FIXTURE STORY

FOLLOW CRYSTAL PALACE TO HULL CITY

This fixture is still months away, on 30 January. Today's table is useful background, but it is not a prediction of the positions either side will hold on matchday. If Crystal Palace are involved in the chase for a higher league finish by then, this could be an away result with real weight behind it.

Crystal Palace are 14th in the Premier League after 7 league games, with 7 points. Set that against the summer expectation: a side with survival to secure.

Hull City's last five recorded league games brought three draws and two defeats: three points from a possible fifteen. Those are results available now; the form heading into this fixture may be very different.

Hull City are 9th in the Premier League after 7 league games, with 9 points. Before the season, they were seen as a side likely to face a difficult survival fight.

The destination is MKM Stadium in Kingston upon Hull. Work back from kick-off when deciding whether this is a day trip or a night away. For most supporters, central Hull is the better overnight base. Park Street/Ferensway is the strongest football-first compromise: it keeps the station and city centre close while putting you on the normal matchday walking route towards the stadium. If the evening after the match matters more than the shortest walk, move east/south-east towards the Old Town and marina. Check the matchday travel arrangements again nearer the fixture.

An away day is a chance to follow Crystal Palace somewhere different and make a proper day of the football. Check ticket access and the confirmed kick-off before booking; leave enough time either side of the game to enjoy the visit as well as support the team.

Table and form checked 22 October.

Holiday Inn Express Hull City Centre by IHG

Holiday Inn Express Hull City Centre by IHG

Ferensway / St Stephen's / Hull Paragon Interchange

The best all-round MatchdayHotels choice for a typical Hull City trip. It is next to the rail/bus hub and St Stephen's, close enough to walk to the MKM Stadium, and still convenient for the city centre afterwards. Recent verified review evidence is strong for location, cleanliness and staff, while the price sample shows it can drop into genuinely good-value territory away from busier dates.

  • Immediately useful for rail travellers because Hull Paragon Interchange is next door/very close.
  • The normal stadium walk starts from the interchange area, so it avoids an awkward post-arrival transfer.
The match journey

Practical on foot. Hull City Council gives a 21-minute walk from Hull Paragon Interchange to the MKM Stadium; the hotel is immediately beside the interchange/St Stephen's area. Matchday access uses Park Street/Londesborough Street and the stadium link.

The trade-off

It is not the closest practical hotel to the ground; Park Hotel & Apartments cuts the walk.

Ferensway / St Stephen's / Hull Paragon Interchange

Our view

The best all-round MatchdayHotels choice for a typical Hull City trip. It is next to the rail/bus hub and St Stephen's, close enough to walk to the MKM Stadium, and still convenient for the city centre afterwards. Recent verified review evidence is strong for location, cleanliness and staff, while the price sample shows it can drop into genuinely good-value territory away from busier dates.

Why it suits this trip

  • Immediately useful for rail travellers because Hull Paragon Interchange is next door/very close.
  • The normal stadium walk starts from the interchange area, so it avoids an awkward post-arrival transfer.
  • Central enough for food and drinks, while not paying the consistent premium seen at the marina hotel in the sample.
  • Booking.com coverage was verified and recent Booking.com review scores were strong.
  • Breakfast is normally included, which improves the practical value for a one-night football stay.

Getting to the ground

Practical on foot. Hull City Council gives a 21-minute walk from Hull Paragon Interchange to the MKM Stadium; the hotel is immediately beside the interchange/St Stephen's area. Matchday access uses Park Street/Londesborough Street and the stadium link.

Pubs and the evening

Easy for central bars and restaurants, but not in the best part of the Old Town/Marina evening cluster. Allow an additional walk east for Humber Street, Trinity Square and the historic pub circuit.

Arriving by train

One of the strongest rail-arrival choices: the hotel is next to the interchange/St Stephen's complex.

The trade-offs

  • It is not the closest practical hotel to the ground; Park Hotel & Apartments cuts the walk.
  • It is west of the Old Town/marina nightlife core, so a supporter prioritising late bars and waterfront restaurants has better-located options.
  • Recent reviews are broadly positive but include recurring comments that the cooked breakfast can be inconsistent and occasional comments about firm/lumpy beds or noise.
  • Parking is chargeable.

