FIXTURE STORY

FOLLOW SALFORD CITY TO FLEETWOOD TOWN

This fixture is still months away, on 27 April. Today's table is useful background, but it is not a prediction of the positions either side will hold on matchday. If Salford City are involved in the promotion picture by then, this could be an away result with real weight behind it.

Salford City are 1st in League Two after 12 league games, with 25 points. Set that against the summer expectation: promotion favourites.

Salford City come into the current picture with five wins across their last five league games, worth fifteen points from a possible fifteen. Fleetwood Town's last five recorded league games brought one win, one draw and three defeats: four points from a possible fifteen. Those are results available now; the form heading into this fixture may be very different.

Fleetwood Town are 18th in League Two after 12 league games, with 14 points. Before the season, they were seen as outsiders for the play-offs.

The destination is Highbury Stadium in Fleetwood. Work back from kick-off when deciding whether this is a day trip or a night away. Base yourself on the Fleetwood Esplanade if the football trip comes first. It avoids a post-match transport dependency and still puts Lord Street, the seafront and the town centre within a short walk. If a proper late night matters more than walking back from Highbury, Blackpool North/Talbot Gateway is the stronger option because the tram links the ground area directly to Blackpool North. Check the matchday travel arrangements again nearer the fixture.

An away day is a chance to follow Salford City somewhere different and make a proper day of the football. Check ticket access and the confirmed kick-off before booking; leave enough time either side of the game to enjoy the visit as well as support the team.

Table and form checked 22 October.

Savoy

Savoy

Fleetwood Esplanade / town-centre edge

This is the Fleetwood choice MatchdayHotels can recommend with the least hesitation. It is close enough to walk to Highbury, sits on the useful Esplanade/town-centre side of Fleetwood and combines unusually strong current guest feedback with sensible sampled prices. The recent evidence repeatedly mentions cleanliness, friendly hands-on owners, breakfast and sea views rather than simply praising location.

  • Tripadvisor's hotel-near-Highbury listing places it about 0.8 miles from the stadium, making it the closest strong conventional hotel found.
  • Recent 2026 Tripadvisor reviews repeatedly praise cleanliness, the owners, breakfast and sea views; the Tripadvisor aggregate is 4.7/5 from 205 reviews.
The match journey

Tripadvisor lists the Savoy about 0.8 miles from Highbury. A supporter ground guide describes it as around a 15-minute walk; allow roughly 15-20 minutes in normal conditions. The route does not require a rail or tram connection.

The trade-off

The building is step/stair-access only and Booking.com explicitly warns that bedrooms may be unsuitable for guests with limited mobility; a recent 2026 review also confirms there is no lift.

WHY STAY HERE?

Savoy

Fleetwood Esplanade / town-centre edge

Our view

This is the Fleetwood choice MatchdayHotels can recommend with the least hesitation. It is close enough to walk to Highbury, sits on the useful Esplanade/town-centre side of Fleetwood and combines unusually strong current guest feedback with sensible sampled prices. The recent evidence repeatedly mentions cleanliness, friendly hands-on owners, breakfast and sea views rather than simply praising location.

Why it suits this trip

  • Tripadvisor's hotel-near-Highbury listing places it about 0.8 miles from the stadium, making it the closest strong conventional hotel found.
  • Booking.com currently scores it 9.3/10, including 9.6 for cleanliness, 9.6 for value and 9.7 for location.
  • Recent 2026 Tripadvisor reviews repeatedly praise cleanliness, the owners, breakfast and sea views; the Tripadvisor aggregate is 4.7/5 from 205 reviews.
  • It is on the Esplanade but still within easy reach of Fleetwood town-centre pubs, food and the tram.
  • The six-date Booking.com sample was unusually stable at £75-£85, with no weekend premium in the sampled non-match nights.

Getting to the ground

Tripadvisor lists the Savoy about 0.8 miles from Highbury. A supporter ground guide describes it as around a 15-minute walk; allow roughly 15-20 minutes in normal conditions. The route does not require a rail or tram connection.

