Novotel London Wembley
Wembley Park
The strongest all-round MatchdayHotels choice for Barnet if you want the overnight trip to feel like more than simply sleeping near The Hive. It is a proper four-star hotel a few minutes from Wembley Park Tube, so the ground remains straightforward on the Jubilee line while BOXPARK, pubs and restaurants are around you after the match.
- About a three-minute walk from Wembley Park Tube, giving direct Jubilee-line access towards Canons Park.
- Wembley Park has a much stronger concentration of post-match food and drink than Canons Park/Queensbury.
Approximately 2.8 miles straight-line from The Hive. The practical route is a short walk to Wembley Park, Jubilee line to Canons Park, then the very short walk to the stadium entrance.
Not walkable to The Hive in a sensible football-trip context; use the Jubilee line rather than trying to walk.
Compare live rates and room options for your dates.

Apple House Wembley
Queensbury / Edgware
The closest practical recommendation is not a big chain hotel but a small guesthouse in Queensbury. That matters because the location really works: Hotels.com puts The Hive about a 9-minute walk / 0.8 km away, while the property itself says Queensbury Tube is roughly five minutes on foot. More importantly, the verified review evidence is unusually strong for this price level.
- About a 9-minute walk / 0.8 km from The Hive according to Hotels.com.
- Verified Booking.com review breakdown is especially strong for cleanliness, comfort, staff and value.
Hotels.com lists The Hive Stadium as a 9-minute walk / 0.8 km. This is a genuinely practical walk and avoids relying on post-match transport.
It is a guesthouse rather than a conventional staffed hotel with bar, restaurant and reception facilities.
Compare live rates and room options for your dates.

Hilton London Wembley
Wembley Park
Pick the Hilton when the evening is part of the trip and you are prepared to pay a little more for it. It sits in the middle of Wembley Park beside the arena/stadium district, has its own Sky Bar and Icons Bar, and is surrounded by the strongest local concentration of restaurants, pubs and BOXPARK street food.
- Sky Bar and Icons Bar give you a genuine on-site post-match drinks option.
- BOXPARK, London Designer Outlet restaurants and the wider Wembley Park bar cluster are immediately around the hotel.
Approximately 3.1 miles straight-line from The Hive. Use Wembley Park Tube and the Jubilee line to Canons Park rather than walking.
More expensive than Apple House and usually above the quiet-date Novotel rate.

Parking
Driving & road restrictions
Set your sat-nav for The Hive Stadium, Camrose Avenue, HA8 6AG. From the M1, Barnet directs drivers from junction 4 along the A41, A410 and A5 before turning into Camrose Avenue. Approaches from the A1 or A40/A406 also feed towards Camrose Avenue, where the club warns of a width restriction close to the site.
Head for the designated stadium car park, not residential kerbs on the approach road. Harrow publishes controlled parking zones and traffic orders, so a road without an obvious parking meter is not necessarily available for unrestricted matchday parking. The council also lists proposed changes affecting Camrose Avenue, but I could not establish an active fixture-day closure from that proposal.
Leave extra time for the final stretch and follow signs or stewards if access arrangements change.
- Sat-nav destination
- Camrose Avenue, Edgware, London HA8 6AG

Parking & park-and-ride
Use The Hive's own car park rather than depending on a free residential space. Barnet quotes £8 matchday parking for up to 500 vehicles, available on arrival rather than by reservation. It is the most straightforward choice for the away end, but busy fixtures can fill it and the single exit may delay your departure.
The stadium is on Camrose Avenue, HA8 6AG. Arrive well before kick-off, ideally with at least an hour to spare, and pay only once you are inside. The operator applies its £8 matchday charge from 30 minutes before kick-off until two hours afterwards, and warns that additional charges can apply outside that period. Check the full tariff if arriving particularly early.
We could not confirm a named stretch of free, unrestricted road parking for the whole visit. Camrose Avenue, Whitchurch Lane and roads around Canons Park have parking controls or local restrictions that depend on the precise bay and signs. Do not treat older visiting-fan reports of available street spaces as legal permission.
If the stadium is full, Canons Park station car park is a paid alternative: £7.70 on Saturday or Sunday, and £9.50 on weekdays or bank holidays, subject to spaces. A legitimately bookable private driveway on Camrose Avenue is another option when available.
Allow four hours or more for arriving, walking, the match and getting away. Morrisons Queensbury allows only two hours and Morrisons Colindale three, with no confirmed permission to leave your car for football. For an evening or cup fixture, check that your parking remains valid until you return.
- Parking verdict
- Use paid Hive parking first; a named legally unrestricted free street option could not be verified
- Legal restrictions — local roads
- Harrow CPZ permits and hours vary by signed zone and bay; no exact named unrestricted street section verified

