BEFORE YOU SET OFF

Put your trip together

01 · Arrive

Your route into Mbanq Valley Parade

For most visiting supporters, head to the Bradford Lifts Stand on Midland Road, towards the TL Dallas end of the stadium. The October 2026 matchday guide directs away fans in Blocks F and G to turnstiles E8–E12. Check your ticket because the TL Dallas Stand may also open for larger visiting allocations. From Forster Square, make your way towards Manningham Lane and Queens Road, then follow signs and stewards to the Midland Road side. Use the Queens Road end of Midland Road rather than expecting to drive through the matchday closure. The TL Dallas entrance is around the Holywell Ash Lane corner. Holywell Ash Lane is steep. Visiting wheelchair users should confirm their assigned accessible gate with Bradford City's disability liaison team rather than simply following the general turnstile route.

02 · Before the match

The published FanZone information focuses on locally brewed beer and live music; no fixed football-day food offer was verified. Check your fixture’s away guide before diverting to Shipley. The current material establishes the FanZone concept, but no full operating calendar or fixed food offer was found.

03 · Stay or head home?

Choose your base before your hotel

Stay around Forster Square or the northern edge of Bradford city centre if you want a manageable walk to the match. That keeps the main stadium approach, North Parade and the railway station close together without needing a car on matchday.

Saltaire Brewery Away Supporters FanZone

Good for away coaches · larger groups

Bradford’s major 2026/27 change: a dedicated visiting-supporter FanZone at Saltaire Brewery in Shipley, with coach parking, live music and locally brewed beer. It is a group destination, not a pub beside Valley Parade.

global street food

Darley Street Kitchen

Good for groups with mixed food preferences · early rail arrivals

The strongest city-centre food stop for groups. Darley Street Kitchen has Syrian, Sri Lankan, Mexican, Caribbean and pizza traders, while its 2026/27 Bantams courtyard events are free and explicitly advertised as open to everyone.

Expect city centre · food hall · family

Before you go The FanZone is Bradford-branded and no away-colours rule is published. Public market access is clear, but high-risk fixtures should still be checked for large visible groups.

Food & drink
Current traders include Bab Tooma Syrian food, Ayubowan Sri Lankan dishes, Mexi Bean Express, Jenny's Jerk Chicken, Pizzeria Il Forno and Northern Monk beer.

South Asian snacks, kebabs and sweets

Sweet Centre

Good for Bradford-specific food · quick substantial bite

A Bradford-specific food stop rather than generic matchday fare. Sweet Centre has been on Lumb Lane since the 1960s and currently serves chana puri, samosas, kebab naans, fish masala and mithai from morning until late.

Expect local food · quick service · south asian

Before you go No football admission or colours policy was found. It is a food recommendation on location and current menu strength, not a designated supporters’ venue.

Bradford curry-house food

Sheesh Mahal

Good for a proper Bradford curry · overnight visitors

For a proper curry rather than a quick market bite, Sheesh Mahal is still current on St Thomas’s Road. Its live menu covers pakora, kebabs, nihari, butter chicken and home-style lamb, and it passed a March 2026 hygiene inspection with five stars.

Expect curry house · sit down meal · local food

Before you go This is a meal-first detour, not an away pub. Current opening/menu evidence is strong, but football-day admission, colours and queue times are not published.

Food & drink
Current menu includes fish pakora, chicken boti, seekh kebabs, butter chicken, nihari, gosht on the bone and vegetable dishes.

Good for late arrivals · supporters avoiding pub access uncertainty

The no-detour fallback. Current visiting guidance confirms Tiffin-run kiosks in the away areas and card-only payment; recent ground information lists burgers, hot dogs, Pukka pies and pizza twists, with exact stock depending on the stand.

Expect inside ground · cashless · late arrival

Before you go TL Dallas kiosks cannot sell alcohol under current licensing. Allocation and kiosk range can change with demand, so check your ticketed stand before relying on a specific item.

WHERE TO STAY

Where should you stay?

Choose a base for the football and the rest of your visit.

