Start with our all-round pick, choose a ground-first base, or stay where the pubs and evening are.
Match night · 2 guests · 1 room

Malmaison Liverpool
Princes Dock / northern waterfront
Our overall pick because it makes the fewest compromises for a normal Everton overnight trip. It is on the right side of the city centre for Hill Dickinson Stadium, with a published matchday walk of about 1.7 miles/35 minutes, but you are still close enough to the Cavern Quarter, Castle Street and the main centre to have a proper evening without staying in the quieter stadium area.
- A realistic walk to Hill Dickinson Stadium for supporters who are comfortable with roughly 35 minutes on foot.
- Northern waterfront position shortens the stadium leg compared with Ropewalks and Lime Street hotels.
Liverpool Noise's Everton matchday guide gives 1.7 miles / about 35 minutes on foot. A Booking.com review surfaced in research described the walk as about 20-25 minutes, so actual time varies by route and walking pace; 30-35 minutes is the safer matchday allowance.
It is not genuinely 'next to the ground'; Titanic Hotel is much closer.
Compare live rates and room options for your dates.

Titanic Hotel Liverpool
Stanley Dock
The clear stadium-first choice. It sits at Stanley Dock and current hotel-location sources put Hill Dickinson Stadium at roughly 0.7 miles / 12 minutes on foot. It is also a genuinely good four-star hotel rather than a proximity-only pick, but you pay for the rooms and the setting and you are outside Liverpool's main evening districts.
- Closest practical high-quality hotel found for Hill Dickinson Stadium.
- Hotels.com and Expedia both give about a 12-minute / 0.7-mile walk to the ground.
Hotels.com and Expedia both currently list Hill Dickinson Stadium at about 12 minutes on foot (approximately 1.0 km / 0.7 miles). On a full matchday it is sensible to allow extra time for crowd flow and road closures.
Stanley Dock is not the best base if the post-match evening in Ropewalks or the Cavern Quarter is a priority.
Compare live rates and room options for your dates.

The Resident Liverpool
Ropewalks / Seel Street
The best choice if the overnight stay is as much about Liverpool after the final whistle as the match itself. It is on Seel Street in Ropewalks, right beside one of the city's strongest clusters of bars, pubs and restaurants, yet current reviews consistently say the rooms are unusually quiet for the location. It is not the hotel to choose for the shortest stadium walk.
- Directly in Ropewalks, with Seel Street and Concert Square nightlife on the doorstep.
- About a 10-minute walk from Liverpool Lime Street according to the hotel.
Tripadvisor currently lists the hotel 1.8 miles from Hill Dickinson Stadium as a straight-line distance, so the practical walking route is longer. For most supporters the better matchday plan is the 929 shuttle from Liverpool ONE, the 919 from Commutation Row near Lime Street, Merseyrail towards Sandhills, or a longer city-centre walk.
Not a stadium-side hotel; the stadium journey should be planned separately.

