BEFORE YOU SET OFF
Put your trip together
01 · Arrive
Your route into Pride Park Stadium
Head for the south-east corner of Pride Park Stadium. Visiting fans normally use turnstiles 43–48, and the away ticket office is at the same end. Follow the stadium perimeter signs and check the entrance printed on your ticket rather than joining the home-supporter queues. From Derby station, use Roundhouse Road and Pride Park Way before following Derwent Parade and Royal Way towards the stadium. The club advises around 15–20 minutes to the ground, so give yourself extra time to reach the correct corner and pass through security. Away ticket collection opens about 90 minutes before kick-off. If you need step-free entry, the club directs visiting supporters to Gates S or T in the south-east corner. Arrange any assistance beforehand so stewards know what you need.
02 · Before the match
Harvester Pride Park
10-minute walk to the ground. The clearest near-ground choice for visitors who want food as well as a pint. Current visiting guidance says it welcomes away fans, while the restaurant itself is open all day and built for families. Admission has varied historically and no current colours policy is published. For a derby or large following, check the specific fixture rather than treating access as unconditional.
03 · Stay or head home?
Choose your base before your hotel
For most visiting supporters staying overnight, Derby city centre is the best base. The Cathedral Quarter and nearby Morledge area give you a wider choice of food and pubs after the game, while Derby station provides the straightforward walking route out to Pride Park.

Good for Derby supporters arriving by train · real-ale drinkers
The Brunswick is one of Derby’s standout railway pubs and remains a strong pre-match choice for home supporters arriving by train. Its official site and a February 2026 CAMRA survey confirm it is open and serves food, while CAMRA now states clearly that it is home fans only on matchdays. That current rule overrides older away-day guides that still describe it as away-friendly.
Expect traditional railway pub · real ale · home-fan matchday crowd
Before you go CAMRA's March 2026 entry explicitly says 'Home fans only on match days'. That is stronger and newer than older visiting-fan guides that suggested early, discreet away use. No separate current colours policy is stated.

Where to stay
For most visiting supporters staying overnight, Derby city centre is the best base. The Cathedral Quarter and nearby Morledge area give you a wider choice of food and pubs after the game, while Derby station provides the straightforward walking route out to Pride Park. If the match is the main purpose of the trip and a short post-match journey matters more than nightlife, look at the hotels around Derby station and Pride Park. You can walk between the station, away entrance and accommodation without arranging a late taxi through stadium traffic. For a night out, the streets around Sadler Gate and the Cathedral Quarter offer more choice than the business parks surrounding the ground. An evening fixture may finish too late for an easy onward rail connection, so check the last train before deciding whether to stay.
For most overnight supporters, base yourself in the city centre between Morledge and the Cathedral Quarter. You can still reach Pride Park on foot via Derby station, while having far more pubs, bars and food within walking distance after the match. Choose Pride Park itself when getting out of the ground and into bed quickly matters more than the night out.
For the evening
The Cathedral Quarter around Sadler Gate, Iron Gate, The Strand and nearby streets is the stronger evening base. Current local sources describe a dense mix of pubs, bars, restaurants and nightlife, while Derby retained Purple Flag accreditation in 2026 for its managed evening economy.
For the train
Derby station sits between the city centre and Pride Park. That makes the station/Pride Park hotels particularly convenient for rail arrivals, while Morledge remains a manageable 10–12 minute walk from the station. Cathedral Quarter hotels are further west and trade rail convenience for nightlife.
