FIXTURE STORY

FOLLOW BURTON ALBION TO LEYTON ORIENT

This fixture is still months away, on 23 January. Today's table is useful background, but it is not a prediction of the positions either side will hold on matchday. If Burton Albion are involved in the promotion picture by then, this could be an away result with real weight behind it.

Burton Albion are 14th in League One after 12 league games, with 14 points. Before the season, they were seen as a side likely to face a survival fight.

Leyton Orient are 12th in League One after 11 league games, with 14 points.

Burton Albion's last five recorded league games brought one win, two draws and two defeats: five points from a possible fifteen. Recent results give Leyton Orient seven points from a possible fifteen, with two wins, one draw and two defeats in their last five league games. Those are results available now; the form heading into this fixture may be very different.

The destination is BetWright Stadium in London. Work back from kick-off when deciding whether this is a day trip or a night away. For most overnight supporters, Stratford is the sensible default. It is one Central line stop from Leyton, has the strongest rail connections for arriving/leaving London, and gives you far more hotel and evening choice. The Lion & Key is the exception for supporters who want to walk back from the ground. Check the matchday travel arrangements again nearer the fixture.

Make the football the reason to go and give yourself enough time to enjoy it. Check the confirmed kick-off and ticket arrangements before committing to travel or a hotel, then choose the plan that lets you support Burton Albion from the away end without rushing the whole day.

Table and form checked 22 October.

Hyatt Regency London Stratford

Hyatt Regency London Stratford

Stratford / Westfield Stratford City

The strongest all-round choice for a typical Orient overnight: a dependable full-service four-star beside Westfield, around six minutes on foot from Stratford Station, with a one-stop Central line ride to Leyton and far more food, drink and onward rail choice than staying beside the ground.

  • Stratford Station is about a six-minute walk; Leyton is one stop away on the Central line and the stadium is then less than 10 minutes from Leyton station.
  • The hotel sits directly by Westfield Stratford City, so food, late-evening options and practical essentials are easy before and after the match.
The match journey

About 1.2 miles straight-line from the stadium. The practical route is a ~6-minute walk to Stratford Station, one Central line stop to Leyton, then less than 10 minutes on foot to the ground.

The trade-off

It is not a walk-back-from-the-turnstiles hotel; the sensible matchday route is Stratford to Leyton by Central line rather than walking the whole way.

WHY STAY HERE?

Hyatt Regency London Stratford

Stratford / Westfield Stratford City

Our view

The strongest all-round choice for a typical Orient overnight: a dependable full-service four-star beside Westfield, around six minutes on foot from Stratford Station, with a one-stop Central line ride to Leyton and far more food, drink and onward rail choice than staying beside the ground.

Why it suits this trip

  • Stratford Station is about a six-minute walk; Leyton is one stop away on the Central line and the stadium is then less than 10 minutes from Leyton station.
  • The hotel sits directly by Westfield Stratford City, so food, late-evening options and practical essentials are easy before and after the match.
  • Recent Booking.com and Tripadvisor evidence is strong for cleanliness, location, room comfort and transport convenience.
  • On the selected football-trip baseline dates, weekend pricing did not show a systematic premium over midweek pricing.

Getting to the ground

About 1.2 miles straight-line from the stadium. The practical route is a ~6-minute walk to Stratford Station, one Central line stop to Leyton, then less than 10 minutes on foot to the ground.

Pubs and the evening

Large choice of restaurants and bars around Westfield and Stratford; Hackney Wick is nearby for a more independent bar/brewery night.

Arriving by train

Approximately six minutes on foot; major Underground, Elizabeth line, Overground, DLR and National Rail interchange.

The trade-offs

  • It is not a walk-back-from-the-turnstiles hotel; the sensible matchday route is Stratford to Leyton by Central line rather than walking the whole way.
  • Four-star Stratford rates can still jump around concerts, London Stadium events and busy city dates.
  • Recent review evidence includes occasional air-conditioning/service issues, although these are not the dominant pattern.

