl.

Recorded capacity
27,111

Views from the away section

Supporting beams can restrict some away seats; check any restricted-view designation.

Why the ground matters

The Valley is the clearest single explanation of Charlton Athletic. Supporters helped create it in 1919, lost it in 1985, developed one of English football's most unusual supporter campaigns to return, helped finance and physically prepare it, and still campaign over its long-term security. The ground therefore carries memories of labour, exile, political organisation, fundraising and homecoming as well as matches.

Jimmy Seed Stand / South Stand

Current away end and the most obviously older part of the stadium. Its scale and separation make the redevelopment history readable from inside the ground.

North / Covered End

Part of the major post-return redevelopment and a name with strong home-end heritage. Museum objects and supporter language retain 'Covered End' even within the rebuilt ground.

West Stand

Part of the major redevelopment that followed the initially modest 1992 reopening.

East Stand / Alan Curbishley side

The east side was an early post-return redevelopment phase, part of the way The Valley grew from a restricted homecoming ground into a 27,111-capacity stadium.

Atmosphere & acoustics

Blackburn Rovers at Charlton Athletic

The large away end can generate significant noise when well filled.

From the supporters

Supporter observation

Bristol City supporters recalled a large travelling following at The Valley creating a particularly strong night-game atmosphere.

Supporter interpretation

An enduring part of Charlton supporter vocabulary tied directly to the ground. Included as cultural context without reproducing lyrics.

Running out to The Red, Red Robin

A ritual made significant by its longevity and by supporters formally identifying it as something that should be protected.

Remembering 5 December

The return-to-Valley date recurs in supporter organisations and commemorations; CAST itself was launched on its twentieth anniversary.

YOUR AWAY DAY · The Valley

Food & drink

Blackburn Rovers at Charlton Athletic

Charlton is easiest if you avoid treating Charlton station as a pub destination. The station is only about three minutes from The Valley and visiting supporters are in the Jimmy Seed Stand, but several old away-day favourites nearby have closed or become home-oriented. For rail groups coming through central London, London Bridge and Borough Market remain the sensible meeting point before the short onward train.

Food and drink around the ground

Closer to the ground, the Angerstein Hotel is the best-supported modern away pub, with the River Ale House a smaller, genuinely mixed alternative; North Greenwich and The Pilot work well for Jubilee-line arrivals and overnight stays. Food is better planned separately: Valley Cafe and Charlton Kebab House suit quick arrivals by Charlton station, Inihaw and Kesar offer proper meals, while Greenwich gives you Goddards pie and mash and the market before travelling on.

The Jimmy Seed concourse has hot food, but high-risk fixtures can bring special policing, pub restrictions and station routing.

The Angerstein Hotel

The strongest current away-pub recommendation for Charlton. Visiting-club guides, local supporters and recent Portsmouth fans all point here rather than the old Charlton-station pubs.

Accessibility

Blackburn Rovers at Charlton Athletic

Arrange accessible tickets and parking through your visiting club and Charlton before travel. The club accepts parking requests at disability.parking@cafc.co.uk, while Level Playing Field reports two complimentary visiting spaces coordinated through the away disability liaison officer. Parking and wheelchair places are limited, so a Blue Badge alone does not secure admission. Charlton station has lifts and step-free access to both platforms.

Accessible journeys

The usual accessible drop-off for the Jimmy Seed Stand is Entrance 4 on Valley Grove, but the road closes near kick-off. Confirm the permitted arrival time and route with the club; some visiting wheelchair users have reported poor views when spectators stand in front.

Before the match

Blackburn Rovers at Charlton Athletic

Use Charlton railway station for The Valley. It is roughly seven minutes' walk from the ground, with trains from London Bridge and other central London terminals. The station has lifts and step-free access to both platforms, although you should check engineering work and the return service for your fixture. If you are arriving on the Elizabeth line, use Woolwich and continue by bus or a connecting train.

The Angerstein Hotel

The strongest current away-pub recommendation for Charlton. Visiting-club guides, local supporters and recent Portsmouth fans all point here rather than the old Charlton-station pubs.

Station to ground & away entrance

Head for the Jimmy Seed Stand, the usual visiting-supporter end of The Valley. From Charlton station, cross Charlton Church Lane and follow Floyd Road towards the ground, then use the signs and stewards to reach the Valley Grove side of the away stand. Do not assume the home ticket-office entrance is the correct approach for your ticket. The club opens turnstiles around 90 minutes before kick-off.