Pubs and the evening

Useful for a few pubs and food after the match, but Fleetwood is not a major late-night destination. The Savoy's own bar is only advertised as open on Friday and Saturday nights.

Arriving by train

Fleetwood has no National Rail station. Blackpool North connects to the Fleetwood tram line; Poulton-le-Fylde is another nearby rail gateway but requires onward road/bus travel.

The trade-offs

  • The building is step/stair-access only and Booking.com explicitly warns that bedrooms may be unsuitable for guests with limited mobility; a recent 2026 review also confirms there is no lift.
  • Booking.com states that the bar is closed Sunday to Thursday, so this is not the best option for an on-site midweek drinking session.
  • It is adults-only, so it is unsuitable for supporters travelling with children.
  • The hotel's independently listed direct website returned a 502 error during research. The hotel itself is clearly operating through current Booking.com and Tripadvisor evidence, but Booking.com is the safer online booking route at present.

Research price context

Typically about £75-£85 on the sampled midweek and ordinary weekend nights. The sample showed no meaningful weekend premium, but match weekends can tighten availability sharply.

Holiday Inn Blackpool by IHG

Holiday Inn Blackpool by IHG

Blackpool North / Talbot Gateway

This is deliberately not the closest choice. It wins the nightlife category because it turns the post-match tram into the journey back to the hotel and then leaves the supporter beside Blackpool North, central Blackpool and the hotel's own Platform 9 bar rather than finishing the night in Fleetwood's smaller pub market.

  • IHG confirms direct tram access at the hotel and a location at 85 Talbot Road beside Blackpool North.
  • Highbury is about a 3-minute walk from Lindel Road tram stop; the current timetable shows direct Lindel Road-to-North Station journeys of roughly 24 minutes on North Station services.
The match journey

Use the tram rather than walk. Moovit lists Lindel Road tram stop about 194 metres/3 minutes from Highbury. On the current timetable, a representative direct Lindel Road to North Station journey is about 24 minutes; the hotel is beside Blackpool North/Talbot Gateway. Allow waiting time after the match.

The trade-off

It is around 6.7 miles from Highbury in a straight line and is not a sensible walk; the tram is part of the matchday plan.

WHY STAY HERE?

Holiday Inn Blackpool by IHG

Blackpool North / Talbot Gateway

Our view

This is deliberately not the closest choice. It wins the nightlife category because it turns the post-match tram into the journey back to the hotel and then leaves the supporter beside Blackpool North, central Blackpool and the hotel's own Platform 9 bar rather than finishing the night in Fleetwood's smaller pub market. Current reputation is excellent and the station-side location also makes it the easiest rail-based overnight option.

Why it suits this trip

  • IHG confirms direct tram access at the hotel and a location at 85 Talbot Road beside Blackpool North.
  • Highbury is about a 3-minute walk from Lindel Road tram stop; the current timetable shows direct Lindel Road-to-North Station journeys of roughly 24 minutes on North Station services.
  • VisitBlackpool describes the hotel as next to Blackpool North, a short walk from the town centre and seafront, with Platform 9 Bar & Kitchen on site.
  • Booking.com currently scores the hotel 9.2/10 from more than 3,500 reviews.
  • The latest September 2026 Tripadvisor sample is overwhelmingly positive on cleanliness, staff, comfort and central location.

Getting to the ground

Use the tram rather than walk. Moovit lists Lindel Road tram stop about 194 metres/3 minutes from Highbury. On the current timetable, a representative direct Lindel Road to North Station journey is about 24 minutes; the hotel is beside Blackpool North/Talbot Gateway. Allow waiting time after the match.

Pubs and the evening

This is the category winner because the hotel is next to Blackpool North and close to the town centre/seafront, with an on-site sports bar and a much broader evening choice than Fleetwood. It is the sensible trade when nightlife matters more than stadium proximity.

Arriving by train

The hotel is immediately beside Blackpool North. Blackpool Transport's North Station tram branch provides a direct link to and from Fleetwood on selected through services.

