BEFORE YOU SET OFF

Put your trip together

01 · Arrive

Your route into Bramall Lane

Head for the Bramall Lane Stand, where visiting supporters are normally seated in the lower tier behind the goal. From Sheffield station, walk along Sheaf Street towards Shoreham Street, follow Shoreham Street uphill and cross St Mary's Road at the lights. Continue towards John Street and the Bramall Lane side of the stadium, following signs and stewards to the visiting turnstiles. Do not go straight to the home ticket office or assume every entrance on Cherry Street is for general admission. Your away ticket and the fixture's instructions take priority if the club changes the allocation. The separate accessible entrance is through the large red gate in the main Cherry Street car park, beside Legends of the Lane. Allow a little extra time for the street crossings and security checks. The stadium is compact, but temporary traffic exclusion zones can affect the normal approach.

02 · Before the match

Béres – Pinstone Street

Roast pork breadcake with crackling, sage-and-onion stuffing and apple sauce; breakfast sandwiches and savouries. Official Pinstone Street hours: Monday–Saturday 7.30am–5pm; Sunday 8.30am–4pm. Check queues rather than planning to order at the last minute.

03 · Stay or head home?

Choose your base before your hotel

Stay around Sheffield station or the southern city centre if the match is part of an overnight trip. You can walk to Bramall Lane, return to the station easily and choose from pubs and restaurants without depending on a late tram.

The established supporter food pick

Beres pork sandwich; Bramall Lane balti pie

Sheffield roast pork sandwiches and bakery

Béres – Pinstone Street

Good for early arrival · local food

Choose this for something distinctly Sheffield rather than generic football food. The roast-pork breadcake travels well for an on-foot lunch, and the Pinstone Street shop opens early even on Sundays.

Expect Sheffield speciality · quick service · takeaway

Before you go Official Pinstone Street hours: Monday–Saturday 7.30am–5pm; Sunday 8.30am–4pm. Check queues rather than planning to order at the last minute.

Mexican street food

The Street Food Chef – The Canteen

Good for early arrival · rail arrival

A Sheffield-owned alternative to a rushed chain meal. Order a burrito to take away before walking towards the ground, or sit in if you have time. Saturday opening from 10am makes it a useful earlier-start option.

Expect independent · casual · quick food

Before you go The Canteen advertises 10am–10pm Saturday and 11am–10pm weekdays; check order queues and any changed service hours before setting off.

Food & drink
Burritos, tacos and quesadillas; fillings and salsa choices; gluten- and dairy-free options to discuss with staff.

A reliable-style late food option for families or friends staying in the centre, with a broad menu and the ability to order ahead. The venue actively markets itself to Bramall Lane supporters and recommends booking on matchdays.

Before you go Current Headford Street page says 11am–11pm every day; last orders 15 minutes before closing. Gluten-free buns are not guaranteed safe for coeliacs.

Food & drink

pies, sausage rolls, snacks and drinks

Bramall Lane Away Concourse

0 min walk

Good for late arrivals · inside ground

Useful rather than exciting: the visiting concourse covers the standard football food basics, but Sheffield's better food is outside the ground.

Expect away concourse · football food · cashless or contactless

Before you go Do not quote the widely indexed £5.50 hot-dog post as current: the Footy Scran example in ground guides dates from February 2023.

Food & drink
Current ground guides describe pies and sausage rolls plus hot, soft and alcoholic drinks. The famous chip butty is associated with the home John Street Stand, not something to promise in the away end.
How it works

independent market food court

Moor Market – food court

Good for mixed groups · daytime

The practical choice when a group wants different lunches without agreeing on one pub menu. It is useful for families and meat-free options, but traders set their own serving windows, which are shorter than the market’s doors-open hours.

Expect market · independent · variety

Before you go Market opens Monday–Saturday 8am–5.30pm, closed Sunday and bank holidays. Hungry Buddha specifically serves thali noon–2.30pm, not all day.

Food & drink
Hungry Buddha Nepalese thali, Lemongrass Thai street food, McKay’s breakfasts and hot lunches, and The Market Chippy are listed traders.
How it works

New Zealand-inspired breakfast and brunch

Tamper Coffee – Sellers Wheel

Good for breakfast · families

Better for a proper breakfast or coffee-led start than a last-minute takeaway. The café welcomes families, has highchairs and baby changing, but tables get busy and it advises booking where possible.

Expect independent · coffee · brunch

Before you go Saturday 9am–4.30pm, with the kitchen closing an hour earlier. Large lunch groups should enquire directly; table booking system only handles up to six.