Research price context

Sampled around £67-£122 midweek and £89-£100 on Friday/Saturday nights. The sample did not show a normal weekend premium; date-specific demand mattered more.

Park Hotel & Apartments

Park Street / west edge of Hull city centre

The closest practical football choice found in the central hotel market and the most matchday-specific property in the shortlist. • Roughly a 16-minute practical walk to the MKM Stadium according to current hotel-location listings.
  • Park Street forms part of the official matchday walking route from Hull Paragon Interchange.
The match journey

Best practical walking relationship of the main shortlist. Park Street is on the official city-centre-to-stadium route; current hotel-location data quotes about 16 minutes on foot.

The trade-off

It is a simpler independent/value property rather than a full-service four-star chain hotel.

Our view

The closest practical football choice found in the central hotel market and the most matchday-specific property in the shortlist. It sits on Park Street, directly on the normal walking line from the interchange towards the MKM Stadium, and the hotel itself opens its bar around Hull City/Hull FC home games.

Why it suits this trip

  • Roughly a 16-minute practical walk to the MKM Stadium according to current hotel-location listings.
  • Park Street forms part of the official matchday walking route from Hull Paragon Interchange.
  • Still close to the station and city centre rather than isolating the supporter beside the ground.
  • The hotel explicitly adjusts its bar opening around Hull City and Hull FC home matches.
  • Recent verified reviews include specific football visitors praising the location for both station and stadium.
  • Booking.com price sampling was unusually stable at around £80-£85.

Getting to the ground

Best practical walking relationship of the main shortlist. Park Street is on the official city-centre-to-stadium route; current hotel-location data quotes about 16 minutes on foot.

Pubs and the evening

There are central options nearby and the hotel opens its own bar for home matches, but Old Town, Fruit Market and the marina are better for a dedicated post-match pub/food evening.

Arriving by train

About a 6-7 minute walk from the station/interchange in current location listings.

The trade-offs

  • It is a simpler independent/value property rather than a full-service four-star chain hotel.
  • It is not in the Old Town/marina nightlife core.
  • Recent reviews are positive overall but include occasional maintenance/housekeeping details such as missing bathroom tiles, bulbs or strong cleaning-product smells.
  • On-site parking is chargeable and limited.

Research price context

Remarkably steady in the sample: about £80 midweek and roughly £80-£85 on Friday/Saturday nights.

Holiday Inn Hull Marina by IHG

Holiday Inn Hull Marina by IHG

Hull Marina / edge of Old Town and Fruit Market

The strongest full-service choice when the post-match evening matters most. It sits on Hull Marina, giving easy access to Old Town, Humber Street/Fruit Market and the city's historic pub and food cluster. It is a materially longer walk back from the MKM Stadium and usually costs more than the football-first options.

  • Directly on the marina and well placed for Old Town/Fruit Market pubs, restaurants and bars.
  • Recent verified reviews repeatedly praise the location, staff and cleanliness.
The match journey

Walkable for many supporters but no longer the shortest football-first option. The 1.2-mile figure is approximate straight-line separation; a practical walking route is longer and generally around half an hour. Taxi is a sensible fallback after a late or wet match.

The trade-off

Longer stadium walk than Ferensway/Park Street options; a taxi after the match may be attractive in poor weather.

Our view

The strongest full-service choice when the post-match evening matters most. It sits on Hull Marina, giving easy access to Old Town, Humber Street/Fruit Market and the city's historic pub and food cluster. It is a materially longer walk back from the MKM Stadium and usually costs more than the football-first options.

  • Recent verified reviews repeatedly praise the location, staff and cleanliness.
  • Full-service hotel with restaurant/bar and on-site parking.
  • Booking.com coverage is verified.
  • Good fit for couples or groups who want the match plus a proper evening in Hull rather than simply the shortest stadium walk.

Getting to the ground

Walkable for many supporters but no longer the shortest football-first option. The 1.2-mile figure is approximate straight-line separation; a practical walking route is longer and generally around half an hour. Taxi is a sensible fallback after a late or wet match.

