Inside the away section

Amex South Stand away concourse

0 min walk

Good for supporters heading straight to the ground · last-stop food

The South Stand away-end concourse is the most dependable food option once you reach Falmer. Cashless kiosks offer food and drinks before kick-off and at half-time, but some have a limited range.

If you are heading straight to the Amex, use the South Stand away concourse for food. Cashless kiosks serve before kick-off and at half-time, with pies, hot food, drinks and snacks; the selection depends on the kiosk.

Expect inside away end · convenient · busy at peak times

burgers

Burger Brothers

Good for made-to-order burgers · solo diners or small groups

A compact North Road burger shop, preparing beef, veggie and chicken burgers to order. Worth a visit if you have time, but local diners report queues and seating is limited, so allow longer than a simple grab-and-go stop.

Expect independent · North Laine · compact and often busy

Before you go Closed on Sundays and Mondays, making it unsuitable for Sunday fixtures. Food is cooked to order and queues are reported; allow time to reach Brighton station for the Falmer train.

WHERE TO STAY

Where should you stay?

Choose a base for the football and the rest of your visit.

Where to stay

Stay near Brighton station or in North Laine if the football journey matters most. You can reach Falmer by a short train trip and have the city’s pubs and restaurants within walking distance of your hotel. It makes more sense than staying beside the Amex, where accommodation and evening choice are limited. Choose The Lanes or the central seafront if you are making a weekend of the visit and want more choice after the match. You will have a longer walk or local transfer back to Brighton station. Lewes is another sensible base if you are approaching from the east, with a one-stop train to Falmer. Leave time for the return queue whichever side you stay.

Brighton Station ↗

For the best football-trip balance, base yourself by Brighton Station or just downhill into North Laine. Falmer is about 10 minutes by train from Brighton, and for 2026/27 Premier League home matches the club includes bus and train travel within its travel zone for match-ticket holders during the stated pre/post-match window. A station hotel therefore removes much of the usual stadium-transfer friction without leaving you stranded on the edge of the city after the match.

For the evening

The Lanes, North Laine and the central seafront are the strongest all-round areas for post-match pubs, restaurants and bars. The Lanes sit between the seafront and North Laine; North Laine starts almost immediately below Brighton Station, so both work well for a football weekend.

For the train

Brighton Station is the key rail base for the Amex. Falmer station is next to the stadium and the journey from Brighton is about 10 minutes. Leonardo Hotel Brighton, Staybridge Suites Brighton and ibis Brighton City Centre - Station are all effectively station hotels.

Hotels to compare

  • Leonardo Hotel BrightonLeonardo Hotel BrightonBrighton Station / New England QuarterAll-round choice

Beside Brighton railway station, with only a short walk between the hotel entrance and station concourse.

Bear in mind: The station-side New England Quarter is a practical base rather than a seafront stay; the beach and central Lanes are further away on foot.

    More about this choice

Direct trains from Brighton to Falmer generally take around 6–10 minutes; Falmer station is by the stadium.

For 2026/27 Premier League fixtures, eligible match-ticket holders can use free trains and buses within the club travel zone from 3.5 hours before kick-off until 3.5 hours after the final whistle, provided the journey starts in that window.

North Laine, with independent pubs, restaurants and cafés, starts downhill from the station via Trafalgar Street.

The hotel has a staffed 24-hour reception, bar and restaurant, making a rail-based overnight stay straightforward.

Guest reports include some tired bathrooms or fittings, inconsistent air conditioning, occasional noise and isolated cleanliness complaints; experiences vary by room.

Being near Brighton Station does not eliminate matchday crowding or the wait to board return trains at Falmer.

  • The Downs HotelThe Downs HotelWoodingdeanFor the shortest ground journey

A working pub with guest rooms in Woodingdean, closer to the Falmer area than Brighton seafront accommodation.

Bear in mind: Not the nearest room to the stadium: Ruby Pub & Hotel advertises a shorter walk, although its indexed Booking.com score is lower.

    More about this choice

Booking.com’s October 2026 indexed listing displayed 8.6/10 from 1,177 reviews; it is a snapshot, not a guaranteed current rating.

On-site parking is confirmed by the hotel and Booking.com; guests should confirm arrangements if leaving a vehicle during the match.

The club confirms a wide, flat, step-free shared route between the Bexhill Road end of Woodingdean and the Falmer Farm Shop/stadium area; access from the hotel itself is separate.

An on-site pub and food, breakfast for staying guests, and route 22 into central Brighton add flexibility.

A central Brighton night out needs a journey back. Route 22 serves the Downs Hotel stop and Churchill Square, but does not run directly to the Amex.

Recent guest accounts disagree: positive reports of rooms and staff sit alongside complaints about road noise, food consistency and occasional maintenance.

The previously sampled Friday rates carried a marked premium. Those September 2026 price checks are historic and were not refreshed here.

Bear in mind: Roughly a 15-minute walk uphill to Brighton Station before the train to Falmer.

    More about this choice

Strong recent reputation: Booking.com 8.5/10 from more than 10,000 reviews in the sampled results and strong 2026 Tripadvisor feedback.

Brighton Station is roughly a 15-minute walk, so the Falmer train remains practical.

Pool, sauna, steam room and gym add genuine weekend-break value.

The normal sampled price, while higher than the station pick, remained well below top-end Brighton luxury pricing on several dates.

Costs more than the overall recommended station hotel.

Some recent reviews mention worn areas, noise and occasional maintenance/service inconsistencies.

Central/seafront position can mean a busier environment than a station-edge hotel.

BEFORE YOU SET OFF

Put your trip together

01 · Arrive

Your route into American Express Stadium

From Falmer station, follow the signposted stadium route towards the Amex. The platforms are close to the North Stand, but visiting supporters need the South Stand at the opposite end. Allow longer than the short station-to-stadium estimate: the away section is around 600 yards from the station, and crowds slow the walk. Follow signs and stewards around the outside of the ground to the South Stand gates. The club’s visiting-supporter guide identifies gates 28, 29 and 31 around that end, but use the turnstile printed on your own ticket. Turnstiles normally open two hours before kick-off; the advertised 2027 away-end relocation will change this guidance.

02 · Before the match

Vudu Food x Weirdough Pizza

Large pizza slices, pulled-pork or brisket loaded fries, vegan jackfruit, sides and bacon rolls. Only around 12 indoor seats and 12 outdoor seats are advertised; takeaway is the better choice for groups catching the Falmer train. 03 · Stay or head home?

Choose your base before your hotel

Stay near Brighton station or in North Laine if the football journey matters most. You can reach Falmer by a short train trip and have the city’s pubs and restaurants within walking distance of your hotel.