Where to stay

Stay around Forster Square or the northern edge of Bradford city centre if you want a manageable walk to the match. That keeps the main stadium approach, North Parade and the railway station close together without needing a car on matchday. For a bigger choice of restaurants and an evening out, the City Park, Darley Street and central Bradford area is a better base. It is farther from the away turnstiles, but you can enjoy the city centre and return on foot after the match. North Parade is an especially convenient pre-match meeting area with established home-and-away supporter trade. Choose a hotel nearer Bradford Interchange if that is the station serving your onward route. The ground is still walkable, but remember the uphill section and check the last train if you are travelling home after an evening fixture.

North Parade: Bradford independent bars and football matchdays ↗

For most supporters, base yourself in central Bradford rather than looking for a hotel immediately beside Valley Parade. The Forster Square/Lower Kirkgate side is particularly practical for the football, while the City Park/Alhambra side is better if the evening after the match matters as much as the walk to the ground.

For the evening

North Parade is the most football-specific drinking cluster: Visit Bradford explicitly notes that it draws home and away supporters on Bradford City matchdays. For a broader night out, the City Park, Sunbridgewells, Darley Street and central bar/restaurant area gives more choice and later opening.

For the train

Bradford Forster Square is the most useful station for the stadium side of the city and sits beside the Midland Hotel and very close to Travelodge Bradford Central. Bradford Interchange is better placed for the southern city-centre hotels such as Leonardo and Premier Inn.

Hotels to compare

  • Midland Hotel BradfordMidland Hotel BradfordForster Square / northern city centreAll-round choice

Beside Bradford Forster Square, so it works particularly well for supporters arriving by train.

Bear in mind: Room condition is inconsistent: recent reviews range from refurbished, clean rooms to dated and worn rooms.

    Hotel details checked 2026-09-27
    More about this choice

About 0.7 miles from the stadium as the crow flies; the practical walk is roughly a quarter of an hour.

Well placed for North Parade before or after the match without giving up the wider city centre.

Current 2026 review evidence repeatedly praises staff, central location, spacious rooms and the historic building.

Free on-site parking is advertised by the hotel, subject to availability.

A September 2026 review reported no heating during a week-long stay and limited housekeeping.

An April 2026 reviewer reported corridor disturbance and a feeling of poor security on one floor; this appears isolated but is material.

Weekend rates can jump sharply. One sampled away-weekend date returned £219 and was excluded from the normal baseline as an outlier.

If the Midland is materially above roughly its normal £90–£120 sampled weekend band, Leonardo is the safer value fallback.

  • Travelodge Bradford CentralTravelodge Bradford CentralValley Road / Forster Square edgeFor the shortest ground journey

Independent location data places Valley Parade about 0.6 miles away.

Bear in mind: This is a no-frills Travelodge rather than a full-service hotel.

    Hotel details checked 2026-09-27
    More about this choice

Travelodge itself markets the hotel specifically for Bradford City supporters and as a short walk from the train station.

Tripadvisor’s current 2026 page is 4.2/5 from 806 reviews with strong location, cleanliness and value sub-scores.

Free guest parking is currently advertised by Travelodge, although spaces are limited and first come first served.

Usually the lowest-cost of the three primary choices in the direct-rate snapshots.

There is no full on-site restaurant; breakfast is a grab-and-go product and snacks/drinks are available at reception.

Rates are highly dynamic, so a cheap headline price does not guarantee a cheap Saturday.

Booking.com coverage exists as a Partner Offer/external-review property page, but direct Travelodge inventory is clearer and should be checked as well.

  • Leonardo Hotel BradfordLeonardo Hotel BradfordCity Park / Alhambra / Bradford LiveFor the evening

Excellent position for City Park, Bradford Live, the Alhambra, Sunbridgewells and central restaurants.

Bear in mind: Longer walk to Valley Parade than Midland or Travelodge.

    More about this choice

Still close enough to walk to Valley Parade rather than needing a taxi.

Full-service hotel with restaurant, bar and 24-hour reception.

Booking.com coverage and live date-specific pricing were straightforward to verify.

Sampled weekend pricing was comparatively stable, averaging about £80.

Recent reviews include room-condition and cleanliness complaints, including a serious September 2026 room-condition report.

Some reviewers describe bedrooms as dated and report weak air conditioning during hot weather.

Coach-party periods have generated complaints about slow bar/breakfast organisation.

Parking is nearby rather than a simple free hotel car park.