Allow extra time to get through if you arrive close to the pre-match road closures, which affect Valley Grove, Floyd Road and Harvey Gardens. Away accessible drop-off is normally arranged at Entrance 4 on Valley Grove, subject to matchday stewarding.

Buses & local travel

For a bus from North Greenwich, use one of the routes serving the Woolwich Road and Charlton Station stops. Charlton's 2026/27 guide lists the SL11, 486, 161, 177, 180 and 380 near The Valley, with some providing the North Greenwich connection. Get off around Charlton station or the appropriate nearby stop and follow the short walk to the away end. From Woolwich, local bus connections are available, but check the direction and stop before boarding.

The club does not advertise a dedicated away-supporter shuttle for ordinary league fixtures. Road closures before kick-off can change traffic flow, so allow time for the return bus and check TfL on the day.

YOUR AWAY DAY · The Valley

Parking

Blackburn Rovers at Charlton Athletic

Book an authorised parking space for a Saturday afternoon at The Valley if you need a predictable arrival. Most nearby streets fall within Greenwich parking zones operating 9am–6.30pm, Monday to Saturday. Many shared-use bays allow only two hours, and the ground's access roads close before kick-off. The simplest paid choice is a pre-booked driveway or car park through Charlton's JustPark matchday partner.

Parking & park-and-ride

An authorised longer-stay booking at Asda Charlton, Bugsby's Way, is another option. Register the correct number plate and book enough time for the match, the walks and any delays. Free parking is possible farther away, but there is no named bay I can certify as unrestricted throughout a match. Charlton Supporters' Trust points to Canberra Road, Charlton Park Lane, Hornfair Road and Marlborough Lane south of Charlton Park.

It also suggests the river ends of Eastmoor Street and Westmoor Street. Check the actual signs and yellow lines before leaving your vehicle. For a fallback that avoids residential streets, arrange a private space before travelling. Parking in Greenwich followed by a train to Charlton also works, provided the car park allows a long enough stay. Thames Barrier visitor parking closes at 5pm and is unsuitable for most afternoon fixtures.

Aim to be parked 60–90 minutes before kick-off and allow roughly four to five hours overall. Sunday and later evening kick-offs fall outside the normal controlled-zone hours, but most bank-holiday Mondays do not. Yellow lines still apply. Do not use ordinary Asda customer parking or IKEA's five-hour customer allowance as permission to leave a car for football.

Driving & road restrictions

Set your sat-nav to your chosen booked space rather than The Valley's SE7 8BL postcode. The A206 Woolwich Road is a useful approach, but Floyd Road, Harvey Gardens and Valley Grove can close shortly before kick-off. Arriving near the ground without parking arranged can leave you circling permit bays as the roads shut. Check your vehicle's ULEZ status before entering London: a non-compliant car normally incurs a £12.50 daily charge.

If you travel through the Blackwall or Silvertown tunnels, check their separate charging rules as well. London roadworks and event-day diversions vary, so review the final route before setting off.

Older stand infrastructure means facilities are more basic than newer stadiums.

Shelter and exposure

YOUR AWAY DAY · The Valley

Worth knowing

Blackburn Rovers at Charlton Athletic

An away supporter who knows the backstory can read Charlton before kick-off. The old-looking south stand, the larger rebuilt sides, Bartram statue, museum and return-to-Valley memorial all point to different eras. The useful thing to notice is not simply whether the ground is 'good' or 'dated', but why its unevenness exists and why supporters remain protective of it.

Matchday features

Large away end. Supporting-beam sightline risk. Traditional London ground

Bags and entry

Check current stadium policy.

You enter a stand from a different architectural era

Away supporters are currently in the Jimmy Seed Stand, which looks and feels older than much of the rest of The Valley.

The stadium has a visible homecoming history

Post-1992 rebuilding created the larger modern sides, so the ground's shape reflects the staged recovery after exile.

Heritage is on-site, not hidden in a distant archive

The museum, Sam Bartram statue and Back to The Valley memorial can all turn a routine visit into a much clearer story of what Charlton supporters value.

The south-east London setting leaks into the view

Supporter interpretation

Flats overlook the south end, a small detail that gives the ground a lived-in urban backdrop.

Sam Bartram statue

Club folklore

A direct invitation to ask who Bartram was, which leads into both serious club history and the fog story.

Charlton Athletic Museum

A volunteer-run museum at the ground with unusually good supporter-politics material as well as football artefacts.