Parking
Driving & road restrictions
Use Hill Dickinson Stadium, Bramley-Moore Dock, L3 0BW only as the final destination for your journey. For a match, it is better to set the sat-nav for your authorised car park, not the stadium gates. Road closures operate around Regent Road and the dockside approaches to make room for supporters.
Bootle Strand multi-storey is an alternative from the north, with its entrance on Vermont Way, L20 4XZ. Park there and catch the 939 shuttle or a train from Bootle New Strand to Sandhills. If you book a private car park closer to Liverpool city centre, follow the operator’s access instructions rather than diverting into residential or industrial permit streets.
- Stadium address
- Hill Dickinson Stadium, Bramley-Moore Dock, Liverpool L3 0BW
- Matchday road closures
- Crowd-management road closures apply on roads around stadium, with pedestrian priority
- Bootle park-and-ride sat-nav
- Strand Shopping Centre multi-storey, Vermont Way, Bootle L20 4XZ
- Regent Road coach restriction
- Coach access steered from Derby Road/Boundary Street; not a general car parking route
- Matchday parking zone map
- Liverpool City Council August 2025 map identifies restricted permit, industrial and short-stay areas up to city centre fringe
- After-dark approach
- Dockside approaches can be crowded, with changed shuttle and train pickup points; check fixture signage
Parking & park-and-ride
Do not rely on free on-street parking near Hill Dickinson Stadium. Liverpool City Council controls the surrounding dockside and residential roads on event days, and there is no general stadium car park for visiting supporters. Book authorised parking or use a free Merseyrail station car park instead.
Bootle Strand multi-storey on Vermont Way, L20 4XZ, is the simplest driving choice. It has over 500 spaces and charges £3 for two to four hours, £4 for four to five, or £7.50 beyond five hours. From Bootle Bus Station stand 4, the 939 shuttle costs a published £2 each way.
Ten Streets, Love Lane and Blackstone Street are not unrestricted parking alternatives. Visitors without permits face a two-hour limit on event days in their relevant parking areas. Neighbouring roads have separate resident and industrial controls, and no named public street has been verified as suitable for a whole match.
A pre-booked private car park near Love Lane or Pall Mall is another option if you prefer to walk. One Love Lane operator lists £20 football matchday parking, despite advertising cheaper ordinary-day rates elsewhere. Book the football-specific product and confirm your entrance and exit instructions.
For genuinely free parking, Merseyrail provides marked spaces at Liverpool South Parkway, Kirkby and other stations. Spaces are first come, first served, and overnight parking is prohibited. Continue to Sandhills, allow time to walk to Gate E and plan for at least four to five hours away from your car.
Check your car park’s closing time for the actual fixture, especially for evening kick-offs or cup extra time. Bootle Strand publishes different football-day hours. Do not leave your car in supermarket or industrial parking without express permission covering the full matchday visit.
- Parking verdict
- Booking advisable; no verified unrestricted public street within practical full-match walk; no general supporter stadium parking
- Free option — rail park and ride
- Free marked station bays at Liverpool South Parkway (311 spaces), Kirkby (174), Maghull (275), Aintree (104) and others; spaces not guaranteed
- Legal restrictions — Ten Streets area
- Permitted Parking Area operates 10am–midnight all year; without permit maximum two hours on event days, no return within one hour
- Legal restrictions — Love Lane area
- Permitted Parking Area operates 10am–midnight all year; without permit maximum two hours on event days, no return within one hour
- Legal restrictions — Blackstone Street area
- Event-day scheme 10am–midnight; without permit maximum two hours and no return within one hour
- Legal restrictions — surrounding zones
- Council August 2025 map identifies Esk Street, Juniper Street, Walter Street, Barmouth Way, Pansy Street and residential/industrial permit zones. Exact street-side bay signs remain authoritative.
- Matchday availability — free on-street
- No named legal section with unrestricted full-match stay verified; large event crowds make availability unreliable
- Matchday availability — Bootle Strand
- Operator lists over 500 bays, including accessible spaces on level five; first-come availability, not individually guaranteed
- Walk — stadium from Sandhills
- About 15–25 minutes to stadium depending on route, pace and crowd; allow additional time to Gate E in north-east corner
- Walk — Love Lane private car park
- Operator claims around 8–12 minutes to stadium; confirm actual booked entry and onward distance to Gate E
- Arrive by — matchday
- Allow at least 60–90 minutes at stadium before kick-off; park early enough for shuttle or train, pedestrian gates and entry security; planning allowance, not guaranteed space
- Paid fallback — Bootle Strand
- Vermont Way L20 4XZ, pay-and-display multistorey; onward 939 shuttle or six-minute Merseyrail ride from Bootle New Strand to Sandhills
- Paid fallback — Love Lane booked car park
- Private off-street Love Lane Main Car Park via Chadwick Street; operator advertises £20 football matchday product, 24-hour access with evening gate controls; prebook actual event
- Booking recommendation
- Book a car park that explicitly accepts football-day parking, not general public-street spaces or weekday-only private offers; verify start/end time
- Bootle Strand published tariff
- 0–2 hours £1.80; 2–4 £3; 4–5 £4; over five hours £7.50, according to centre operator checked 14 October 2026
- Bootle 939 fare
- Sefton Council states £2 each way, normal valid saver types accepted; not bundled with parking tariff
- Bootle Strand opening — specific fixtures
- Operator lists 17 October 2026 12.30 kick-off closing 6.30pm; 29 October 2026 7.45pm kick-off closing 11.30pm. Future fixtures must be rechecked.
- Bootle general closing notice
- Sefton generic page mentions 11pm, but operator publishes fixture-specific hours that take precedence for each visit
- Retail/industrial warning
- No verified retail-site permission for football spectators; shopping or business parking cannot be recommended as a substitute for authorised football parking
- Total dwell time
- Allow at least four to five hours for early arrival, 90-minute match, half-time and stoppages, access walks and exit; cup extra time and late departures can extend this
- After the match
- Expect queuing for Sandhills and traffic near Regent Road; private car park customer feedback on exits is mixed and anecdotal
- Ordinary private-carpark rate warning
- Love Lane listing advertises £3.50 standard daily rate in some text, but explicitly lists £20 on Everton matchdays and says weekday bookings do not cover matchdays
- Overnight park-and-ride limitation
- Merseyrail free station parking excludes overnight stays
- No guaranteed space — operator
- Bootle Strand advertises a multi-storey product rather than a named allocated reserved bay; free Merseyrail spaces are first come; private booked bay depends on provider confirmation