Pubs and the evening

This is the reason to choose it. Visit Hull highlights the Old Town's historic pubs plus Humber Street/Fruit Market and the marina for food, craft beer, cocktails and later evening options.

Arriving by train

Walkable from the station, but less immediate than the Ferensway/Park Street hotels.

The trade-offs

  • Longer stadium walk than Ferensway/Park Street options; a taxi after the match may be attractive in poor weather.
  • Most expensive of the three primary recommendations in the six-night sample.
  • Some recent reviews describe rooms, bathrooms or corridor finishes as dated/worn.
  • Occasional comments mention noisy air-conditioning or operational noise.

Research price context

Sampled around £86-£141 midweek and £109-£136 on Friday/Saturday nights. The average weekend premium was small; the bigger issue is that this hotel simply sits at a higher normal price point than the football-first value options.

What to expect at Hull City

All the key information for Crystal Palace supporters heading to MKM Stadium — from the ground and atmosphere to food, access, parking and matchday practicalities.

YOUR AWAY DAY · MKM Stadium

The ground

Crystal Palace at Hull City

A modern asymmetrical bowl in West Park, council-owned and shared with Hull FC. Its character comes less from architectural age than from what has been layered onto it: black/amber civic detail, the Chris Chilton stand name, rail-seating areas, a vocal North Stand and the contrast with the very different Boothferry Park remembered by older supporters.

Recorded capacity
25,400

Views from the away section

Away views are generally very good.

Supporter observation

A Coventry supporter reviewing the April 2025 visit to the MKM described the away-end view as excellent and unobstructed, with a large visiting following able to stand together without sightline complaints.

Why the ground matters

The MKM Stadium is the stage for Hull’s successful modern era, but it makes most sense beside Boothferry Park rather than instead of it. The old ground holds the club’s post-war boom, financial decline and oddities; the new one holds the four-division climb, Wembley eras and shared football/rugby civic identity.

Chris Chilton / Johnny Whiteley East Stand

The same stand has football and rugby commemorative identities, honouring two local sporting figures.

North Stand

A September 2026 supporter guide identifies it as the main vocal home end; safe-standing rail seating was introduced in 2025.

Away corner

2026 guides place away supporters around the north-east corner, with sections of the North/East area depending on allocation.

West Stand

The only side with an upper tier, which gives the bowl its asymmetry and distinguishes the main-stand side from the rest of the continuous lower tier.

Matchday arrangements can change. Check current club guidance and your ticket before travelling.

YOUR AWAY DAY · MKM Stadium

Atmosphere & acoustics

Crystal Palace at Hull City

The curved bowl can retain noise; safe-standing provision helps a vocal travelling section.

City Till I Die

Most identity-heavy in the 2013/14 protest context, when it was deliberately sung at 19:04.

Mauled by the Tigers

A theatrical chant accompanied by clawing/mauling gestures. HCSS attributes its creation to two veteran members; that origin should be treated as supporter oral history.

Appleton’s Black and Amber Army

HCSS remembers an extended 1983 rendition at Peterborough, turning a standard manager chant into an endurance performance.

The Tigers Are Back

A 1983 fundraiser/club song involving local creative figures Mark Herman and Henry Priestman during the Don Robinson revival.

19:04 protest singing

A campaign-era ritual tied precisely to the 1904 foundation year; historically important even if not assumed to be a permanent current practice.

Matchday arrangements can change. Check current club guidance and your ticket before travelling.

Food & drink

Crystal Palace at Hull City

Rail arrivals should base the day around Hull Paragon rather than chase a pub beside the MKM. The Admiral of the Humber, three minutes from the station, has current CAMRA backing as away-friendly; from there it is roughly 20–25 minutes down Anlaby Road, with the pedestrian bridge after Hull Royal Infirmary leading into West Park. Visiting supporters are in the north-east corner.

Food and drink around the ground

The Tigers Trust Arena Bar is normally the cleanest close-ground choice because the Official Supporters Club explicitly welcomes away fans, with New Walton Club another established option; most other nearby pubs are Hull-heavy and colours policies are patchy.