Back to The Valley memorial

Installed in 2024, its 2,632-balloon design counts the days of exile rather than using a generic commemorative plaque.

Flats behind the south end

A small visual quirk that makes the ground feel embedded in its neighbourhood rather than isolated from it.

The contrast between the Jimmy Seed Stand and rebuilt sides

The architecture itself shows that the present Valley was rebuilt in stages after the 1992 return.

Volunteer construction in 1919

Supporters helped turn the pit into a football ground.

Exile and return

The stadium was lost in 1985 and regained for league football on 5 December 1992.

Asset of Community Value status

The designation was renewed in 2024 and is current to March 2029, but it is procedural protection rather than supporter ownership.

Current ownership separation

As of 2026 the stadium remains outside the football club's ownership, with a club tenancy to 2040.

Matchday arrangements can change. Check current club guidance and your ticket before travelling.

Supporter insights combine the site's existing official guidance, supporter-oriented research and fixture checks.

Trains

Rail, Underground & tram

Use Charlton railway station for The Valley. It is roughly seven minutes' walk from the ground, with trains from London Bridge and other central London terminals. The station has lifts and step-free access to both platforms, although you should check engineering work and the return service for your fixture.

If you are arriving on the Elizabeth line, use Woolwich and continue by bus or a connecting train. North Greenwich on the Jubilee line is another useful approach, with onward buses to Charlton. Westcombe Park is a possible rail alternative, but its step-free route between platforms involves an outside detour; Woolwich Dockyard has no step-free London-bound platform.

Coaches

Away coaches

Travel on your visiting club's official coach if you want the simplest organised arrival. Older visiting-supporter accounts describe coaches close to the Jimmy Seed Stand, but other historical directions place coach parking on Bugsby's Way or Anchor and Hope Lane. These are not a confirmed 2026/27 instruction, so use the drop-off and collection details supplied by your organiser.

If you are arranging a private coach, contact the visiting club and Charlton in advance for an approved location. Do not treat Valley Grove as a freely accessible coach stop during matchday closures. Make sure everybody knows where to meet after full-time, as police and stewards can direct away supporters along a different route at busy fixtures.

Buses

Accessibility

Accessible journeys

Arrange accessible tickets and parking through your visiting club and Charlton before travel. The club accepts parking requests at disability.parking@cafc.co.uk, while Level Playing Field reports two complimentary visiting spaces coordinated through the away disability liaison officer. Parking and wheelchair places are limited, so a Blue Badge alone does not secure admission.

Charlton station has lifts and step-free access to both platforms. The usual accessible drop-off for the Jimmy Seed Stand is Entrance 4 on Valley Grove, but the road closes near kick-off. Confirm the permitted arrival time and route with the club; some visiting wheelchair users have reported poor views when spectators stand in front.

After the match

After the match

For the fastest public-transport return, follow the signed route from the Jimmy Seed Stand back to Charlton station and leave enough time for a busy platform. Do not assume a short walk means you can safely catch a train immediately after the whistle. Check engineering work and any police-controlled supporter route before the match.

If you drive, expect restricted streets and slow movement near Floyd Road and Valley Grove while crowds disperse. A booked space farther from the stadium may be easier to reach than one beside the away gate. Some higher-profile fixtures have involved additional police crowd management, so follow stewards rather than taking unfamiliar cut-throughs.

Closest rail return

Matchday road access
Local streets shut shortly before kick-off and later reopen; road conditions after full time vary
Away crowd management

Residential and arterial-road congestion can delay getting away; no guaranteed faster specific parking site

Where to stay

Stay in Greenwich if you want a proper away weekend with a choice of pubs, restaurants and hotels. Greenwich railway station gives you an easy onward journey to Charlton, leaving the immediate stadium neighbourhood for the match rather than for your whole evening. Allow time to get back through any post-match crowds.

For the shortest football journey, Charlton or the nearby Woolwich Road side can work if you find suitable accommodation. The trade-off is a much smaller choice of hotels and places to go afterwards. If you are arriving through London Bridge, a central-London base can also suit, provided your return train times work.

Suggested overnight base
Greenwich around Greenwich station and the town centre for food, hotels and rail access
Near-ground alternative
Charlton area for the shortest stadium approach but fewer leisure options
Rail-oriented alternative

Charlton is easiest if you avoid treating Charlton station as a pub destination. The station is only about three minutes from The Valley and visiting supporters are in the Jimmy Seed Stand, but several old away-day favourites nearby have closed or become home-oriented. For rail groups coming through central London, London Bridge and Borough Market remain the sensible meeting point before the short onward train.