Matchday advice: Do not rely on free on-street parking near Hill Dickinson Stadium. Liverpool City Council controls the surrounding dockside and residential roads on event days, and there is no general stadium car park for visiting supporters.
Trains
Rail, Underground & tram
Use Sandhills Merseyrail station for Hill Dickinson Stadium. It is the closest practical rail stop, with a roughly 15–25-minute walk to the dockside ground depending on your pace and route. From Liverpool Lime Street, head to the Merseyrail Northern Line at Liverpool Central or Moorfields, then take a train towards Sandhills.
Bank Hall is a quieter alternative to consider when your train serves it, while Moorfields gives you the option of walking from the city centre. Check the route before travelling because not every service stops at every station. After the match, expect managed queues at Sandhills and leave a generous connection for any mainline train from Lime Street.
- Recommended station
- Sandhills on Merseyrail Northern Line; closest useful station for Hill Dickinson Stadium
- Sandhills walk
- About 15 minutes according to Merseyrail main guide and Sefton; Merseyrail alternative page estimates about 25 minutes, so allow 15–25 minutes plus crowd delays
- Mainline interchange
- Arrive at Liverpool Lime Street, transfer to Northern Line via Liverpool Central or Moorfields depending on route
- Alternative station — Bank Hall
- Bank Hall on Merseyrail Northern Line, farther north than Sandhills; walking alternative when convenient for your service
- Alternative station — Moorfields
- Moorfields in Liverpool city centre; longer walk via waterfront and dockside approaches
- Post-match station management
- Merseytravel identifies Sandhills as the advised return station with managed crowd flows at station and city-centre stops
- Sandhills step-free
- Merseyrail says Sandhills has step-free access via lift; the whole walk to a specific away gate is not independently certified step-free
- Saturday service planning
- Merseytravel September 2026 guide describes intensified 15-minute Northern Line service around games; verify fixture timetable
Station to ground & away entrance
Go through Gate E for the visiting end, then follow the signs to turnstile block 24 in the north-east corner of Hill Dickinson Stadium. The away section is in the North Stand, and the visiting ticket office is beside those turnstiles. Do not head for the old Goodison Park ground.
From Sandhills, follow the matchday pedestrian signs down towards Regent Road and the dock wall, then use the marked stadium access gates. The Budweiser Plaza normally opens three hours before kick-off and away turnstiles two hours before. Leave time for ticket checks, searches and the walk around the stadium perimeter.
- Away entrance
- Gate E on the stadium perimeter, nearest organised away coaches
- Away turnstiles
- Block 24, North Stand, north-east corner
- Away ticket office
- Beside block 24; visiting club must arrange replacement tickets
- Away stand
- Dedicated away concourse on Level 1, North Stand north-east corner
- Fan plaza opening
- Budweiser Plaza normally opens three hours before kick-off
- Turnstile opening

- Approach from Sandhills
- Follow matchday pedestrian routing towards dockside/Regent Road; road closures help separate walking crowds and traffic
- Stadium postcode
- L3 0BW, for location only; car navigation may encounter road closures
- Ticket restrictions
- Visiting club guidance says digital ticket or authorised duplicate required; gate rules can vary by fixture

Coaches
Away coaches
If you are travelling on an official away coach, follow your operator’s parking instructions for Regent Road rather than arranging a separate drop-off. Recent visiting-club advice puts coaches on Regent Road north of Boundary Street. Drivers approaching from the north are advised to use Derby Road and turn through Boundary Street towards the stewards.
Allow around ten minutes to reach the visiting turnstiles at block 24, entering through Gate E. Everton has previously provided free parking for official away coaches, but your operator must confirm that applies to your fixture. Arrange the precise return meeting point before leaving your coach because temporary road closures and crowds affect collection.
- Usual away coach parking
- Regent Road, north of Boundary Street; stewards manage final parking location
- Coach driving route
- Approach from north along Derby Road, then Boundary Street towards Regent Road
- Away gate from coach park
- Gate E and block 24, roughly ten minutes on foot
- Away coach charge
- Burnley visiting guide March 2026 says no charge for official away coaches; verify for specific match
- Accessible coach placement
- Visiting supporters with access needs may have nearer parking on Regent Road by prior notice to Everton Stadium Operations
- Accessible coach advance contact
- stadiumops@evertonfc.com according to Burnley visiting guidance
- Post-match coach movement
- Perimeter pedestrian closures and stewarded exits may delay coaches; operator must follow police and steward directions
Buses
Buses & local travel
Use the 919 shuttle from Commutation Row near Lime Street if you are arriving by mainline train and want to avoid changing onto Merseyrail. The 929 runs from Liverpool ONE Bus Station. Both use Great Howard Street stops near the ground, with return stops that differ from the arrival side of the road.
The 939 connects Bootle Strand Bus Station with the stadium area, making it a good choice if you park at Bootle. For a shorter walk with accessible requirements, Everton operates a separate pre-booked shuttle from Sandhills towards Boundary Street. All services are matchday-dependent: check the return boarding point and the latest timetable before kick-off.
- City shuttle 919
- Commutation Row, near Lime Street; Great Howard Street stadium stop; published 10-minute matchday frequency
- City shuttle 929
- Liverpool ONE Bus Station stand 4/5; Great Howard Street stadium stop; published 10-minute matchday frequency