Food is a genuine strength: the MKM's pies and street-food boxes are unusually broad, Kingfisher is the local chippy lead, while Trinity Market, Bob Carver's and the Marina/Old Town independents make the centre worth using. For overnight trips, stay near Paragon/Ferensway for transport or Old Town/Marina for the evening. Hull Fair changes the Everton fixture: Walton Street is closed to traffic and the Tigers Trust bar is shut.

The Admiral of the Humber

The clearest rail-arrival pub in Hull. Current CAMRA information calls it away-fan friendly, and its position beside Paragon means you can meet, eat and then follow Anlaby Road towards the ground.

Accessibility

Crystal Palace at Hull City

Arrange accessible tickets and any stadium-perimeter parking with Hull City before you travel. The club’s disability liaison contact can check visiting wheelchair allocations, the correct entrance and whether an on-site pass is available for your fixture. General stadium parking is not the same as a reserved accessible space. The Walton Street matchday car park is free for Blue Badge holders and provides a fallback when on-site disabled spaces have been allocated.

Accessible journeys

Hull City’s published provision includes away wheelchair positions, accessible toilets and assistance, but confirm your exact route and seating needs directly rather than assuming every approach is step-free. Hull Paragon station is step-free to every platform. For a lower-walking alternative, ask the club about the designated drop-off on the West Park perimeter road and whether any event-day road closures change access.

Planning your arrival

Be at the stadium perimeter before the busiest turnstile period.

Rail, Underground & tram

If you are coming from Leeds, Doncaster, Sheffield or further afield, check the return connection before you decide whether to stay for a drink after full-time. Hull station has step-free access to all platforms, with staffed assistance available. That does not mean every stretch of the outdoor walk is suitable for all wheelchair users, so arrange support or accessible drop-off separately where necessary.

Main rail arrival

Station to stadium
21-minute walk using the council’s Park Street, Londesborough Street and Argyle Street event-day link; additional time needed to away entrance.

Station to ground & away entrance

Head for the visiting-supporter section in the north-east corner of the MKM Stadium, rather than stopping at the first home turnstiles you pass. Independent ground guides identify the away section around the North and East Stand corner, but your ticket and matchday stewards should decide the precise gate and block. From Hull Paragon, walk towards Park Street and follow Londesborough Street to the Argyle Street stadium footbridge.

This shortens the route through West Park on event days, although you should still allow time to walk round to the visiting entrance. If you come in from Anlaby Road or the Walton Street parking side, follow the signed paths around the stadium and keep clear of the controlled vehicle entrances. The stadium address is West Park, Hull HU3 6HU.

Buses & local travel

For most rail arrivals, walking is the simplest choice. If you would rather save your legs, Stagecoach service 2 runs from Hull city centre towards Anlaby Road, with stops close to the stadium. Its published daytime frequency can be as often as every ten minutes, but evening and Sunday services are less frequent. Priory Park & Ride is the more useful bus option for drivers approaching Hull from the west.

Park for free at Priory Park, buy a bus ticket and use the matchday connection to Anlaby Road near the stadium. Check the actual post-match departure arrangements, particularly for Sunday games or late kick-offs. Stagecoach also advertises football buses from the West Park/Anlaby Road event stop after selected Saturday and midweek fixtures. These serve particular local routes, so do not assume they provide a direct return to Paragon.

YOUR AWAY DAY · MKM Stadium

Parking

Crystal Palace at Hull City

You do not need to gamble on residential parking at Hull City. On a normal matchday, Walton Street car park (HU3 6GA) is the easiest choice at £6 per vehicle, paid by card or contactless. It is a short walk through West Park, and spaces are taken on arrival rather than individually reserved. If you want free parking, Priory Park & Ride is the supported alternative. Its 650 spaces are free to use, with a paid bus towards Anlaby Road and the stadium.

Parking & park-and-ride

Check the return service for evening or Sunday fixtures. Do not assume streets immediately around West Park are unrestricted. Hull City Council runs a stadium residents’ permit zone, while older fan tips suggest free spaces farther west off Anlaby Road. We could not confirm which individual stretches are legally unrestricted for a whole football visit, so none is recommended as a dependable free street.