Food & drink
Kiwi-inspired breakfasts, seasonal brunch plates, coffee and French toast; children’s menu available.
How it works
sit-down café; bookable tables and walk-ins

brunch and pizza

LYKKE – New Era Square

Good for near ground area · breakfast

A useful breakfast or sit-down meal close to the ground-side neighbourhood without committing to a football pub. New Era Square also suits those staying locally, with brunch by day and pizza into the evening.

Expect new era square · brunch · sit down

Before you go Website lists Saturday opening from 10am, but separate food-menu versions overlap; confirm live kitchen choices and book larger groups.

Food & drink
Breakfast sandwiches, baked eggs and brunch until 2pm; pizzas include margherita, hot-honey pepperoni and chicken options.
How it works
sit-down café-bar and restaurant; bookable for groups

Unit 8, New Era Square, Sheffield S2 4RB

Chinese cuisine and dim sum

OISOI Bar & Restaurant

Good for post match meal · overnight stay

A proper meal choice for supporters making a weekend of Sheffield rather than a quick stadium snack. Its New Era Square position is handy for the ground, but sitting down for dim sum needs more time than takeaway.

Expect sit down · dim sum · near ground area

Before you go Official hours noon–10pm every day. For early kick-offs, treat this as an after-match option; reserve ahead for groups.

Food & drink
Har kau, siu mai, xiao long bao, char siu buns, rice dishes and vegetarian dim sum; separate vegan menu advertised.
How it works
table-service restaurant; reservation available

First Floor, Block A, New Era Square, Boston Street, Sheffield S2 4QF

football ground kiosk food

Bramall Lane – visiting supporters concourse

Good for late arrival · inside stadium

A sensible fallback if arriving close to kick-off, not a reason to skip Sheffield’s better local food. Club-wide catering descriptions are not a guarantee that every listed item will be stocked in the visiting concourse.

Expect inside ground · quick bite · fallback

Before you go The club describes Bramall Lane as cashless. Do not promise the home-only John Street chip butty to visiting supporters, or quote old kiosk prices.

Food & drink
Club visitor catering material advertises Pukka pies, including vegetarian or vegan options, Henderson’s Relish sausage roll, snacks and hot drinks across the stadium.
How it works

Indian curries and grills

Flame Fusion by Front Room

Good for post match food · curry

A nearby alternative when supporters want a proper curry, particularly after football, rather than another burger. Its independently operated menu is online, but published lunch hours disagree between listings, so verify seating and serving times before travelling.

Expect Indian · near ground area · sit down

Before you go Tripadvisor lists Saturday lunch 11.30am–2.45pm and evening 5–11.30pm; another directory has evening-only hours. Phone to confirm current hours.

Food & drink
Tandoori chicken, butter chicken, chilli paneer, paneer karahi, aloo dal saag and naan on the published takeaway menu.
How it works
small restaurant and takeaway, with published online ordering

WHERE TO STAY

Where should you stay?

Choose a base for the football and the rest of your visit.

Where to stay

Stay around Sheffield station or the southern city centre if the match is part of an overnight trip. You can walk to Bramall Lane, return to the station easily and choose from pubs and restaurants without depending on a late tram. The Eyre Street and Moor area is a useful compromise between football and the evening. If getting back to your room immediately after the final whistle matters more, DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield City is directly on Bramall Lane. Its own website warns that hotel parking access is restricted on matchdays, so staying there does not mean you can drive up to the hotel freely around kick-off. For a bigger evening out, the wider city centre provides more choice than the streets around the visiting entrance. Check individual hotel prices against your fixture and do not assume hotel parking is available without a separate booking.

DoubleTree by Hilton Sheffield City: location, parking and transport ↗

For most supporters, the best balance is the south side of the city centre around Eyre Street/St Mary's Gate: the ground is comfortably walkable, Sheffield station is still close, and the main central food-and-drink areas remain within reach. Stay at Bramall Lane itself if minimum post-match walking matters most; stay around Leopold Square/West Street if the evening after the game is the priority.

For the evening

The strongest all-round post-match cluster is in the central-west core around Leopold Square, Division Street and West Street. Visit Sheffield describes Division Street as a long-established independent hub of pubs, bars, cafés and shops, while Leopold Square has bars and restaurants directly around the hotel courtyard.

For the train

Sheffield station is on the south-east side of the centre. Leonardo Hotel Sheffield is the strongest rail/stadium compromise among the primary choices: its official site says the station is less than a 10-minute walk away, while Bramall Lane is roughly half a mile in the other direction.