Research price context

Sampled baseline: roughly £199–£232 midweek (average about £211) and £159–£247 on the sampled Fri/Sat nights (average about £195). No consistent weekend premium appeared in this sample.

The Lion & Key Hotel

The Lion & Key Hotel

Leyton High Road

The obvious choice if the priority is getting back to the room on foot after full-time. It is a genuine independent four-star on Leyton High Road, around 0.3 miles straight-line from Brisbane Road and an easy short walk, with much stronger recent review evidence than the tiny local hotel market might suggest.

  • Closest genuinely practical hotel found: the ground and hotel are both on the Leyton High Road/Brisbane Road side of the neighbourhood, so there is no need to rely on the Tube after the match.
  • Current direct site confirms a 55-room four-star hotel with on-site brasserie, air conditioning and 24-hour operation.
The match journey

Verified hotel and stadium coordinates are about 0.30 miles apart straight-line. Allow roughly 7–9 minutes on foot via the local High Road/Oliver Road street network; this is the only primary pick where walking back is the natural default.

The trade-off

Leyton is a local matchday neighbourhood, not the best base for a bigger post-match night; Stratford has much more choice.

Our view

The obvious choice if the priority is getting back to the room on foot after full-time. It is a genuine independent four-star on Leyton High Road, around 0.3 miles straight-line from Brisbane Road and an easy short walk, with much stronger recent review evidence than the tiny local hotel market might suggest.

Why it suits this trip

  • Closest genuinely practical hotel found: the ground and hotel are both on the Leyton High Road/Brisbane Road side of the neighbourhood, so there is no need to rely on the Tube after the match.
  • Current direct site confirms a 55-room four-star hotel with on-site brasserie, air conditioning and 24-hour operation.
  • Recent Tripadvisor evidence is particularly strong for staff, cleanliness, breakfast and sleep quality.
  • Booking.com coverage is verified, so it works with MatchdayHotels current principal affiliate provider.

Getting to the ground

Verified hotel and stadium coordinates are about 0.30 miles apart straight-line. Allow roughly 7–9 minutes on foot via the local High Road/Oliver Road street network; this is the only primary pick where walking back is the natural default.

Pubs and the evening

Useful local pubs, takeaways and the hotel brasserie, but much less depth than Stratford/East Village/Hackney Wick for a full evening.

Arriving by train

The hotel itself says Leyton Underground is about a 14-minute walk. For the football trip, the ground is closer than the Tube, so rail is mainly relevant for arrival/departure rather than the post-match return.

The trade-offs

  • Leyton is a local matchday neighbourhood, not the best base for a bigger post-match night; Stratford has much more choice.
  • Friday/Saturday prices were much more volatile than midweek in the selected sample and can be poor value when demand tightens.
  • Parking is limited/paid and one recent review reported a cleanliness lapse and overnight noise; this was not a repeated pattern across the recent sample.

Research price context

Sampled baseline: roughly £141–£169 midweek (average about £152) and £133–£263 on the sampled Fri/Sat nights (average about £202). The sample shows a meaningful weekend uplift overall, but with large date-to-date swings.

Our view

Best fit for supporters who want the stay to continue after the match rather than just provide a bed. Why it suits this trip

Getting to the ground

About 1.0 mile straight-line from the stadium. Practical matchday return is via Leyton Underground to Stratford, then roughly five minutes on foot to the hotel.

Pubs and the evening

Strongest nightlife pick: rooftop bar and multiple venues in the hotel, with East Village and Hackney Wick bars/breweries nearby.

Arriving by train

Hilton states Stratford station is about five minutes away and Stratford International about two minutes away.

The trade-offs

  • Usually the most premium-feeling option and rates can be highly volatile around Stratford events.
  • It is not close enough to make walking from the ground the obvious choice; use Leyton to Stratford on the Central line.
  • A recent September 2026 review reported persistent room temperature/air-conditioning problems; this is not the dominant review pattern but is worth surfacing.

Research price context

Sampled baseline: roughly £188–£263 midweek (average about £228) and £135–£254 on the sampled Fri/Sat nights (average about £207). No consistent weekend premium appeared; event and availability effects matter more than day-of-week alone.