St Stephen’s Shopping Centre (HU2 8LN) is a good paid fallback with 24-hour parking: currently £3.50 for three to four hours or £6 for four to six hours. Allow around four to five hours for your visit, including the walk in both directions, the match and time leaving the stadium. Its early-evening entry tariff may help at later kick-offs. Aim to arrive 60–90 minutes before kick-off, especially for a busy fixture.

Walton Street normally opens three hours before kick-off and closes three hours after full-time, and exit queues can take time. During Hull Fair, use a different plan. Walton Street was closed to normal traffic from 6 to 18 October 2026, including the Hull City–Everton fixture on 11 October. The council recommended public transport and special arrangements. Do not assume the ordinary £6 Walton Street car park is operating during that period.

Parking verdict
On normal matchdays, pay £6 at Walton Street or use free Priory Park parking with a paid bus; do not rely on unverified residential streets.
Best all-round — Walton Street
Official shared-stadium matchday parking, HU3 6GA, £6 per car by card/contactless; open 3 hours pre-kick-off to 3 hours after full-time.
Walton Street capacity
Hull FC says the site has about 1,100 combined car and coach spaces; availability is first-come, not a specific pre-booked bay.
Walton Street Blue Badge tariff
Free parking at Walton Street for Blue Badge holders.

Walton Street late exit

Free option — Priory Park & Ride

Priory published fare
£3 single or £5.50 return published for Stagecoach/East Yorkshire ordinary services; fixture-specific fare may differ.
Legal restrictions — stadium zone
Council operates stadium-zone resident permits, and neighbouring streets include permit-only restrictions; check entry signs.
Matchday availability — nearby roads
An older supporter report mentions Parkfield Drive and further west off Anlaby Road, but no current side-by-side legal order was established.
Walk — Walton Street
Short walking access via West Park; exact minutes to away north-east turnstiles not independently verified.
Walk — St Stephen’s
About 18 minutes to stadium per visiting-club guide; allow additional minutes to away turnstiles.
Paid fallback — St Stephen’s
24-hour public car park at HU2 8LN; £3.50 for 3–4h, £6 for 4–6h, £8 for 6–8h.
St Stephen’s entry after 17:00
Operator says £1 after 17:00 until midnight; operator has a separate restaurant/leisure-validation concession not automatically available for football.
Booking recommendation
Normal Walton Street is an on-arrival managed car park rather than a specified guaranteed allocated bay; no booking usually needed, but arrive early.
Arrive by — normal fixtures
Editorial advice: aim to park 60–90 minutes before kick-off; busy fixtures may require more time.
Supermarket permission/time limit
Tesco St Stephen’s says supermarket maximum-stay rules vary by store and on-site signage; football visitor permission not confirmed.
Retail maximum stay example
Anlaby Retail Park (HU10 6RJ) enforces a 3-hour ANPR maximum with £100 parking charge; not suitable for matchday parking.
Total dwell time
Allow at least 4–5 hours for early arrival, both walks, match/half-time and dispersal, longer for food or cup extra time.
After the match
Walton Street may have slow egress; St Stephen’s or Priory Park can reduce car traffic around ground subject to transfer times.
Hull Fair exception — 2026
Walton Street was closed to normal road traffic 6–18 October, including Hull City v Everton 11 October; normal Walton Street parking cannot be assumed.
2026 Fair alternate arrangements
Council mentions limited parking inside MKM stadium site and additional buses/park-and-ride, but availability and permitted access are fixture-specific.
Sunday and evening advice
Ordinary Priory Park timetable may not cover post-match return after late/Sunday fixture; verify dedicated matchday buses.
Advance private driveway booking
Could be used if authorised, but no exact operator product, guaranteed bay or matchday tariff was independently verified.

Driving & road restrictions

For a normal matchday, use Walton Street car park, HU3 6GA, rather than entering the stadium postcode and trying to reach a stand by car. Approaching from the M62 and A63, follow the stadium parking signs and the traffic stewards towards Walton Street. The ground itself is at West Park, HU3 6HU. Expect the roads around Anlaby Road, Walton Street and the hospital side to be busy near kick-off and again when the crowd leaves.