- Regular bus alternatives
- Services 53, 20, 47, 52/52A, 55 and 310 serve areas farther from dockside; some services diverted on matchdays
- Matchday diversion
- Merseytravel advises 54/54A, 56 and 58/58A diverted from Vauxhall/Commercial Road to Stanley Road on matchdays
- Access shuttle
- Pre-book free accessible shuttle from Sandhills towards Boundary Street, about 175m from stadium
Accessibility
Accessible journeys
Arrange accessible parking through the visiting club before travelling. Everton’s on-site accessible bays are limited and allocated in advance, so displaying a Blue Badge does not give you an automatic stadium space. The club’s disability liaison team can confirm what is available for the particular fixture and the safest away arrival point.
Sandhills station has step-free access, and Everton runs a free accessible matchday shuttle from there to Boundary Street, roughly 175 metres from the ground. This must be booked rather than boarded on arrival. The visiting section has accessible wheelchair positions in the north-east stand, with a lift by the away turnstiles on request.
- Accessible parking contact
- Ask away club Disability Access Officer; Everton disability liaison accessibility@evertonfc.com or 0151 556 1878
- Away accessible parking allocation
- Level Playing Field lists six designated on-site away spaces; subject to fixture allocation, not available on arrival without approval
- Home parking distinction
- Level Playing Field describes seasonal allocation for home holders; do not confuse with away booking
- Blue Badge alone
- A badge does not guarantee access through matchday closures or a stadium bay; check the latest local signs and club arrangements
- Accessible shuttle boarding
- Sandhills Lane station side to Boundary Street, around 175 metres from stadium
- Accessible shuttle reservation
- Free shuttle requires advance booking through Everton accessibility team, 0151 556 1878 option 1 then 2 then 3
- Sandhills step-free access
- Merseyrail lists step-free station access via lift
- Away wheelchair provision
- Level Playing Field lists 30 away wheelchair positions with adjacent companion seating in north-east stand
- Away lift
- Visiting-club guide notes a lift near turnstile block 24 available on request
- Accessible toilets and services
- Accessible toilets and sensory/audio facilities available; matchday requests should be arranged with club
After the match
After the match
If you are returning to Liverpool Lime Street by rail, head back towards Sandhills and allow extra time for the managed station queue. Merseytravel recommends Sandhills after the game, but crowds can slow the walk and boarding. Do not book a tight mainline connection on the assumption you will catch the first train.
If you parked at Bootle Strand, use the signed 939 return stop on Derby Road north of Boundary Street. Confirm the car park’s closing time before leaving the vehicle, especially at evening fixtures. Walking into the city centre is another option if you would rather avoid station queues, although it takes longer and the dockside route can be busy.
- Recommended rail return
- Merseytravel advises Sandhills after final whistle with crowd management in place
- Bootle 939 return stop
- Derby Road north of Boundary Street; bus returns to Bootle Bus Station stand 4
- 919 city return
- Great Howard Street at Bentinck Street for Commutation Row
- 929 city return
- Great Howard Street north of Denbigh Street for Liverpool ONE
- Crowd risk
- Merseyrail operates station crowd flow controls at Sandhills; expect queue after high-attendance matches
- Walking into city centre
- Merseytravel recommends walking for those able; approximately 30 minutes from stadium to city centre according to visiting club
- Early exit experience
- Supporter reports in 2026 describe variable 30-minute city walks and crowd bottlenecks; anecdotal and route-dependent
- Bootle car park closure
- Check operator published closing time for each match, not a generic late-opening assumption
- Cup match extra time
- Return times and car park closing may become tight if match extends beyond 90 minutes; recheck actual operator provision
Where to stay
Stay in Liverpool city centre if you want the easiest mix of trains, pubs and food before or after an Everton away match. Around Moorfields, Dale Street or the waterfront, you can choose between walking towards Hill Dickinson Stadium, taking a Merseyrail train or using a matchday shuttle. It also makes a late arrival into Lime Street simpler.
The Stanley Dock area is nearer the stadium, with Titanic Hotel as a distinctive option, but there is less choice of independent evening venues within a short walk. Princes Dock and the northern waterfront are a middle ground between the centre and the stadium. For an early return train, favour a hotel close to Lime Street rather than one requiring another post-match connection.
- Best all-round overnight area
- Central Liverpool, particularly Moorfields/Dale Street or northern waterfront, for rail connections and wider eating and drinking choice
- Closest distinctive hotel area
- Stanley Dock near Bramley-Moore Dock; Titanic Hotel is a known Stanley Dock hotel, but price and vacancy not researched live
- Waterfront middle ground
- Princes Dock / waterfront accommodation closer to stadium direction, with city centre dining and transport access
- City-centre matchday access
- 919 at Commutation Row, 929 from Liverpool ONE, Northern Line via Moorfields to Sandhills, or walk
- Mainline connection consideration
- Liverpool Lime Street central rail arrival, onward shuttle or Merseyrail transfer required to stadium