The trade-offs

  • It is around 6.7 miles from Highbury in a straight line and is not a sensible walk; the tram is part of the matchday plan.
  • A direct tram to the North Station branch does not run on every single tram path, so supporters should check the live timetable after the final whistle rather than assuming the next tram serves the station branch.
  • Blackpool pricing is more volatile than Fleetwood. The researched baseline deliberately uses quieter January/February dates and should not be read as a summer, Illuminations or major-event rate.
  • This option sacrifices Fleetwood atmosphere and the simplicity of walking back to a local hotel.

Research price context

On the deliberately off-peak sample, roughly £60-£80 midweek and about £80-£85 at ordinary weekends. Treat this as an off-peak baseline: Blackpool event, school-holiday, summer and Illuminations demand can be materially higher.

Read our hotel research above, then compare live availability. Research price context is not a current room quote.

What to expect at Fleetwood Town

All the key information for Salford City supporters heading to Highbury Stadium — from the ground and atmosphere to food, access, parking and matchday practicalities.

YOUR AWAY DAY · Highbury Stadium

The ground

Salford City at Fleetwood Town

Compact, mixed-era and still partly terraced. The newer Parkside side of the ground speaks to the EFL rise; the Percy Ronson terrace and the site's older layers stop it feeling like a generic new build.

Recorded capacity
5,327

Views from the away section

Terrace sightlines are generally excellent and pillar-free.

Supporter observation

A September 2025 Walsall away thread describes Fleetwood's Percy Ronson Stand as covered, pillar-free and offering a very good view.

Around the stands

Supporter observation

Highbury has been developed in stages rather than as a uniform bowl, giving its individual stands noticeably different character; away supporters can experience either standing behind the goal or seating in a newer structure.

Why the ground matters

Highbury is one of Fleetwood's strongest pieces of continuity. The present club is young in corporate terms, but the site has staged Fleetwood football since 1939. Its redevelopment happened around the rise rather than through a move to a remote replacement stadium.

Percy Ronson Stand

Covered terracing named for an older Fleetwood player; currently used for away supporters in ground-guide information.

Parkside / modern redevelopment

A visible product of the club's rapid modern growth and need to meet higher-level standards.

Capacity

Current ground-guide figure: 5,327. Treat operational capacities and allocations as changeable.

Atmosphere & acoustics

Salford City at Fleetwood Town

Compact scale and standing support help noise.

From the supporters

Supporter observation

The same Walsall thread characterises Fleetwood as a welcoming away day and notes the away section as part of the positive experience.

Fleetwood Till I Die

A conventional club-loyalty chant listed in current ground-guide material.

Scared of Fish

A more club-specific fish joke listed by a current ground guide; useful colour but its origin is not securely sourced.

Red Army / Come On Fleetwood

Simple matchday chants reported in current visitor material; repertoire can change.

Drum-led home support

Supporter interpretation

A 2020 long-read documented a young drummer helping drive the atmosphere. Treat as a dated observation, not a guaranteed feature of every 2026 match.

Homegrown recognition

Supporter interpretation

Billy Crellin's 'one of our own' reception in 2020 is a well-documented example of local pride attaching to a player who grew up close to Highbury.

YOUR AWAY DAY · Highbury Stadium

Food & drink

Salford City at Fleetwood Town

Fleetwood has no railway station, so rail groups should meet at Blackpool North before the final leg rather than try to rendezvous at a non-existent Fleetwood station. The tram takes about 40 minutes and buses 1/14 about 30; Stanley Road is the ground-side stop, while London Street’s northbound tram platform is currently closed. At Highbury, Jim’s Bar is the simplest mixed-supporter option, though admission can be fixture-specific and chanting is barred.

Food and drink around the ground

Strawberry Gardens is the clearest pub recommendation: it currently calls itself Fleetwood Town’s official away pub and sits roughly eight minutes from the ground. Three Lights, Queens and Kings Arms are alternatives, but no current venue-specific colours policy was found. Food is unusually strong for a small ground: Highbury Chippy is opposite the stadium, Pisces offers a sit-down chippy on Poulton Road, and the cashless away kiosks sell pies and pasties.

Parkside away seats can buy alcohol; Percy Ronson terrace cannot. For overnight trips, Fleetwood seafront works locally, while Blackpool is the practical rail base.

