Blackpool FC Stadium Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals
Bloomfield Road / South-central Blackpool
The strongest football-trip choice because it is part of Bloomfield Road itself rather than simply being nearby. Current guest evidence is solid rather than flawless, but the combination of zero-fuss match access, verified Booking.com coverage, pitch-facing football atmosphere and a lower sampled Friday rate than the Holiday Inn makes it the best overall fit for a supporter whose main reason for staying is the match.
- Located within Bloomfield Road, so there is effectively no post-match transfer back to the hotel.
- The Corner Flag bar and restaurant overlooks the pitch, making the hotel feel part of the football trip rather than a generic resort stay.
The hotel is within Bloomfield Road stadium; this is effectively an on-site stay.
Current review quality is good but less consistent than Holiday Inn Blackpool: a minority of recent reviews report tired décor or maintenance, including a 22 September 2026 Tripadvisor suite review.

Holiday Inn Blackpool by IHG
Talbot Road / Blackpool North / town centre
The strongest choice when the overnight stay is about the evening and the journey as well as the football. It is immediately beside Blackpool North, has direct access to the North Station tram stop, puts the town centre and Winter Gardens area on foot, and has markedly stronger current guest scores than most traditional Blackpool stock.
- IHG states the hotel is less than two minutes from Blackpool North station, making it particularly strong for rail arrivals.
- Direct access to the North Station tram stop gives a practical public-transport link towards the Blackpool Football Club stop.
Approximate practical walking distance/time from the Blackpool North/Talbot Road area. Blackpool Transport maps both North Station and Blackpool Football Club stops on the tramway, making tram travel the more attractive matchday option for many guests.
It is not next to Bloomfield Road; allow roughly 25 minutes on foot, or use the tram for the match journey.