Everton’s men now play at Hill Dickinson Stadium on Bramley-Moore Dock, so old Goodison pub habits are no longer a sensible away-day plan. Main-line arrivals should meet in central Liverpool around Lime Street, Dale Street or Tithebarn Street, then use Merseyrail to Sandhills, a matchday shuttle or the waterfront walk. Away fans sit in the lower north-east corner, using Block 24 after entering the stadium footprint through Gate E and Budweiser Plaza. City-centre pubs remain the safest drinking assumption: the North Western works especially well for early trains, with Ship & Mitre, Thomas Rigby’s and the Railway supported by current away guidance. The Terrace is much closer but admission is fixture-dependent. Food is stronger than the dockside setting suggests: the dedicated away concourse has pies and chicken, while Dale Street Kitchen, Castro’s and Baltic Market cover breakfast, sandwiches and groups. Stay around Lime Street/Dale Street for transport, or Stanley Dock for a short walk. Chelsea on 17 October kicks off at 12:30, making noon-opening pubs poor pre-match choices.

Food & quick bites
Where to grab a bite, have a proper meal or try the local matchday favourite.
Hill Dickinson Stadium visiting supporters' concourse
The visiting section has its own self-contained concourse with large food-and-drink kiosks.
Budweiser Plaza at Hill Dickinson Stadium
The stadium plaza is the dependable last pre-match stop before the turnstiles.
Baltic Market
Baltic Market is a strong food-first option in the wider area that current visiting-supporter guidance already identifies as useful for away fans. The market itself has a broad trader mix and explicitly welcomes families and children, making it a practical alternative to an alcohol-led pub stop.
Bramley Social
Bramley Social is an independent Everton-focused fan hub opposite the dock, built around pre- and post-match entertainment. Its current site advertises six bars, live music and giant screens for Everton fixtures; the Marquee section adds rotating street-food vendors and a stated 1,500-person capacity.
Hill Dickinson Stadium Visiting Supporters' Concourse
A better fallback than many Premier League away concourses. There are two substantial kiosks and a documented choice between pies and sausage rolls or chicken-and-chips dishes.
Dale Street Kitchen
The strongest food-first option for an early kick-off. It opens at 08:00 every day and sits in the same city-centre zone used by away drinkers before the onward journey.
Moose Coffee - Dale Street
A second strong early-arrival breakfast choice on Dale Street. It opens at 08:00 and suits supporters who want a substantial sit-down brunch before pubs and stadium queues build.
Castro's Cafeteria
A better quick bite than a generic chain: substantial Canarian sandwiches from 09:00, with current Everton supporters repeatedly singling Castro's out when discussing the Dale Street pub area.
Baltic Market
The best mixed-group food stop if you are not rushing straight to the docks.
Titanic Hotel - Rum Bar & Stanley's Bar and Grill
The practical near-ground overnight choice rather than a football pub. You can eat or drink in Stanley Dock and walk to the away end without returning to the city centre.
Ma Boyle's
A useful waterfront food stop for supporters walking north rather than drinking around Lime Street. Weekend opening at 10:00 makes it workable before earlier kick-offs.