If your priority is a simpler exit, St Stephen’s city-centre car park or Priory Park & Ride can be easier to plan than a space immediately next to the ground. In October, check Hull Fair restrictions before setting out. For 6–18 October 2026, the council closed Walton Street to normal traffic and imposed nearby lane restrictions, including on Anlaby Road.

A familiar sat-nav route may therefore be unavailable even if stadium access is maintained through a different entrance.

YOUR AWAY DAY · MKM Stadium

Worth knowing

Crystal Palace at Hull City

For an away supporter, Hull is most interesting when the MKM is read as the modern end of a much stranger football story: a shared rugby/football civic stadium replacing Boothferry Park, with a home support whose strongest modern identity fight concerned the club’s name rather than a result.

Matchday features

Approx. 1,105 away safe-standing places. Curved roof architecture. Shared rugby venue. Street-food signal

Bags and entry

Check current stadium policy.

A modern ground with clear sightlines

Football Ground Guide’s 2026 update describes generally good, unobstructed views.

The visiting section sits close to vocal home support

Current supporter guides place away fans around the north-east corner while identifying the North Stand as Hull’s main singing area, which can create a sharper sound exchange than a fully isolated end.

The East Stand name tells a story

Chris Chilton for football, Johnny Whiteley for rugby: a visitor can read Hull’s two-code sporting culture directly from the stadium.

Tiger language is old; “Hull City” is the defended identity

The useful distinction is that supporters did not reject “Tigers”; they resisted making it replace the club’s historic playing name.

The Chris Chilton name

It is not generic sponsorship: it honours the club’s 222-goal record holder.

Shared-stadium clues

The East Stand’s alternate Johnny Whiteley identity and the venue’s neutral/shared elements reflect football and rugby league occupying the same civic building.

Rail seating

Introduced in 2025 in home and away areas; it changes the physical look and behaviour of the noisier sections.

What is missing

The biggest historical contrast is that the MKM has none of Boothferry Park’s supermarket-wall, crumbling-sign or improvised feel. That absence is part of why older-ground nostalgia remains strong.

Boothferry Park

Home from 1946 to 2002; record crowds, Carter, the 1970 penalty shoot-out, later financial decline and the supermarket-end oddity all sit here.

Anlaby Road

The first purpose-built home survives in fragments significant enough for an active supporters’ trust heritage project.

Matchday arrangements can change. Check current club guidance and your ticket before travelling.

Supporter insights combine the site's existing official guidance, supporter-oriented research and fixture checks.

The railway and bus interchange share one site, so you can change to a local bus without crossing the city. If you are coming from Leeds, Doncaster, Sheffield or further afield, check the return connection before you decide whether to stay for a drink after full-time.

Coaches

Away coaches

If you are travelling with your club’s official coaches, use the drop-off and collection instructions supplied for that fixture. Walton Street normally provides managed space for cars and coaches beside the stadium, but its entry arrangements and the exact coach holding area are controlled by the organisers.

Once you are dropped off, follow the stewards towards the visiting entrance in the north-east corner. Do not assume a coach will be waiting beside the same gate straight after the game. The West Park paths are busy with pedestrians, and coaches may be released in a managed order.

There is an important seasonal exception: Hull Fair takes over the Walton Street area every October. During the published 6–18 October 2026 restrictions, normal road access was closed, so any coach party needed fixture-specific instructions from the operator rather than the usual postcode.

Usual coach parking area
Walton Street event car park has capacity for cars and coaches; exact allocation set by matchday stewarding.
Standard venue postcode
MKM Stadium, West Park HU3 6HU; ordinary Walton Street vehicle-parking postcode HU3 6GA.
Arrival and collection location
Exact visiting coach loading and collection stand is fixture-specific and not confirmed from current club sources.
Annual October exception
Hull Fair closed Walton Street and affected West Park internal access 6–18 October 2026.

Accessibility

Accessible journeys

Arrange accessible tickets and any stadium-perimeter parking with Hull City before you travel. The club’s disability liaison contact can check visiting wheelchair allocations, the correct entrance and whether an on-site pass is available for your fixture. General stadium parking is not the same as a reserved accessible space.

The Walton Street matchday car park is free for Blue Badge holders and provides a fallback when on-site disabled spaces have been allocated.