Parking
Driving & road restrictions
For Bloomfield Road use FY1 6JJ, but put FY1 6HX into your sat-nav if you're aiming for the adjacent council car park. The established away-supporter approach is M6 junction 32, M55, then Yeadon Way onto Seasiders Way. Follow signs for the selected car park rather than driving into the residential roads beside the ground.
Allow extra time during resort weekends and major matches, when visitor traffic shares these approaches with football traffic. A 2026 temporary order covered resurfacing on part of Bloomfield Road, while ongoing evening bus diversions have also been reported. Check active road closures before your particular fixture; the earlier temporary order does not prove that road is still shut.
- Ground sat-nav
- Bloomfield Road, Seasiders Way, Blackpool FY1 6JJ
- Council car park sat-nav
- Bloomfield Road car park, FY1 6HX
- Road approach
- From M6 junction 32 join M55; continue to Yeadon Way and then Seasiders Way
- Temporary roadworks order — Bloomfield Road
- 2026 notice envisaged an 8-day closure from 19 August between Ansdell Road and Central Drive; order had longer legal duration, not evidence of a continuous closure
- Evening bus diversions
- Resurfacing diversions are reported from 8 September 2026, 19:00–05:00; check latest road/transport notices
Parking & park-and-ride
Plan to use paid parking rather than depend on a free street near Bloomfield Road. You generally do not need to pre-book a council pay-and-display space, but arriving early matters. We could not confirm a named, unrestricted residential stretch with dependable matchday availability.
Bloomfield Road council car park on Seasiders Way, FY1 6HX, is the easiest first choice, a few minutes from the stadium and close to the East Stand approach. It has 617 advertised car spaces, opens around the clock and costs £7.20 for up to six hours. PayByPhone code 803811 is useful when the payment machine is busy.
Lonsdale Road car park, FY1 6JX, charges the same and is another short walk away. The larger South car park on Yeadon Way, FY1 6BF, is a practical fallback if the closest sites are full. Both are open 24 hours. No council tariff or football permit reserves an individual bay.
Do not treat nearby residential streets as unrestricted simply because there are no obvious payment machines. The council lists a residents' permit scheme covering addresses on Bloomfield Road, Lytham Road and surrounding streets, but exact bay restrictions vary. Lidl has parking at its Bloomfield Road store, but football-use permission has not been confirmed.
Aim to arrive 75–90 minutes before kick-off and allow four to five hours overall, including the return walk and queues. Buy six hours rather than risk a three-hour expiry. If you want a space held for you, book a legitimate private space in advance and check its access instructions; otherwise head straight to the signed South car park rather than circling side streets.
- Parking verdict
- Use a council pay-and-display car park; no named legally unrestricted, matchday-reliable street option was established. Advance booking is optional for private spaces, not normally necessary for council pay-on-arrival parking.
- Legal restrictions — LYTH area
- Council resident-permit eligibility list includes Bloomfield Road numbers 1–67 and 2–92, plus sections of Lytham Road, Saville Road, Haig Road, St Heliers Road and nearby streets; eligibility alone does not prove every on-street bay is permit-only
- Legal restrictions — paid on-street bays
- Blackpool Council says bay restrictions vary by position and time; Bond Street, Watson Road and promenade have paid parking bays. Consult the sign beside the actual space.
- Legal restrictions — Dunelt Road
- September 2026 published proposed changes included no-waiting restrictions on the east side; commencement/enactment and precise extent not confirmed
- Walk — Bloomfield Road car park
- Around 3 minutes to the stadium in independent map estimate; allow longer to your specific East Stand turnstile
- Arrive by — council car parks
- Recommended 75–90 minutes before kick-off; editorial planning guidance, not a guaranteed vacancy
- Paid fallback — Bloomfield Road car park
- FY1 6HX; 617 car spaces; open 24 hours; £4.10 up to 3 hours, £7.20 up to 6, £11.40 up to 12; PayByPhone 803811; height limit 1.9m
- Paid fallback — Lonsdale Road car park
- FY1 6JX; 172 car spaces; open 24 hours; £7.20 up to 6 hours; PayByPhone 803826; 1.9m height limit
- Paid fallback — South car park
- Yeadon Way FY1 6BF; advertised 919 car spaces (some used by mobile clinics); open 24 hours; £7.20 up to 6 hours; PayByPhone 803834; 1.9m height barrier
- Paid fallback — Seasiders Way car park
- FY1 6JJ; 24-hour paid surface parking, £7.20 up to 6 hours, PayByPhone 803830; no height restriction at its entrance, but site may switch between cars and coaches at busy events
- Paid fallback — Central multi-storey
- Seasiders Way/Chapel Street FY1 5QE; 1,306 car spaces; £9.30 up to 6 hours; opens 07:00–midnight, not all-night entry/exit
- Booking recommendation
- No council pay-and-display space is reserved by buying a time tariff or Blackpool FC parking permit. For a pre-confirmed space choose a legitimate private listing and check booking terms and access instructions.
- Bookable private parking
- YourParkingSpace advertises bookable six-hour spaces near Bloomfield Road and states confirmed reservations are guaranteed under its booking guarantee; exact listings and costs depend on date
- Football season parking permit
- Council lists a £65 Blackpool FC permit for designated Bloomfield Road, Lonsdale Road and South car parks; valid two hours before advertised kick-off until two hours after match ends; no space guarantee
- Retail parking exists — Lidl Bloomfield Road
- Lidl operates a store with advertised parking at Bloomfield Road FY1 6JW; no published visitor-to-football authorisation inspected
- Supermarket permission/time limit — Morrisons Squires Gate Lane
- Retailer states a two-hour maximum at FY4 2AY; too short for matchday visit and not a verified football parking scheme
- Total dwell time
- Allow approximately 4–5 hours: illustrative 75 minutes pre-match, 105 minutes including half-time and stoppage, 30 minutes exiting, 20 minutes total walking and 20 minutes parking/traffic = 250 minutes (4h10); six-hour ticket allows margin, especially for extra time.
- After the match
- Allow for exit congestion in stadium-adjacent surface car parks; no official comparison of exit times or guaranteed faster council site was established
- Sunday/evening/bank holiday difference
- Council car park charges apply at all times, including Sundays and evenings; street signs and fixture-specific road controls may differ