What to expect at Leyton Orient

YOUR AWAY DAY · BetWright Stadium

The ground

Burton Albion at Leyton Orient

A compact East London ground assembled in layers. The modern West Stand is tall and comparatively corporate; the East Stand is much older and carries visible-post sightline compromises; the corners are unusually entangled with residential development. It feels like a stadium that has had to negotiate the city around it rather than flatten the city to make room.

Views from the away section

Mostly good but some supporting-pillar restriction exists.

Brisbane Road’s away section contains several support pillars, so seat position matters; moving a few rows back/away from the columns improves the chance of seeing both goals cleanly.

Why the ground matters

Brisbane Road is the fixed point in a club history otherwise full of name changes, financial scares and divisional movement. Orient have played there since 1937, and its very limitations—tight urban footprint, old East Stand, residential corners and a mixture of structures from different eras—are part of why it feels specific rather than interchangeable.

Justin Edinburgh Stand / West Stand

The main West Stand was renamed for Justin Edinburgh in 2020. It houses major club functions and the club shop side of the ground; the JE3 association makes a recent emotional story physically permanent.

Tommy Johnston South Stand

Named for the club's celebrated record goalscorer. It is also associated with a louder section of the home support, linking player heritage with present-day atmosphere.

East Stand

The oldest-feeling part of the current ground, with support pillars that can affect views. The away allocation has normally occupied its southern end in current arrangements.

Residential corner blocks

Flats built into/around the corners are one of Brisbane Road's most recognisable quirks; some residences overlook the pitch. They are a visible reminder of the redevelopment compromises made on a cramped London site.

Matchday arrangements can change. Check current club guidance and your ticket before travelling.

Atmosphere & acoustics

Burton Albion at Leyton Orient

The filled-in corners and small footprint help retain noise.

From the supporters

Supporter observation

Brisbane Road is another small ground that can really lift when it is packed. A big cup tie or high-interest fixture brings the crowd close to the action and creates a much more boisterous atmosphere than an ordinary league game.

Orient / O's name chants

Simple repeated 'Orient' and 'O's' chants dominate published chant catalogues more than a single universally defining anthem. Treat individual chant lyrics as changeable terrace culture rather than fixed club heritage.

Remembrance around the nearest home match to Armistice/Remembrance Sunday

Supporter interpretation

The Clapton Orient wartime story is actively commemorated rather than left in a history book, with supporter organisations maintaining memorial links in Leyton and on the Somme.

Supporters' Club before and after the match

The volunteer-run club at the ground is a long-standing social base and its real-ale reputation is part of the matchday texture.

Fanzines outside the ground

Independent print culture has survived at Orient unusually well into the digital era, turning the walk to the turnstiles into part of the club's archive.

Matchday arrangements can change. Check current club guidance and your ticket before travelling.

Food & drink

Burton Albion at Leyton Orient

Leyton is one of those grounds where choice is close but matchday pub rules matter more than distance. The official Leyton Orient Supporters Club is the clearest all-supporter option: away fans are normally admitted for £1, although big or police-sensitive fixtures can be restricted. Kapture is also named by visiting-club guidance as welcoming away fans, while CAMRA describes the Birkbeck Tavern as popular on Orient matchdays with both home and away followers.

Food and drink around the ground

By contrast, recent Orient and Charlton supporter reports describe the Coach & Horses and Leyton Engineer as home-fan pubs, so away visitors should not rely on them without checking. Food is easier than the pub picture: Leyton High Road has cafés and takeaways, the stadium has matchday concessions, and KERB Francis Road runs a Saturday street-food market from 10am–4pm.

Leyton station is under ten minutes from the ground on the club’s route; Leyton Midland Road is about 15 minutes, making Gravity Well a plausible rail-arrival stop, although its away-fan policy is unverified. Drivers should note there is no public stadium parking and immediate street parking is extremely limited.