Hull City disability liaison
Leanne Jensen, leanne.jensen@wearehullcity.co.uk; telephone 01482 358303 via Level Playing Field.
Away wheelchair spaces
Level Playing Field states 16 away wheelchair positions and 100 easy-access / amenity positions; information last club-reviewed August 2024, reconfirm.
Away accessible toilets
Level Playing Field lists two accessible toilets in away areas; reconfirm.
Changing Places facility
Facility in West Stand; arrange access with stewards.
Accessible stadium parking
Limited on-site spaces arranged through club; Walton Street is free for Blue Badge holders.
Drop-off
Visiting-club guide mentions a managed drop-off/taxi area on West Park perimeter road with cut-off around 45 minutes before kick-off; check fixture.
Station
Hull Paragon is step-free to every platform (Category A).
Audio headsets
Level Playing Field says three away audio commentary headsets, book through disability liaison; not full audio description.
Wayfinding limitations
Some away wheelchair-user reports raise sightline and stewarding concerns; request exact access and seat location.
After the match

After the match

If you have come by train, allow time to walk back to Hull Paragon rather than relying on a taxi through the stadium traffic. The Argyle Street stadium link is normally open on matchdays and leads towards Londesborough Street and the city centre. Check your train connection beforehand, especially after an evening kick-off.

If you parked on Walton Street, expect stewards to manage the exit and leave room for the walking crowd. Visiting-supporter reports describe delays getting onto Walton Street, so do not plan a tight motorway connection after full-time.

Priory Park & Ride keeps your car away from the ground but adds a bus journey after the match. Use the signed Anlaby Road matchday bus stop and check the last return service. During Hull Fair or another large event, follow that fixture’s closures rather than the normal Walton Street route.

Rail return
Allow council’s 21-minute station walk plus additional crowd and away-sector exit time.
Matchday footbridge
Argyle Street link available on matchdays and major events, not normally open every day.
Walton Street exit
Older visiting-club guide warns exit delays; 2026 Hull FC guide describes end-specific vehicle directions.
Post-match special buses
Stagecoach 2A/5/12 from Anlaby Road/West Park event stop on selected Saturday 3pm and midweek events.
Priory return
Check dedicated matchday bus times, which can differ from regular timetable.
Rail and coach connection
Actual last train, coach departure order and queue length vary by fixture.
Hull Fair October 2026
Walton Street and other access restrictions in force until 18 October 15:00.

Where to stay

Stay around Hull Paragon, Ferensway or Park Street if you want the easiest balance of football and an evening in town. You can walk to the MKM Stadium from the interchange and return without depending on taxis or a late bus. Park Hotel & Apartments on Park Street is one established central option.

If you want restaurants and pubs after the game, Hull Old Town and the Fruit Market around Humber Street are more appealing than booking beside West Park. You will have a longer walk back from the ground, but far more choice once you arrive.

For a quick stadium-first visit, a central hotel close to the station is still more useful than a room chosen purely because it is west of the city. If you are driving, check your hotel’s parking conditions and overnight price separately from the matchday stadium car parks.

Best rail/stadium hotel area
Hull Paragon, Ferensway and Park Street: central, walkable to ground and rail services.
Specific hotel option
Park Hotel & Apartments, Park Street, HU2 8RR.
Hotel parking terms
Park Hotel lists paid on-site parking around £8.20 per 24 hours through Tap2Park at inspected date; not a guaranteed booking rate.
Best nightlife area
Old Town, Marina and Humber Street Fruit Market.
Hotel trade-off
Near Paragon favours train and football access; Old Town/Fruit Market favours a longer evening.
Night fixture
Plan last train or overnight stay if connection is tight; no assumed live train schedule.

Matchday services and parking arrangements can change. Confirm current details before travelling.

