ibis London Shepherds Bush - Hammersmith
Shepherd's Bush / West 12
The strongest all-round MatchdayHotels choice for most QPR visitors: a dependable three-star chain with a materially better current review profile than several nearer budget options, still walkable to Loftus Road, and well placed for Shepherd's Bush Green, Westfield and onward transport.
- Current Booking.com score around 8.2 and Tripadvisor around 4.3/5 give it a stronger cross-platform quality signal than many similarly located budget/mid-range options.
- About 0.7 miles from Loftus Road, so a post-match walk is realistic and avoids relying on a short Tube or bus hop through crowded local streets.
Tripadvisor's current Loftus Road proximity page places the hotel at about 0.7 miles from the stadium. The walking time is a practical editorial estimate rather than a route-engine measurement.
It is roughly twice the landmark distance of Hotel Shepherds Bush London, so supporters who value the shortest possible walk may prefer the closer option.

Hotel Shepherds Bush London
Uxbridge Road / Shepherd's Bush Market
The closest practical hotel choice we are comfortable putting forward. Booking.com places it about 1,900 ft from Loftus Road, and it sits beside Shepherd's Bush Market station on the same broad Uxbridge Road corridor as the ground.
- Shepherd's Bush Market station is immediately useful for Circle/Hammersmith & City services, while the Green and Westfield are still close.
- Its small scale suits supporters who want a bed near the ground rather than a large destination hotel.
Booking.com's current Loftus Road hotel page lists the property at about 1,900 ft from the stadium (roughly 0.36 miles). Walking time is a practical editorial estimate, not a route-engine measurement.
Overall Booking.com score is around 7.9: respectable, but less consistent than the ibis or Hoxton.

The Hoxton, Shepherds Bush
Shepherd's Bush Green
The best choice if the overnight stay is part of the night out rather than just somewhere to sleep. It sits directly on Shepherd's Bush Green, has its own lively bar and Chet's restaurant, and is still only about 2,350 ft from Loftus Road by Booking.com's landmark measure. The trade-off is price: it usually sits above the more practical football-first choices.
- Strongest current reputation of the three primary picks: Booking.com around 8.8 and Tripadvisor around 4.5/5.
- Directly in the Shepherd's Bush Green evening cluster, with an in-house wraparound bar and Chet's restaurant.
Booking.com's current Loftus Road hotel page lists the property at about 2,350 ft from the stadium (roughly 0.45 miles). Walking time is a practical editorial estimate, not a route-engine measurement.
Usually the priciest of the primary recommendations.