Leyton Orient Supporters Club

The strongest near-ground option on the evidence. The Supporters Club says visitors, including away supporters, are welcome for a £1 entry fee, with CAMRA members admitted free. It is an established matchday bar in the West Stand and has a long-running real-ale reputation, but it can become very busy.

Admission can be restricted to members and guests for certain large or police-sensitive fixtures. For a normal 3pm home game the published pre-match opening is 12:00–14:30; evening-game hours are different.

Kapture

Kapture repeatedly appears in visiting-supporter guidance as an away-welcoming option. Doncaster Rovers' SLO guide gave it as a nine-minute walk from the stadium, while Cardiff City's own away guide also directed visiting fans there. Current public listings still show the bar and restaurant operating at 267 High Road.

Birkbeck Tavern

The Birkbeck is the clearest traditional-pub alternative to the Supporters Club and Kapture. CAMRA's current listing says it is very popular on Orient matchdays with both home and away fans, and a September 2026 Orient supporter thread still recommends it as an old-school pre-match pub.

Coach & Horses Leyton

The Coach is a genuine Orient matchday pub and is currently open, family friendly and serving Nepalese momo dishes alongside pub classics. However, recent local and visiting-supporter reports describe it as home-fans-only on matchdays, so it should not be presented to away supporters as a reliable entry option.

There is a material source conflict: a current independent away guide calls it away-welcoming, but newer supporter-origin reports say home-only and mention ticket checks. Until the pub or club publishes a clear policy, away supporters should treat it as unavailable.

The Leyton Engineer

The Leyton Engineer is a large, restored pub in the former town hall with a full British pub menu and child-friendly food options. Recent Orient supporter discussion calls it a home-fans pub on matchdays, and Charlton supporters reported the same during a 2025 away visit.

The venue itself does not publish a football-admission policy. The home-only classification is therefore supporter-reported rather than an official rule and should be checked if it is to be shown to away fans.

Gravity Well Taproom

Gravity Well is a current, family-welcoming taproom at 155 Midland Road with ten draught lines. A Bradford supporter reported using it on a previous Orient away trip, which makes it a credible supporter lead for arrivals at Leyton Midland Road, but there is no published away-fan or colours policy.

The official taproom page currently says food is 'coming soon', so do not treat it as a food stop. Away admission remains unverified.

William the Fourth

William the Fourth is a current Leyton matchday option with a unusually strong first-party football signal: the pub advertises 20% off food and drink before Leyton Orient matches for ticket holders. It also shows live sport and serves Short Road Pizza, with children welcome until 7pm.

The matchday ticket-holder offer does not state whether it applies equally to away tickets, and no current away-colours or away-admission policy was found.

KERB Francis Road

KERB now runs a regular Saturday market on Francis Road from 10am to 4pm with rotating street-food traders and local produce. It is useful specifically for Saturday fixtures, giving supporters a food-first alternative before heading towards the ground.

  • groups wanting more choice than one fixed menu
  • supporters who prefer street food to stadium catering

This is not a football-specific venue and trader line-ups rotate. It is not a solution for most midweek matches, and no football-colours policy is published.

BetWright Stadium concourse kiosks

For supporters who do not want to gamble on pub access, the stadium itself remains a practical fallback. Cardiff City's away guide says food and drink are available at the ground and the stadium is cashless; Doncaster Rovers' SLO guide gives a wider hot-food and snack range for visiting supporters.

Menus and prices can change by fixture and season. The evidence supports food and drink availability, but no current source found establishes a universal away-end alcohol offer, so that should not be assumed.

Accessibility

Burton Albion at Leyton Orient

Arrange accessible seating and parking before your visit through Leyton Orient and your own ticket office. The away allocation is in the East Stand, where step-free entry and designated wheelchair positions are available. Plymouth Argyle's February 2026 visiting guide confirms three bookable accessible parking spaces inside the ground, but they must be arranged with the home club beforehand.

Accessible journeys

Leyton Underground is not yet an established step-free route: TfL's station improvement works are scheduled to finish in spring 2027. Plan an alternative accessible journey with TfL rather than assume the new lifts are working. For visiting wheelchair tickets, companion arrangements, assistance dogs or parking, confirm details with Leyton Orient's disability liaison team.