Trains
Rail, Underground & tram
Blackpool South is the nearest railway station to Bloomfield Road, so use it if the hourly Preston service fits your journey. Allow roughly 15–20 minutes to reach the away entrance rather than relying on the straight-line distance shown on maps.
Blackpool North is the better-connected choice for most longer journeys, with a wider choice of trains. From there, allow around 25–35 minutes to walk towards Seasiders Way, or use a town-centre bus or tram and finish on foot. Check the return timetable before an evening fixture, especially if you need to change at Preston.
- Nearest rail station
- Blackpool South — Preston branch; commonly hourly, with Sunday reductions and disruptions possible
- Best-connected station
- Blackpool North — more frequent and wider regional/intercity links
- Walk — Blackpool South
- Allow about 15–20 minutes to the away entrance; published station-to-ground estimates vary
- Walk — Blackpool North
- Visiting-club guide quotes about 25 minutes to the ground; allow more if slow or finding away turnstiles
- Sunday train service
- Northern currently describes some Sunday Blackpool South–Preston periods as two-hourly; check your exact date
- Blackpool South step-free access
- Category A; 40-metre access ramp from Waterloo Road or short ramp from car park
- Blackpool North step-free access
- Category A; level access from concourse to platforms, with ramp approaches to building
Station to ground & away entrance
Use the East Stand entrances shown on your away ticket. Turnstiles 18–21 are at the south-east corner near the stadium hotel on Bloomfield Road, while 22–25 are at the north-east corner. The allocation can vary, so do not assume you can enter at either set.
From Blackpool South, leave towards Waterloo Road, head towards Lytham Road and continue north to Bloomfield Road. From Blackpool North or the town centre, follow the football-ground signs towards Seasiders Way. Allow extra time to reach your particular turnstile, as the stadium's postcode takes you to the ground rather than the correct entrance.
- Visiting stand
- East Stand; fixture allocations may also include adjoining south-east area
- Away turnstiles — south-east
- 18–21 near Blackpool FC Stadium Hotel on Bloomfield Road
- Away turnstiles — north-east
- 22–25 at the north-east East Stand corner
- Turnstile choice
- Use the turnstile printed on your own match ticket
- Turnstile opening
- Plymouth visiting-fan guidance stated 90 minutes before its February 2026 fixture; reconfirm for your fixture
- Away collections
- Past visiting-club guidance placed an away ticket booth near the south-east corner; current fixture arrangements may differ

Buses
Buses & local travel
For a matchday trip from central Blackpool, the new Seasider Specials offer a useful alternative to walking. Blackpool Transport runs them between Market Street and Rigby Road from two hours before league kick-off until an hour after full-time, with buses expected every 15 minutes. Normal fares apply and selected cup fixtures may differ.
You can also use regular buses serving the stadium area, but check the stop and route on the day. The promenade tramway is useful from Blackpool North and the seafront: alight at Manchester Square or St Chad’s Road and walk inland towards Bloomfield Road. There is no tram stop at the away turnstiles.
Overnight resurfacing has caused diversions to several bus services since September 2026. Check the operator's live notices before an evening game or if you need an onward connection.
- Matchday bus — Seasider Specials
- Market Street to Rigby Road; announced for league matches from 12 September 2026

- Illuminations warning
- Seasonal event-day diversions may apply; check operator notices for the relevant date
Accessibility
Accessible journeys
Contact Blackpool FC's disability liaison officer before the match if you need accessible away seating, an allocated stadium space or a suitable drop-off. Stadium parking is limited and requires advance discussion; do not rely on finding an accessible bay beside your entrance on arrival.
Bloomfield Road and Lonsdale Road council car parks advertise Blue Badge bays with a three-hour free concession when the badge and arrival clock are displayed. A typical football visit can exceed three hours, so check payment rules for the longer stay. Blackpool South and Blackpool North stations both have step-free platform access, but confirm train boarding assistance and the onward pavements separately.
- Disabled supporter contact
- Graham Moon, Blackpool FC Disability Liaison Officer: 07894 729367; dlo@blackpoolfc.co.uk

- Blue Badge free concession
- Council advertises 3 hours free on displayed badge plus correctly set clock; typical match visit can exceed concession
- Blackpool South platform access