Parking
Driving & road restrictions
If you must drive, head for a pre-booked private space or Westfield London rather than setting your sat-nav to the stadium. The A40 and West Cross Route provide approaches to Westfield, where you can leave the car and walk to the match without attempting the residential roads immediately around Loftus Road.
QPR closes nearby streets around kick-off. The club's guide says closures generally start about 90 minutes before the match, while the borough's traffic schedule allows earlier restrictions and parking suspensions on named streets. Never assume a route to a booked space will remain accessible just because it appears open on an ordinary day.
Shepherd's Bush is inside London's ULEZ, so check your vehicle before setting off. It is outside the central Congestion Charge area on the usual direct approach, but travelling through central London could bring a separate charge.
- Stadium postcode
- W12 7PJ
- Preferred driving destination
- Westfield London, Ariel Way, W12 7GF, or confirmed pre-booked private parking
- Westfield main approach
- West Cross Route and Holland Park roundabout, or authorised Wood Lane entry
- Matchday closures
- Stadium guide reports closures from around 90 minutes before kick-off; borough powers permit earlier and longer restrictions
- Named restricted roads
- South Africa Road, Ellerslie Road, Loftus Road and Dorando Close are listed in borough event orders
- ULEZ
- Applies throughout London except Christmas Day; non-compliant charge £12.50/day unless exempt
- Congestion Charge
- Loftus Road is west of the central charging zone; route via central London may cross charge boundary
Parking & park-and-ride
Book a legitimate parking space or use Westfield London rather than rely on finding free parking beside Loftus Road. The stadium has almost no public parking, and matchday road closures make searching the closest streets a poor plan. Advance booking is most useful when you need a known location or expect to arrive shortly before kick-off.
Westfield London, W12 7GF, is the simplest pay-on-arrival option. Its public car parks have thousands of spaces, open for entry from 5am until 3am with exits available around the clock. Allow roughly 10–20 minutes to reach the School End away turnstiles. A four-to-six-hour stay currently costs £11.50 at weekends and £9.50 on weekdays.
Free parking is possible in some signed shared-use bays outside controlled hours, but we could not confirm a specific bay to recommend. Zone JJ, covering streets such as Stanlake Road, Tunis Road and part of Ellerslie Road, operates daily until 9pm. Zone J farther west generally has weekday controls only, while the more distant Zone N is also usually weekday-controlled. Individual bay signs and matchday suspensions still decide whether parking is lawful.
If you prefer to reserve a private driveway, JustPark lists bookable options around Shepherd's Bush. Check the exact address, permitted dates, entry instructions, cancellation rules and the entire stay before paying. Westfield also offers pre-booking, although the booking terms must be checked to establish what is guaranteed.
Arrive about 90 minutes before kick-off and budget at least four hours on the vehicle, including both walks and full-time delays. Do not leave your car in a supermarket's customer-only bays without explicit permission covering football and that duration. For evening games, Sundays and bank holidays, never assume that an ordinary weekday or weekend parking sign overrides a matchday suspension.
- Parking verdict
- Book a lawful off-street space if timing matters; Westfield pay-on-arrival is the reliable named fallback; do not depend on residential free parking
- Free option — area
- Potentially signed shared-use bays in zone J west/south of zone JJ and zone N north of the A40 outside their controlled hours; no individually confirmed bay
- Free option — named candidate streets
- Eynham Road, Caverswall Street and Glenroy Street are identified in Zone N historical council decision; weekend bay rights and present suspensions not individually verified
- Legal restrictions — area
- Zone JJ operates Monday–Sunday 9am–9pm; named streets include entire Stanlake Road, Tunis Road, Arminger Road, Abdale Road and part of Ellerslie Road
- Legal restrictions — zone J
- Remaining zone J generally Monday–Friday 9am–5pm; street-level signs, bay type and temporary orders still govern
- Legal restrictions — zone N
- Generally Monday–Friday 9am–5pm and otherwise free in eligible visitor bays according to council consultation; exceptions and individual bay restrictions must be checked
- Legal restrictions — zone NN
- Monday–Saturday 9am–5pm; council consultation describes free visitor parking outside those hours; no individual bay certified
- Legal restrictions — temporary closures
- South Africa Road, Ellerslie Road, Loftus Road and Dorando Close subject to football-related road closures, waiting bans or suspensions
- Matchday availability — area
- Residents report heavy parking competition in zone J/JJ during QPR home games; no guaranteed spaces
- Walk — Westfield
- Allow roughly 10–20 minutes to the School End away entrance depending on car park, pedestrian route and crowd
- Arrive by — area
- Aim to be parked around 90 minutes before kick-off; leave time for pre-match traffic controls
- Paid fallback
- Westfield London public car parks, Ariel Way, W12 7GF
- Westfield weekend tariff
- £9.50 for 2–4 hours or £11.50 for 4–6 hours including bank holidays
- Westfield weekday tariff
- £8.50 for 2–4 hours or £9.50 for 4–6 hours
- Westfield hours
- Entry 05:00–03:00, exit 24/7; advertised height limit 2.1m
- Westfield availability
- Over 4,000 spaces across car parks A, B and C; no matchday space guarantee established
- Booking recommendation
- Book a legal private driveway if wanting certainty; Westfield W-Park offers a pre-book route subject to its own conditions
- Supermarket restriction
- No verified permission for matchday use of standalone customer-only supermarket spaces near the ground; do not recommend them
- Total dwell time
- Allow at least four hours for the match visit; choose a longer booking for pre-match activities or late departure
- After the match
- Expect pedestrian controls and traffic congestion; west/north-facing off-street parking avoids driving into restricted immediate stadium approaches

Matchday advice: Book a legitimate parking space or use Westfield London rather than rely on finding free parking beside Loftus Road. The stadium has almost no public parking, and matchday road closures make searching the closest streets a poor plan.
Trains
Rail, Underground & tram
Use White City on the Central line if you want the shortest straightforward Tube walk. QPR puts the stadium about five minutes away, although you should still allow time to reach the School End entrance rather than just the first stadium wall.
Wood Lane, on the Circle and Hammersmith & City lines, is another convenient arrival, about seven minutes from the ground in the club guide. It has lifts and a boarding ramp arrangement, making it the better Tube option to investigate if you need step-free travel.
Shepherd's Bush has both a Central line station and an Overground station, around 15 minutes from the stadium. Choose it if you want to meet friends around Shepherd's Bush Green first; check your actual train and last connection before a midweek match.