Trains
Rail, Underground & tram
Use Queensbury on the Jubilee line for the simplest confirmed approach to The Hive. Barnet's September 2025 closure notice directs supporters to this station while the Whitchurch Lane entrance is out of use. From Queensbury, follow Turner Road to Camrose Avenue and the stadium entrance; the club describes the walk as around ten minutes.
Canons Park is physically the closest Tube stop, but do not assume you can use its short Whitchurch Lane entrance. The club's general travel page still recommends that gate, despite its later closure notice. Edgware on the Northern line is another option, around a mile away, with buses towards Canons Park or Camrose Avenue.
Check your Jubilee line journey before travelling, especially for evening matches. Neither Canons Park nor Queensbury should be assumed to offer step-free station access without a fresh TfL accessibility check.
- Recommended Tube station
- Queensbury on the Jubilee line while the Whitchurch Lane entrance remains unconfirmed as reopened
- Nearest Tube station by geography
- Canons Park on the Jubilee line, but its short stadium entrance was closed in a 29 September 2025 notice
- Alternative station
- Edgware on the Northern line; about one mile from The Hive
- Queensbury walking approach
- Turner Road to Camrose Avenue; the club normally estimates about 10 minutes to the site entrance
Station to ground & away entrance
Head to the Camrose Avenue stadium entrance rather than the old pedestrian gate on Whitchurch Lane. Barnet announced that the Whitchurch Lane entrance would close for works and told supporters to approach from Queensbury via Turner Road. The club's general directions have not been updated consistently, so follow the closure notice unless stewards confirm a reopening.
Visiting supporters are ordinarily accommodated in Stand 66, the North Stand, with their own ticket and turnstile arrangements. From the Camrose Avenue entrance, follow the signs around the ground to the away ticket office and North Stand turnstiles rather than joining home queues. The precise gate on your ticket takes priority if the allocation changes.
Allow extra walking time if you arrive at Canons Park by habit, as reaching Camrose Avenue may require a longer route around the site.

- Stand 66 / North Stand for ordinary visiting allocations

Buses
Buses & local travel
Use the Jubilee line to Queensbury and walk along Turner Road while the Whitchurch Lane entrance remains closed. It is a straightforward option from central London via Wembley Park and avoids driving into the stadium site. Check the fixture's TfL service notices before relying on a particular connection.
If you arrive at Edgware on the Northern line, routes 79, 186 and 340 serve the Canons Park area. Barnet also lists route 288 towards Camrose Avenue and route 114 towards Turner Road. Because the short Canons Park site entrance was closed, choose a stop that leaves you with a manageable walk to Camrose Avenue rather than assuming the nearest stop gives direct stadium access.
Allow for matchday boarding crowds, particularly if travelling back via Queensbury after the final whistle.
- Jubilee line options
- Queensbury and Canons Park are Jubilee line stations
- Buses from Edgware
- 79, 186 and 340 towards Canons Park; 288 towards Queensbury/Camrose Avenue
- Route from west
- Bus 114 serves Turner Road according to club travel directions
- Site pedestrian access caution
- Use Camrose Avenue while the Whitchurch Lane gate reopening is unconfirmed
Accessibility
Accessible journeys
Contact Barnet before travelling if you need wheelchair seating, an accessible parking bay or help reaching the away end. Level Playing Field lists 16 visiting wheelchair positions and two away accessible toilets, while the club describes six wider Blue Badge bays in its main car park. Spaces are not presented as bookable, so ask the club about your fixture before setting off.
Barnet's accessibility contact can advise on seating and any assistance required. Because the Whitchurch Lane stadium gate has been subject to a prolonged closure, confirm the accessible route from Camrose Avenue. Do not assume either nearby Jubilee-line station offers step-free access without checking TfL's current station accessibility information.
The ground address is Camrose Avenue, HA8 6AG, and the club's main telephone number is 020 8381 3800.