- Blackpool North platform access
- Category A; ramps from surrounding roads and level concourse-to-platform access
- Accessible toilets
- Level Playing Field lists seven accessible toilets around the ground
After the match
After the match
Expect slow movement around Seasiders Way when supporters leave together, particularly after a busy Saturday match. If you parked beside the stadium, allow time to walk back and get out rather than assuming the short distance means a quick drive. South car park is a useful signed alternative, but it is not a guaranteed faster exit.
For public transport, check the return train from Blackpool South before kick-off because services are less frequent. The Seasider Specials operate for only an hour after league matches, and temporary roadworks can alter other buses. If you're leaving by rail from Blackpool North, leave enough time for the onward walk or connection rather than rushing to a booked train.
- After the match — stadium car park
- Allow extra time for pedestrian and vehicle flow around Seasiders Way; no verified fixed queue or exit time
- After the match — South car park
- Signed, 24-hour paid alternative; shorter or faster exit than the closest car parks not confirmed
- After the match — matchday bus
- Seasider Specials announced for one hour after final whistle on league matchdays
- After the match — Blackpool South rail
- Check Preston-line return before kick-off; less frequent departures and Sunday alterations can affect connections
- After the match — evening diversions
- Blackpool Transport reports 19:00–05:00 roadworks-related bus diversions affecting some services
Where to stay
Stay around Blackpool North and Talbot Road if you are coming by train and want pubs, food and the town centre after the match. Holiday Inn Blackpool is beside the station and North Station tram stop, so you can explore without arranging a car journey back from the ground.
If the football is the main reason for staying, Blackpool FC Stadium Hotel sits within Bloomfield Road itself. Radisson puts it about nine minutes on foot from Blackpool South station. The trade-off is a shorter walk to the match but a less central base for the evening; compare rates for your actual date rather than relying on sample weekday prices.
- Best stay base — train and nightlife
- Blackpool North and Talbot Road, close to mainline arrivals and central Blackpool
- Stay near Blackpool North
- Holiday Inn Blackpool, 85 Talbot Road; hotel says less than two minutes from Blackpool North and direct access to North Station tram stop
- Stay closest to ground
- Blackpool FC Stadium Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals, situated at Bloomfield Road
- Walk from Blackpool South to stadium hotel
- Radisson quotes nine minutes

Blackpool has two useful rail patterns. Blackpool South is the nearest station to Bloomfield Road but only has an hourly Preston service; Blackpool North has far more trains and is roughly a 25-minute walk. Visitors are currently in the East Stand, entering through turnstiles 18–21 or 22–25. North-station groups can meet centrally at The Castle or head towards The Manchester on the Promenade; South arrivals have the clearest away option in The Bridge, a designated visiting-supporters’ pub only a few minutes from the ground. The New Philly is also on the current official visiting list. Colours are less certain than access: older official guidance allowed them at The Bridge and Manchester, but current house policies were not found. For food, Yorkshire Fisheries is the strong town-centre chippy, Bloomfield Chippy suits the ground route, and the East Stand has hot dogs, pies and sausage rolls. Stay centrally/North for trains and nightlife, or around Bloomfield Road/South Shore for a football-first overnight.

Food & quick bites
Where to grab a bite, have a proper meal or try the local matchday favourite.
Bloomfield Road away-end kiosks
The away concourse has the usual matchday basics, including pies, sausage rolls and hot dogs, so there is a fallback after you enter the ground.
Barbell Bistro
A Bloomfield Road bistro mixing brunch, burgers and lighter meals, useful when you want something more substantial than matchday fast food.
Bloomfield Chippy
The practical near-ground chippy. Bloomfield Chippy is on Lytham Road beside the away-pub cluster and opens from noon on Saturdays, with fish and chips, battered sausage, scampi and quick sides.
Jimmy's Cafe
A daytime café close to the seafront side of the ground area, best for breakfast or lunch before an afternoon kick-off.
Lily's Traditional Fish & Chips
A well-established fish-and-chip option on Foxhall Road with both seating and takeaway, useful for families or supporters who want a proper meal before the ground.
Teapot Cafe
A traditional Lytham Road café serving breakfasts and home-cooked meals, useful for supporters who want a sit-down meal rather than pub food.
Yorkshire Fisheries
The best town-centre chippy lead for rail arrivals. Yorkshire Fisheries has traded on Topping Street for generations, opens through Saturday afternoon and early evening, and focuses on freshly prepared haddock, cod and chips.
Café263
A compact Lytham Road café serving all-day breakfast and sandwiches, especially useful for early arrivals who want food before the pubs become the main focus.
Peri Peri Chicken House
A practical fast-food stop on Lytham Road with chicken, pizza, burgers and donner, giving supporters a cheap non-pub option before or after the match.
Blackpool FC Community Trust Esports Fan Zone
The Community Trust has run an Esports Fan Zone this season, but this is event-specific rather than evidence of a permanent pre-match fanzone for away supporters.
Bentley's Fish & Chip Shop
A South Shore overnight pick rather than a station-to-ground recommendation. Bentley’s is a current family-run chippy on Bond Street with traditional fish and chips and established gluten-free options.