PUB / BAR

The Admiral of the Humber

1 Anlaby Road, Hull, HU1 2NR
22 min walkAway access: checkFamily friendly
BEST FORtrain arrivals · meeting point · breakfast · overnight stay
MATCHDAY INTELThe clearest rail-arrival pub in Hull. Current CAMRA information calls it away-fan friendly, and its position beside Paragon means you can meet, eat and then follow Anlaby Road towards the ground.
WORTH KNOWINGCAMRA says exceptions to away admission can apply. There is no current published colours guarantee, so high-risk fixtures still need common sense.
PUB / BAR

Tigers Trust Arena Bar

Tigers Trust Arena, West Park, Walton Street, Hull, HU3 6GA
4 min walkAway access: checkFamily friendly
BEST FORlast drink · away supporters · families · close to turnstiles
MATCHDAY INTELNormally the safest close-ground choice. Hull City's Official Supporters Club explicitly says both home and away supporters are welcome, with no membership required.
WORTH KNOWINGEarly-kick-off opening times are otherwise published as fixture-dependent.
PUB / BAR

Minerva

Nelson Street, Hull, HU1 1XE
30 min walkAway access: checkFamily friendly
BEST FORproper meal · Old Town stay · Sunday lunch · cask ale
MATCHDAY INTELThe best fit if your away day starts in the Marina rather than at Paragon. It offers proper pub food, local beer and an easier atmosphere than the stadium-side home pubs.
WORTH KNOWINGCurrent supporter guidance recommends it, but there is no published away-colours policy. Allow more time than the station route because the Marina sits east of Paragon.
PUB / BAR

New Walton Club

243 Walton Street, Hull, HU3 6JR
10 min walkAway access: check
BEST FORaway colours · cheap pre-match pint · near-ground stop
MATCHDAY INTELThe established non-pub alternative near the ground. Current Hull supporter guidance says visiting fans are welcome and colours are fine, making it much clearer than most Walton Street and Anlaby Road options.
WORTH KNOWINGThe club's own opening for that fixture was not independently confirmed.
PUB / BAR

Ye Olde White Harte

25 Silver Street, Hull, HU1 1JG
25 min walkAway access: check
BEST FOROld Town stay · cask ale · pre-match pint
MATCHDAY INTELA better choice for an Old Town pre-match pint than gambling on the home-heavy pubs by the stadium. Current Hull supporter guidance includes it among visiting-fan options.
WORTH KNOWINGAway admission and colours are not published venue policies. Treat the supporter-guide recommendation as useful evidence, not a guarantee for every fixture.
PUB / BAR

Parkers

Anlaby Road, Hull, HU3 6NS
6 min walkAway access: check
BEST FORshort walk · televised sport · experienced away groups
MATCHDAY INTELA current but lower-confidence close-ground option. A Hull supporter advising Coventry fans in 2026 described Parkers as a good mixed-fans pub, and the venue is currently trading.
WORTH KNOWINGThat mixed-fans description is supporter evidence, not a venue policy. Colours were not verified, and wider Hull guidance says most pubs close to the ground are home-heavy.

What to eatCurrent supporter guidance highlights chicken balti and vegan pies, chicken katsu, gyros, loaded fries, dirty dogs and cheesy chips with Hull-style chip spice.

One ground where eating inside is defensible. The choice goes well beyond a basic burger: pies and rotating street-food boxes are a real part of the current MKM matchday offer.

What to eatTraditional fish and chips, patties and beef-dripping chips are the current supporter recommendations; add chip spice if you want the Hull version.

breakfast and brunchindependent cafe
What to eatBreakfasts, brunch dishes, sandwiches and coffee are the main draw; a current menu includes full breakfasts and breakfast sandwiches.

A strong breakfast or brunch for supporters staying around the Marina. It is not on the direct station-to-ground line, but it makes sense if the waterfront is your overnight base.

35 min walkAway access: checkFamily friendly
BEST FORovernight stay · breakfast · brunch · early arrival

tapassit-down restaurant
What to eatA broad tapas menu with meat, fish, vegetarian and vegan sharing plates; group bookings and children's options make it practical for mixed parties.

The proper-meal option for a Marina stay. It works better for families and groups who want to sit down together than for supporters chasing a fast pint and pie near the ground.

35 min walkAway access: checkFamily friendly
BEST FORproper meal · families · groups · overnight stay
WORTH KNOWINGIt is open daily, but this is not a football venue and no away-colours policy was found. Booking is sensible around busy weekend fixtures.