Station to ground & away entrance
Head for Ellerslie Road and turnstile 2 if your ticket is for the usual upper-tier away section in the School End. From White City, use Wood Lane and South Africa Road to approach the stadium, then follow the stewards round to Ellerslie Road.
QPR sometimes opens the lower School End when visiting allocations are larger. In that case, its stadium guide also identifies turnstile 3 on South Africa Road, so use the entrance stated on your ticket rather than assuming all visiting fans take the same turnstile.
The Wood Lane Estate shortcut opposite White City station is gated for residents on matchdays. Keep to the public streets and allow extra time to navigate the short, busy roads immediately around the ground.

Coaches
Away coaches
Travel with your visiting club's official coach if you want to avoid sorting out London parking. The borough's football traffic schedule reserves coach parking on Dorando Close, off South Africa Road, but your organiser should confirm the actual drop-off and collection arrangements for your match.
The away turnstiles are around the other side of the compact stadium on Ellerslie Road, so follow stewards rather than assuming you will be dropped at the entrance. The coach area and its surrounding roads are subject to closures and controlled departures.
If anyone in your party needs a shorter walk or accessible vehicle access, ask the visiting club to arrange this with QPR before travelling. An ordinary coach-space allocation does not by itself guarantee an accessible drop-off at the away gate.
- Designated coach parking street
- Dorando Close, accessed from South Africa Road, subject to current matchday instructions
- Coach road control
- Dorando Close closure and coach-bay designation can start up to four hours before an event
- Historical coach boarding arrangement
- Coach drop-off and pick-up reported at Dorando Close; reconfirm with visiting-club organiser
- Away stand versus coach side
- Away turnstile 2 is on Ellerslie Road rather than directly beside the coach street
- Accessible coach drop-off
- Must be arranged with host club and away travel organiser before the fixture
Buses
Buses & local travel
The Tube is normally simpler than taking a bus all the way to Loftus Road. White City, Wood Lane and Shepherd's Bush give you several approaches, so choose your stop around your London connection and the part of Shepherd's Bush you want to visit before kick-off.
If you need a bus, services 72, 207 and 260 serve Bloemfontein Road on the White City side of the stadium. Walk the remainder, keeping in mind that buses can be diverted when the nearby roads close for football.
Do not follow older away guides that tell you to use the 283. TfL decided to withdraw that route and change services 72 and N72 instead. Check your outward and return stop using current TfL journey planning.
- Current bus corridor
- Bloemfontein Road near White City
- Routes listed at Bloemfontein stop
- 72, 207, 260 and relevant night services
- Bus 283
- Withdrawn following TfL route-change decision; older QPR guide is out of date
- Route 72
- Re-routed to serve White City Estate under TfL changes
- Bus diversions
- South Africa Road and surrounding streets may close before and after matches
- TfL wheelchair access
- TfL bus network has wheelchair-accessible vehicles; confirm route and boarding details
Accessibility
Accessible journeys
Arrange accessible match tickets through your own club before travelling, and tell them about any assistance you need on arrival. QPR lists ten visiting wheelchair spaces in School End block Z6, with accessible toilets, but the precise entrance and companion arrangements should be confirmed for your allocation.
Wood Lane is the recommended Tube station for wheelchair access. It has lifts and manual boarding-ramp provision; from there the route to the stadium takes around ten minutes in the accessibility guide. Do not assume White City offers the same step-free access.
There is no general stadium car park to rely on for away supporters. Westfield provides Blue Badge bays and a four-hour validation concession, but allow enough time to avoid extra charges. Ask QPR in advance about accessible coach drop-off or taxi arrangements, especially while South Africa Road is closed.
- Away wheelchair accommodation
- 10 spaces in School End block Z6
- Step-free route choice
- Wood Lane has lifts and manual boarding ramp arrangements
- Wood Lane accessible walking time
- Around ten minutes in older club accessibility guidance
- Accessible match tickets
- Arrange through the visiting club; confirm entrance, location and companion needs
- Accessible public stadium parking
- No general public away parking provision at Loftus Road
- Alternative accessible parking
- Westfield London has Blue Badge parking bays
- Westfield Blue Badge concession
- Four hours free with valid badge validation at guest services; later charges may apply
- Audio-described commentary
- Pre-book through QPR operations@qpr.co.uk; equipment may be collected at Alton House
- Accessible transport drop-off
- Ask host and travel operator to confirm pre-closure drop-off or Bloemfontein Road junction option
After the match
After the match
Walk back to White City or Wood Lane rather than arrange a taxi immediately outside Loftus Road. Matchday restrictions on South Africa Road, Ellerslie Road and neighbouring streets can remain in place while crowds disperse, so a pickup near a closed road may leave you waiting.
If returning to Shepherd's Bush, use the public streets rather than the Wood Lane Estate shortcut, which QPR closes to non-residents on matchdays. Allow a margin for station crowds and check your final onward train, especially after a late kick-off or a cup tie that could go to extra time.
Drivers should expect delays retrieving and exiting vehicles near White City and the A40. Westfield's public car parks permit exit around the clock, but that does not mean the roads outside will be clear immediately after full-time.
- Walk to Tube
- White City, Wood Lane and Shepherds Bush provide different return routes
- Closed cut-through
- Wood Lane Estate shortcut unavailable to non-residents on matchdays
- Road restrictions after full-time
- Restrictions may continue up to two hours after the event or until roads are declared safe
- Westfield exit hours
- Exit available 24 hours, irrespective of car-park entry window
- Rail connection caution
- Leave a sensible buffer for pedestrian dispersal and last trains on evening games
- Coach return
- Board at the operator-confirmed collection point; Dorando Close is the borough coach-bay designation
Where to stay
Stay in Shepherd's Bush or White City for a football-first visit. Both put you close to the ground, with Tube stations, food and the Westfield shopping area nearby, so you can walk to the match without arranging a taxi or worrying about the stadium streets closing.
Shepherd's Bush Green is a better base if pubs, restaurants and an evening out matter more than the shortest walk. It also works well for Overground and Central line arrivals, whereas staying by White City makes the final walk and the next-morning Westfield access simpler.
For a wider London weekend, Hammersmith is another practical interchange, but it adds an onward Tube or bus trip to the stadium. Decide on the return route first for midweek fixtures rather than pay extra to be close to the ground when the last connection will still be tight.
- Football-first stay area
- White City / Shepherds Bush close to the ground and Tube access
- Evening food and drink area
- Shepherds Bush Green and Uxbridge Road corridor
- Rail-oriented base
- Shepherds Bush for Central line and Overground connections
- Alternative interchange area
- Hammersmith, with onward travel needed to White City and Loftus Road

