Research checked 2026-10-14
Use Pokesdown for the shortest walk to Vitality Stadium if your train calls there. It is roughly a 15–20-minute walk via Christchurch Road, Gloucester Road and Kings Park, but the station has stairs and no step-free access to its platforms.
Plan a stay at AFC Bournemouth ↗Head for the visiting section in the Vitality East Stand, on the side facing Ted MacDougall Stand. Previous visiting guides identify blocks 21–24 and Turnstile F, with the approach from Boscombe and Pokesdown through Kings Park and round the east side of the ground. For 2026/27 the club has changed to perimeter entry gates, so follow the gate shown on your digital match ticket and the stewards rather than relying on the older Turnstile F instruction alone. The ticket office has also moved into the west car park, between the VIP gate and Gate B. From Bournemouth station, approach along Holdenhurst Road and Kings Park Drive. From Pokesdown, use Christchurch Road and Gloucester Road, then follow signs through Kings Park; allow extra time for searches.
Away Supporter Guide Vitality Stadium – 2025/26 season (historical parking and entrance information) ↗If you are driving, give yourself time to leave Kings Park on foot rather than joining the nearest stadium traffic queue. Sovereign Shopping Centre is a sensible return destination, with the operator promising access for one hour after the final whistle for every 2026/27 home match. Do not linger unnecessarily after the game if your car is on an upper level or if you have a long walk. If using an Avonbourne Academy space, its older guide warned of a post-match lock-up, but this year's rules have not been confirmed. Rail travellers should allow for crowds on the walk to Pokesdown or Bournemouth and check their train's actual stopping pattern. For evening fixtures, plan your last train and the final local bus before kick-off.
Parking – 2026/27 AFC Bournemouth matchday arrangements ↗Stay in Boscombe or close to Pokesdown if walking to the match matters most. Boscombe gives you access to Christchurch Road, local buses and the Sovereign Shopping Centre car park, with Kings Park within a manageable walk.

Compare the stay areas →Use Pokesdown for the shortest walk to Vitality Stadium if your train calls there. It is roughly a 15–20-minute walk via Christchurch Road, Gloucester Road and Kings Park, but the station has stairs and no step-free access to its platforms.
Bournemouth station is the more useful arrival point for many longer-distance services and has some step-free access to both platforms. From the south exit, follow Holdenhurst Road to the Kings Park Drive roundabout, then approach the stadium on foot; allow around 25–30 minutes or use a bus towards Boscombe.
There is no Underground or tram connection to the ground. Check your return train before the match, particularly after an evening kick-off, and do not assume every train stops at Pokesdown.

Use morebus m2 towards Boscombe if you want to shorten the journey from Bournemouth or Pokesdown. Boscombe bus station and Christchurch Road are useful stopping points, followed by a walk through the southern side of Kings Park to the visiting entrance.
The m2 runs between Poole and Southbourne via Bournemouth and Boscombe, with links to other local services. Check the operator's live stop and return times rather than assuming a bus waits at the ground; there is no stadium-front tram or Underground service.
For 2026/27, the club also advertises a free accessible shuttle between Bournemouth station and the stadium on matchdays. It operates in a pre- and post-match window, with details provided to disabled supporters directly.
Travel on your visiting club's official coach where possible, because the driver can follow the agreed matchday approach and parking instructions. AFC Bournemouth's visiting-stadium plan places the away coach area east of the ground, reached through Kings Park Drive, close to the away side.
The parking and coach approaches can be affected by temporary controls on Kings Park Drive and Thistlebarrow Road. Stay with the coach organiser's confirmed drop-off and collection arrangement rather than choosing an unverified road to meet it.
From the coach park, follow steward directions towards the East Stand and your ticket's current perimeter entrance. The club's older stadium map is useful for orientation but does not fix the exact collection point for every fixture.
Use Bournemouth station rather than Pokesdown if you need step-free rail access. Pokesdown has no step-free route to either platform, and its new lifts are not due to be completed until early 2028. Arrange rail assistance and your onward stadium journey before setting out.
Contact AFC Bournemouth's disability team before the fixture to confirm accessible seats, parking and the 2026/27 accessible shuttle from Bournemouth station. The club's latest matchday information identifies accessible perimeter gates and a Changing Places facility behind the East Stand.
An older away guide describes accessible spaces in stadium car parks, but that is not a guarantee of access under the new pre-booked system. Do not assume that a Blue Badge alone secures a matchday bay; use the club's allocation and steward instructions.

Stay in Boscombe or close to Pokesdown if walking to the match matters most. Boscombe gives you access to Christchurch Road, local buses and the Sovereign Shopping Centre car park, with Kings Park within a manageable walk. Choose the eastern side of Bournemouth town centre or somewhere near Bournemouth railway station if you are arriving on a long-distance train. You will have a better transport base and broader evening choices, but the stadium is a longer walk and you should plan a bus or taxi when necessary. There is no compelling reason to stay immediately alongside the stadium unless a specific booking suits you. For an evening game, prioritise a hotel with a practical return from the ground rather than assuming Pokesdown's smaller station will suit your last train.
Getting Here – parking and bus connections ↗For most overnight supporters, the eastern side of Bournemouth town centre is the best compromise: it keeps Bournemouth railway station and the main evening options within reach without pushing you as far west as the seafront hotels around West Cliff. If walking to the stadium is the priority, stay in Boscombe instead. The Lodge of Heavy Leisure is the strongest researched close-to-ground option.
Bournemouth town centre is the stronger post-match base. Visit Bournemouth lists the Town Centre as its largest bar/club cluster and describes The Triangle as a nightlife hotspot. Boscombe has its own pubs, food and O2 Academy scene, but it is a smaller evening offer.
Bournemouth station is the more useful mainline arrival point for a town-centre stay and has better accessibility than Pokesdown. Pokesdown is closer to Vitality Stadium for match access. Supporters should not assume that a central hotel is also a short walk from the ground.
Holiday Inn Bournemouth by IHGEast side of Bournemouth town centre / Bath RoadAll-round choiceBournemouth railway station is about 0.5 miles away according to IHG, useful for supporters arriving by train.
Bear in mind: It is not a stadium-area hotel; the straight-line separation from verified hotel/stadium coordinates is about 1.7 miles and the practical walking route is longer.

Recent reviews include occasional complaints about bed comfort, parking cost and minor room/maintenance issues.
The Lodge of Heavy LeisureBoscombe, near Boscombe Beach and O2 AcademyFor the shortest ground journeyBooking.com's Dean Court landmark listing places it about 0.8 miles from the ground.
Bear in mind: Only eight rooms are advertised by the hotel, so availability can disappear quickly and rates can be less stable than at a large chain.

Booking.com currently shows a very strong 9.2/10 score, with cleanliness and comfort around 9.6.
Restaurant and bar are in the same building, useful after a late return or for a relaxed football weekend.

It is not in Bournemouth's main town-centre/Triangle nightlife cluster.
TripAdvisor has a smaller review sample than Booking.com and includes one serious August 2026 complaint about upkeep, Wi-Fi, a sauna and an exterior door.
The overall evidence is strongly positive, but the recent serious complaint prevents a 'high' confidence rating.

Free hot breakfast is included according to Hilton.
Secure covered parking is available, with in/out privileges.
The straight-line hotel-to-ground separation is about 2.2 miles; the real walking route is longer, so bus/taxi is the sensible matchday plan for most guests.
Parking is charged: Hilton lists £13.50 Sun-Thu and £15.50 Fri-Sat.