Jim's Bar

The easiest pre-match pint once you reach Highbury. Current Fleetwood guidance welcomes both home and away supporters, with food and live sport, but separate fixture material makes clear that away admission can still be restricted.

Accessibility

Salford City at Fleetwood Town

Contact Fleetwood Town before travelling if you need a wheelchair place, accessible entry or parking. The club-supplied Level Playing Field record describes seven away wheelchair positions and only one designated away parking space; even that is subject to operational needs, so it must not be assumed available. The 2025/26 club guide names Phil Bowker as Disabled Liaison Officer, with contact through the club on 01253 775080 or by email.

Accessible journeys

Ask which arrival route suits your away stand and whether a drop-off can be arranged before travelling. Highbury has two accessible toilets allocated to the away side in the club-supplied accessibility information, and the Parkside kiosks have low counters. Marine Hall and Central Car Park have designated accessible spaces, but their distance to the stadium means they are not an equivalent substitute for an agreed close drop-off.

Rail, Underground & tram

Trams towards Fleetwood serve the Stanley Road and Lindel Road area close to Highbury; check which tram serves Blackpool North rather than assuming every seafront tram branches into the rail station. Poulton-le-Fylde is another rail gateway but does not have a direct tram connection to the stadium. It makes more sense with a planned taxi or local bus, particularly for a group. Check the return tram and mainline train times before booking an evening trip.

Blackpool bus alternative
Services 1 and 14 serve Fleetwood from the Blackpool area; for example, journey planners show service 1 from Pleasant Street to Nelson Court and service 14 towards Agnew Road. Check the actual boarding point and timetable rather than assuming both depart at the rail station.

Station to ground & away entrance

Travelling by rail means changing to local transport: Fleetwood has no National Rail station. At Blackpool North, use the North Station tram interchange and check that your Fleetwood-bound departure serves it. Stanley Road is the usual tram stop for Highbury, with Lindel Road another nearby option. Follow the local streets towards the ground on Park Avenue beside Memorial Park.

The walk is short, but the old tram-stop figures were straight-line postcode measurements, not measured walks to either away turnstile. Individual pavement surfaces, dropped kerbs and step-free street routes have not been surveyed. For a Percy Ronson standing ticket, head to visiting turnstiles 1–3 at Hatfield Avenue and Highbury Avenue. For Parkside away seating, use turnstiles 1–2 by the club shop on Park Avenue.

These are distinct entrances, so check the stand on your ticket before walking around the ground. Visiting clubs usually advise turnstiles opening 90 minutes before kick-off, but follow any match-specific instruction. Wheelchair users should arrange and confirm their entrance with the Fleetwood ticket office before travelling.

Buses & local travel

Take the tram towards Fleetwood from Blackpool North or the Blackpool seafront, then get off at Stanley Road or Lindel Road for the short walk to Highbury. Fleetwood’s own guide also identifies Blackpool buses 1 and 14, although the right boarding point depends on where you join the service. Blackpool Transport currently shows trams running through to Fleetwood Ferry, but the northbound platform at London Street is closed while scaffolding remains.

Use Stanley Road or the other signed operational stop rather than relying on a northbound departure from London Street. For an evening fixture, check the last tram and your connecting train before leaving home. Blackpool Transport also publishes late-night engineering changes, so the journey home can differ from the outward service.

YOUR AWAY DAY · Highbury Stadium

Parking

Salford City at Fleetwood Town

Free parking is realistic at Fleetwood Town, and you usually do not need to book if you are happy to walk. Choose a council-run seafront car park rather than gamble on a residential road. Wyre Council confirms free parking within walking distance. Start with Marine Hall and Leisure Centre car park on The Esplanade, FY7 6HF. It has 122 standard car bays and 12 disabled bays, with visiting guides suggesting roughly 15–20 minutes to Highbury.

Parking & park-and-ride

Central Car Park on The Esplanade, FY7 6QE, is another free option but has only 32 standard car bays. Spaces are not guaranteed. Gordon Road and Addison Road are regularly mentioned by visiting clubs for nearby street parking. However, I could not verify which individual sections are free of restrictions for a full matchday stay. Check signs and avoid obstructing residents or driveways.