PUB / BAR

Kesar Punjabi Restaurant

192 Woolwich Road, Charlton, London, SE7 7RA
12 min walkAway access: checkFamily friendly
BEST FORproper-meal · groups · Greenwich-side-approach
MATCHDAY INTELA useful non-pub meal on Woolwich Road, especially for groups wanting grills, curry or vegetarian Punjabi dishes before walking on to The Valley.
WORTH KNOWINGCurrent delivery and booking platforms disagree on some historic prices, so use the live ordering menu rather than old booking-menu prices.
PUB / BAR

The Angerstein Hotel

108 Woolwich Road, Greenwich, London, SE10 0LE
15 min walkAway access: check
BEST FORaway-fan-meeting-point · Westcombe-Park-arrivals · overnight-stay
MATCHDAY INTELThe strongest current away-pub recommendation for Charlton. Visiting-club guides, local supporters and recent Portsmouth fans all point here rather than the old Charlton-station pubs.
WORTH KNOWINGExpect it to be packed. No blanket colours policy is published, and high-risk fixtures can bring different police or door arrangements.
PUB / BAR

The River Ale House

131 Woolwich Road, Greenwich, London, SE10 0RJ
20 min walkAway access: check
BEST FORreal-ale · small-groups · Greenwich-side-approach
MATCHDAY INTELA proper independent alternative to the main away pub. The Charlton-supporting owners explicitly say they are open to people going to The Valley for Charlton or the opposition.
WORTH KNOWINGIt is a micropub and can fill quickly. Away colours are not expressly covered by the published welcome, so keep fixture sensitivity in mind.

The Pilot

68 River Way, Greenwich, London SE10 0BE
Away access: check
BEST FORNorth-Greenwich · sit-down · families · pre-match-lunch
MATCHDAY INTELA proper-meal stop for supporters coming through North Greenwich or staying near the O2. The pub has a kitchen and dining space, but it is not an away-fans-only venue and requires an onward journey.
WORTH KNOWINGThe pub is open from 10am on Saturdays, but the kitchen states noon–10pm. Pub opening is not proof of breakfast food.
PUB / BAR

Greenwich Market

Greenwich Market, London, SE10 9HZ
Away access: checkFamily friendly
BEST FORmixed-groups · daytime-food · Greenwich-meet
MATCHDAY INTELThe best Greenwich option when a group cannot agree what to eat. Independent street-food stalls give far more choice than committing everyone to one pub kitchen.
WORTH KNOWINGThe main market is daytime-focused. The separate Cutty Sark Street Food Market runs Friday-Sunday only during its published 2026 season.
PUB / BAR

The Old Brewery, Greenwich

Pepys Building, Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich, London SE10 9LW
Away access: check
BEST FORproper-meal · Greenwich-hotels · groups · post-match
MATCHDAY INTELA more leisurely Greenwich meal than a takeaway. Its location inside the Old Royal Naval College suits supporters making a day of the area or staying over, particularly for lunch after a morning in Greenwich.
WORTH KNOWINGThe kitchen states noon–9pm Monday–Saturday and noon–8pm Sunday; weekday sandwich lunch menu runs noon–4pm, not Saturdays.
PUB / BAR

The Valley Cafe

20 Charlton Church Lane, London, SE7 7AE
5 min walkAway access: checkFamily friendly
BEST FORbreakfast · train-arrivals · families · quick-meal
MATCHDAY INTELThe practical Charlton-station food stop: close enough to eat first and still walk to the away end without a detour, with proper breakfasts and sandwiches rather than stadium snacks.
WORTH KNOWINGCurrent listings agree on an early Saturday opening but conflict on Sunday trading. For Sunday fixtures, verify before travelling.
PUB / BAR

Wandercrust at The Pelton Arms

23–25 Pelton Road, Greenwich, London SE10 9PQ
Away access: check
BEST FORpizza · overnight-stay · post-match · groups
MATCHDAY INTELA strong evening option for supporters staying over in Greenwich: excellent pizza is the reason to go, not proximity to the turnstiles. Its separate food kitchen has different hours from the pub itself.
WORTH KNOWINGThe Pelton’s latest booking page lists Wandercrust Saturday from 1pm and Monday from 6pm. Earlier operator pages differ for other kitchens.