After the match
After the match
For the simplest onward journey, walk to Queensbury and take the Jubilee line after the match. This keeps you away from the one-exit stadium car park, which visiting-club guides warn can be slow to clear. Allow time to get around the ground and back to Turner Road, especially if your return train connects with a mainline departure.
If you drove, expect Camrose Avenue to be busy as supporters leave and avoid planning a tight motorway or rail connection. Parking at Canons Park station, rather than inside The Hive, may reduce time spent queuing at the stadium exit, although the pedestrian route must account for the unresolved Whitchurch Lane closure.
For late kick-offs, check the last useful Jubilee or Northern line connection before the game. Cup extra time can make a tight return plan unreliable.
- Best Tube return
- Queensbury via Camrose Avenue and Turner Road while Whitchurch Lane entrance closure remains unresolved
- Hive exit constraint
- Visiting-supporter guides identify one stadium car-park exit and possible post-match delay
- Matchday route contingency
- Use Camrose Avenue if Whitchurch Lane site access remains closed
Where to stay
Stay around Wembley Park if you want restaurants and a proper evening out after the football. Its Jubilee-line station connects directly to Queensbury, and the area has a much broader choice of food and bars than the residential streets around The Hive. Check Wembley Stadium and arena event dates before booking, because demand can change prices and crowding significantly.
Queensbury or Edgware make more sense if you want a practical room close to the ground and less interest in nightlife. Queensbury gives you the straightforward Turner Road walk, while Edgware has Northern-line access and local buses but is farther from the stadium.
For a trip based around central London sightseeing or a long-distance train home, a hotel near a suitable Jubilee-line interchange may be easier than staying next to the stadium. There is no need to book accommodation simply because you're attending Barnet.
- Best overnight base for evening
- Wembley Park: Jubilee-line access and more restaurants and bars
- Stadium-focused stay
- Queensbury or Edgware, depending on desired Tube line and journey
- Event-day hotel price warning
- Wembley area events can increase accommodation demand; match-date rates not verified

The Hive is a ground where the on-site away provision matters more than the immediate pub scene. Recent visiting-club guides consistently point travelling supporters towards the dedicated away-end bar, while Moranos by Canons Park remains the main off-site matchday stop. It is current and away-supporter use is well evidenced, but it is small and can become crowded, so it is better treated as a convenient stop than a guaranteed base for a large following. For supporters arriving on the Jubilee line, Kingsbury gives a more predictable pub-and-food option before continuing to Canons Park, with J.J. Moon's repeatedly recommended by visiting clubs. Edgware has The Three Wishes, while Queensbury offers stronger sit-down food at The Regency Club; both need fixture-day access checks rather than assumptions about colours. Close to the ground, The Spice Box adds a current non-pub food option on Whitchurch Lane. Home supporters also have The Hive Bar and Café, but recent guidance identifies it as home-only.

The Regency Club
The Regency Club is a strong food-first lead near Queensbury: its official site confirms current opening, walk-ins, a large bar and group bookings, while its FAQ says it shows major sport on Sky across HD TVs. It is not currently verified as an away-football pub, and its club-style entry arrangements need checking before it is promoted as a straightforward matchday drinking base.
The Spice Box
The Spice Box is a current, independently verified food option on Whitchurch Lane. Its official 2026 site shows a halal Indian restaurant and takeaway, table booking, collection and current Tuesday-Sunday daytime opening. Grimsby's recent Barnet guide independently notes that Whitchurch Lane has several food outlets, which gives the venue clear practical relevance even though no football-specific away-fan policy was found.