If both free car parks are full, Albert Street car park, FY7 6AH, is a clear paid fallback. Wyre Council lists £3.80 for the daytime long-stay ticket and separate overnight charges. Custom House Lane is another council-run paid option. Alternatively, pre-book a private driveway for a shorter walk. Aim to park 60–90 minutes before kick-off, especially for a bigger away following.

Allow about four hours overall for arriving, the walk each way, the match and departure, and longer for extra time. Do not use Asda on Cop Lane or another supermarket for football unless the operator expressly permits it and the stay limit covers the whole visit. For evening or Sunday football the council’s free car parks remain the simplest starting point, but check the signs and any barrier restrictions on arrival.

In particular, Marine Hall has height barriers which the council says are closed at night. A pre-booked private space is sensible if you need late access or certainty.

Parking verdict
Free public council car parks are realistic; booking normally unnecessary if willing to walk 15–20 minutes. Nearby unrestricted street sections not legally verified.

Driving & road restrictions

Use Highbury Stadium, Park Avenue, Fleetwood FY7 6TX for the general destination, but set your sat-nav to the actual car park once chosen. Fleetwood’s route from the motorway is M6 Junction 32, M55 Junction 3, then A585 towards Fleetwood. The club’s route continues via Copse Road, Radcliffe Road and Stanley Road. Do not drive into the narrow roads immediately beside the turnstiles expecting a general stadium car park.

The club reports only limited on-site spaces, and residential access must be kept clear. If using the council’s free seafront car parks, navigate straight to The Esplanade rather than the stadium postcode. The A585 and roads through Fleetwood can be congested at busy times. Check current roadworks and your precise route for weekend, evening and bank-holiday games, especially when returning towards Blackpool and the motorway.

YOUR AWAY DAY · Highbury Stadium

Worth knowing

Salford City at Fleetwood Town

For an away supporter, Fleetwood is most interesting when Highbury is read as part of the town rather than simply as a small League Two ground. Maritime language, the old ground's layers and the speed of the club's ascent are all visible in a very compact setting.

Matchday features

Steep pillar-free terrace. Visiting wheelchair bays. Mixed-supporter Jim's Bar

Bags and entry

Check current stadium policy.

Terracing still matters

Current guides place away support in the covered Percy Ronson terrace, which gives the visit a more old-fashioned physical feel than many EFL grounds.

A ground named after its street

Highbury is a local street name, not borrowed football grandeur.

The club is younger and older than it looks

Supporter interpretation

The current organisation is from 1997, but the ground, colours and Fleetwood football story carry older layers. That tension is worth knowing before treating the club as simply a twenty-first-century arrival.

Fish references are not novelty branding

Supporter interpretation

Cod Army and Fishermen make sense in the context of a town where fishing once employed thousands and still shapes local memory.

The Highbury sign

It is not an Arsenal homage: the stadium name comes from Highbury Avenue.

The Percy Ronson name

A visitor can easily treat it as just a stand name; it is actually a surviving reference to an earlier Fleetwood football generation.

Old and new squeezed together

Highbury's interest is the contrast between a compact traditional site and facilities added during a climb that was far faster than most clubs ever experience.

The speedway layer

Nothing obvious now shouts 'speedway stadium', which is precisely why the 1948-52 Fleetwood Flyers chapter is a rewarding deep cut.

1939 continuity

Supporter interpretation

Highbury predates the current 1997 organisation and survived the repeated disappearance and return of senior Fleetwood football.

Speedway beneath the football history

Fleetwood Flyers used Highbury from 1948 to 1952. The cinder track changed the old stand-to-pitch spacing and remnants were encountered during later building work.

Memorial Park

The stadium adjoins a civic park created as a living memorial after the First World War, embedding matchday Fleetwood in an older local landscape.

Matchday arrangements can change. Check current club guidance and your ticket before travelling.

Supporter insights combine the site's existing official guidance, supporter-oriented research and fixture checks.