QPR is best treated as a Shepherd’s Bush away day rather than a hunt for a pub beside Loftus Road. White City and Wood Lane are quickest for the turnstiles, but rail and Overground arrivals who want a pre-match drink should meet around Shepherd’s Bush Green. Belushi’s remains the clearest designated away bar, with Sindercombe Social the strongest second option; the pubs closest to the ground are mostly Rangers territory and some doors check tickets as well as colours. Pavilion on Wood Lane is a useful family-friendly fallback, though its football policy is less explicit. For food, Mr Falafel and Bian Dang in Shepherd’s Bush Market are quick and independent, Abu Zaad works for a proper Middle Eastern meal, and Esarn Kheaw suits evening games. Away fans are normally in the School End Upper Tier, with extra lower-tier capacity for larger followings. The away kiosks sell food, soft drinks and usually alcohol, but London derbies can bring tighter police-led restrictions. For overnight stays, Shepherd’s Bush/Westfield is the most practical base; Hammersmith is the sensible wider-hotel alternative.

Food & quick bites
Where to grab a bite, have a proper meal or try the local matchday favourite.
Mr Falafel
One of the best quick-food stops on the route: fresh Palestinian falafel made to order at the market entrance, with fast service and a menu that works especially well for vegetarian and vegan supporters.
Bian Dang - Shepherd's Bush Market
A stronger meal than a snack without committing to a restaurant: Taiwanese rice boxes with chicken, pork or oyster mushrooms, served from the market on the direct Shepherd’s Bush approach.
Abu Zaad - Shepherd's Bush
A reliable proper-meal choice near the away-pub meeting area: Syrian and Lebanese food, long daily opening and quick wraps if you do not have time for a full mezze.
Esarn Kheaw
The best proper-meal option close to the stadium for an evening game: a long-running family Isan restaurant with serious regional Thai cooking rather than generic matchday food.
MATRADE Loftus Road - School End away kiosks
The reliable fallback after entry: QPR documents two away kiosks with food, soft drinks and alcohol. The concourse is famously tight, so eating before the ground is usually the more comfortable option.
The Hawk's Nest
A useful food-led market stop rather than an away pub: sourdough pizza, a covered garden and enough space for groups. It works best when you want lunch and a drink without entering a Rangers-heavy boozer.
