BEFORE YOU SET OFF

Put your trip together

01 · Arrive

Your route into Turf Moor

Head for the Barnfield Construction Stand, the traditional Cricket Field Stand, rather than entering through the home areas on Harry Potts Way. Burnley's current accessibility guide identifies B1 as the visiting-supporter accessible entrance. Follow your ticket and steward directions for the ordinary away turnstiles because the approach arrangements have changed in recent seasons. From the town centre, walk along Yorkshire Street towards Turf Moor, then follow signs around to your allocated away entrance. If you park at Burnley Cricket Club on Belvedere Road, you are already close to the visiting end. Allow extra time for searches and for the final walk around the stadium perimeter.

02 · Before the match

Bridge Bier Huis

12-minute walk to the ground. No published away-colours rule was found. Monday and Tuesday opening normally starts at 5pm, although CAMRA says it opens for Burnley home fixtures.

03 · Stay or head home?

Choose your base before your hotel

Stay in Burnley town centre if you want the simplest all-round football trip. The Manchester Road and St James Street area lets you reach Turf Moor on foot and gives you better access to pubs, food, buses and trains after the match.

Food is available during daytime service, but the main reason to choose it is the beer range: changing cask ales, cider and a large imported-bottle and foreign-draught selection.

The default Burnley away pub: directly behind the visiting stand, openly mixed and built for matchday volume. Pie and peas inside and rotating street food outside make it useful for drinkers and families.

WHERE TO STAY

Where should you stay?

Compare the ground, station and town-centre hotel options for your trip.

Where to stay

Stay in Burnley town centre if you want the simplest all-round football trip. The Manchester Road and St James Street area lets you reach Turf Moor on foot and gives you better access to pubs, food, buses and trains after the match. There is little reason to stay immediately beside the ground unless getting to the turnstiles is your main concern. For a football-first overnight stay, look at accommodation around Yorkshire Street or the stadium side of the centre. If you are driving, a hotel farther west may offer easier motorway access, but you will need to check the car park's overnight conditions. For an evening kick-off, choose your return station and hotel before relying on the walk back or a late bus.

Accessibility information: travel and visiting supporter entrance ↗

For most supporters arriving by train or wanting drinks and food after the match, the town centre around Manchester Road and St James Street is the most useful base. Drivers who value free parking, predictable standards and a lower rate can sensibly stay a little farther west at Holiday Inn Express and walk or take a short taxi.

For the evening

Burnley town centre is the useful evening cluster, particularly around St James Street, Manchester Road and the central bars/pubs. Above Hotels is the strongest researched hotel for combining that nightlife location with a walkable return from Turf Moor.

For the train

Burnley Manchester Road is the most useful main station for most visiting supporters and Burnley FC describes Turf Moor as about a 15-minute walk from it. Burnley Central is also usable. Above Hotels is particularly convenient for Manchester Road; Holiday Inn Express is farther west and also close to Burnley Barracks.