Trains

Rail, Underground & tram

Travel to Blackpool North if you want the simplest rail connection for Fleetwood. There is no National Rail station in Fleetwood itself, but Blackpool North has a tram interchange taking you north towards Highbury Stadium. Allow around 40 minutes for the onward tram journey, plus the walk to your gate.

Follow signs from Blackpool North railway station to the North Station tram stop beneath the Holiday Inn.

Coaches

Away coaches

If you are travelling on an official away coach, follow your organiser’s confirmed drop-off and collection instructions rather than setting a sat-nav destination yourself. Fleetwood has used Hatfield Avenue outside the Percy Ronson entrance for away-coach drop-offs on past fixtures.

A newer Fleetwood supporter guide identified Copse Road for coaches attending a particular away allocation, while older guides directed empty coaches towards Queens Terrace. These are not reliable all-fixture instructions. Confirm where the coach will wait and whether collection is on the same road before leaving it.

From a Hatfield Avenue drop-off, the Percy Ronson terrace entrance is close by. If the coach uses Copse Road instead, allow for the walk to Highbury and ask the driver where the group must return after full-time.

For an evening fixture, check the last tram and your connecting train before leaving home. Blackpool Transport also publishes late-night engineering changes, so the journey home can differ from the outward service.

Accessibility

Accessible journeys

Contact Fleetwood Town before travelling if you need a wheelchair place, accessible entry or parking. The club-supplied Level Playing Field record describes seven away wheelchair positions and only one designated away parking space; even that is subject to operational needs, so it must not be assumed available.

The 2025/26 club guide names Phil Bowker as Disabled Liaison Officer, with contact through the club on 01253 775080 or by email.

After the match

After the match

If you have parked at Marine Hall or Central Car Park, allow for the walk back to The Esplanade after full-time. You will avoid driving immediately beside the ground, but Fleetwood’s limited exit roads still feed traffic back towards the A585, so leave some flexibility in your journey.

For train travellers, return to the operating tram stop near Highbury and connect with Blackpool North. Check the last suitable tram and onward train before the game, especially in midweek when a late finish can turn a straightforward daytime journey into a missed connection.

Official coach passengers should rejoin the vehicle exactly where the organiser tells them. Earlier guides give different pickup and parking roads; the arrangement for your fixture is more important than following a historic postcode.

Car return
Walk back to The Esplanade for Marine Hall/Central council free parking
Car escape route
Main Fleetwood approach via A585 can be congested at busy periods
Tram return
Tram towards Blackpool North from a functioning Fleetwood stop; check train connection
London Street northbound
Temporary closure of northbound platform in 2026; operator lists other stops
Coach collection
Fixture-specific; historically Hatfield Avenue but 2025/26 guide also names Copse Road for one match

Where to stay

Stay in Fleetwood around the Esplanade or town-centre edge if you want to walk back after the match. Highbury is a short local journey from the seafront, and the Lord Street area gives you better access to pubs and food than the quiet residential streets beside the stadium.

If you want a bigger evening out or an easier mainline train connection, base yourself around Blackpool North and Talbot Gateway instead. The tram links Blackpool with Fleetwood, but an evening match means checking the last service and allowing enough time for the journey back.

There is little reason to choose an outlying hotel purely for the stadium unless the price or parking arrangement makes it worthwhile. Fleetwood’s smaller hotel market can fill around matches; prices vary by date and should be checked rather than assumed.

Best local base
Fleetwood Esplanade and town-centre edge for walking after match
Best rail and nightlife base
Blackpool North / Talbot Gateway for train connections and evening choices
Stadium setting
Residential Fleetwood near Memorial Park; limited immediate hotel options
Town centre
Fleetwood Lord Street and seafront have food/pubs and free council car parks
Blackpool connection
Blackpool North rail station serves tramway connection to Fleetwood

Matchday services and parking arrangements can change. Confirm current details before travelling.

AWAY-DAY OVERVIEW

Before you head to the ground

Fleetwood has no railway station, so rail groups should meet at Blackpool North before the final leg rather than try to rendezvous at a non-existent Fleetwood station.

Read full overview Hide full overview

Fleetwood has no railway station, so rail groups should meet at Blackpool North before the final leg rather than try to rendezvous at a non-existent Fleetwood station. The tram takes about 40 minutes and buses 1/14 about 30; Stanley Road is the ground-side stop, while London Street’s northbound tram platform is currently closed. At Highbury, Jim’s Bar is the simplest mixed-supporter option, though admission can be fixture-specific and chanting is barred.

PUB / BAR

Strawberry Gardens

Poulton Road, Fleetwood, FY7 6TF
8 min walkAway fans welcomeFood available
BEST FORbest away-pub choice · proper meal · real ale · families
MATCHDAY INTELThe clearest away-pub recommendation in Fleetwood: the venue currently calls itself the club’s official away pub and explicitly welcomes visiting supporters. It combines a dozen hand pumps with proper food and a short walk to Highbury.
WORTH KNOWINGNo current written colours policy was found. Children must remain seated and leave by 20:00; one 2025 away review criticised pint quality, so not every supporter report is glowing.
PUB / BAR

Jim's Bar

Highbury Stadium, Park Avenue, Fleetwood, FY7 6TX
0 min walkAway access: checkFood available
BEST FORsimplest ground-side drink · early arrivals · mixed supporter groups
MATCHDAY INTELThe easiest pre-match pint once you reach Highbury. Current Fleetwood guidance welcomes both home and away supporters, with food and live sport, but separate fixture material makes clear that away admission can still be restricted.
WORTH KNOWINGFootball chanting is explicitly prohibited inside Jim’s Bar. Check your own fixture brief because some current guidance describes away admission as match-dependent.
PUB / BAR

Three Lights

Herring Arm Road, Fleetwood, FY7 6NB
8 min walkAway access: checkFamily friendlyFood available
BEST FORfamilies · pub meal · ground-side alternative
MATCHDAY INTELA useful food-led alternative within walking distance of Highbury. Current visiting guides include it among away options, while the venue itself confirms family-friendly opening and a full pub-classics menu rather than just matchday snacks.
WORTH KNOWINGAway admission comes from visiting and ground guides rather than a published house football policy. No current rule on colours was found, so treat that as unknown.
PUB / BAR

The Queens

Poulton Road, Fleetwood, FY7 8PR
9 min walkAway access: check
BEST FORalternative pub · watching sport · later opening
MATCHDAY INTELA local alternative rather than the first away-pub call. The Queens is current, shows sport and appears repeatedly in visiting guides, but the venue itself does not publish a football-admission or colours policy.
WORTH KNOWINGCurrent sources disagree whether the address should be described as Poulton Road or Beach Road, although the postcode is consistent. Away access remains guide-reported rather than guaranteed.
PUB / BAR

Kings Arms

105 Lord Street, Fleetwood, FY7 6LB
Away access: check
BEST FORtown-centre drink · sport · later opening
MATCHDAY INTELA current Lord Street pub for supporters who want to spend time in Fleetwood centre before heading to Highbury. It appears in current football guides as an away option and stays open late, but access is not venue-guaranteed.
WORTH KNOWINGNo house rule on visiting supporters or colours was found. London Street’s northbound tram platform is currently closed, so do not build the onward journey around that stop.

What to eatTraditional fish and chips, haddock cooked to order, pies, burgers and larger sharing boxes; choose it for proximity rather than a leisurely sit-down meal.

The obvious pre-turnstile chippy: directly opposite Highbury, with fish cooked to order and a current traditional takeaway menu. It is hard to beat for convenience, although older supporter reports warn that service can slow sharply near kick-off.

WORTH KNOWINGCurrent delivery prices may differ at the counter. Historical supporter reports describe long waits when fish is being cooked to order, so allow time on a busy Saturday.

What to eatCurrent club guidance specifically confirms traditional pies and pasties, hot drinks and sweets; wider visiting-club guidance describes a broader hot/cold range without an itemised current menu.

The safest option if you want to go straight through: Fleetwood’s current guide confirms cashless away-end kiosks with pies, pasties, hot drinks and sweets. Parkside seated visitors can buy alcohol; Percy Ronson terrace visitors cannot.