Some older accessibility contacts and stand allocations differ from more recent visiting guidance, so reconfirm your booking instructions for the exact match.

Use Leyton on the Central line for the shortest walk to BetWright Stadium. Change at Stratford if you arrive on the Elizabeth, Jubilee or other mainline services; Leyton is one Central line stop away. From Leyton station, allow around ten minutes to reach the away end, following Leyton High Road and Buckingham Road. Leyton Midland Road is the alternative for supporters arriving on the London Overground Suffragette line.

Pre-match choices

Leyton/central-east London provides numerous options; local football-pub policies vary.

The pre-match experience

Supporter observation

Brisbane Road can work well even with very young children. One visiting family in 2025 reported a warm welcome when taking a baby and staff helped with pram storage; if you are bringing a pushchair yourself, contact the club first so you know what can be arranged for your fixture.

Pub admission, fan-zone, food and family arrangements can vary by fixture. Check current host-club or venue information where it affects your plans.

Supporter observation

A current Wycombe supporter guide highlights several pubs and the Leyton Orient supporters' club bar as possible visitor options, while explicitly advising supporters to re-check door policies.

Planning your arrival

Be at the stadium perimeter before the busiest turnstile period.

Rail, Underground & tram

It is about a 15-minute walk, following the High Road and turning into Osborne Road towards the East Stand. It is not on the same line as Stratford, so check your connection rather than assuming a direct train. Leyton Underground is being rebuilt for step-free access until spring 2027. Allow extra time for temporary platform crowding and station-entry queues, and check TfL's live accessibility and engineering information before leaving.

Recommended arrival station
Leyton Underground on the Central line; approximately ten minutes on foot to the ground.
Main interchange
Stratford: one Central line stop from Leyton; mainline, Elizabeth and Jubilee connections.
Alternative rail station
Leyton Midland Road on the London Overground Suffragette line; approx. 15-minute walk.

Use TfL journey planner for Central line/Suffragette line disruption and step-free routes.

Station to ground & away entrance

Follow your ticket to the southern section of the East Stand, the usual visiting-supporter area. The club's stadium plan puts the away turnstiles, numbered 7–12, on the Brisbane Road side. Arrive via Buckingham Road or Osborne Road and continue around to those turnstiles rather than joining the West Stand entrance on Oliver Road. From Leyton Underground, turn right onto Leyton High Road and walk towards Coronation Gardens.

Turn into Buckingham Road beside the gardens and continue to Brisbane Road, where the East Stand faces the street. From Leyton Midland Road, walk south along the High Road and turn into Osborne Road. If you need to collect an away ticket, check your visiting club's instructions. Matchday collections may be at the kiosk beside the home ticket office, which is not the same place as the away turnstiles.

Buses & local travel

The Central line is usually the easiest local transport, with Stratford only one stop from Leyton. You can meet the rest of your group at Stratford, travel together to Leyton and complete the final short walk rather than trying to find a parking space near the turnstiles. Buses 58, 69, 97 and 158 serve Leyton High Road and the Leyton station area.

They are useful if you are already in east London or want an alternative to the Tube, although a bus can take longer when nearby streets are busy. The 97 and 158 also connect Leyton with Stratford. There is no separate confirmed general away-supporter shuttle service. Check TfL's live journey planner for the exact stop, route and last useful connection on an evening fixture.

Parking

Burton Albion at Leyton Orient

Book an authorised space or use public transport; free street parking is not a reliable plan at Leyton Orient. The stadium has no public car park, and neighbouring streets have permit restrictions. For close parking, reserve an authorised private space for your fixture. For a straightforward public-car-park fallback, use Westfield Stratford City and take the Central line one stop to Leyton.

Parking & park-and-ride

Westfield has 24-hour entry and exit, with a published four-to-six-hour tariff of £11.50 at weekends and bank holidays or £9.50 on weekdays. Allow for the train and walk to the turnstiles. You may see suggestions for Sedgwick Road, Murchison Road or other streets across Leyton High Road. We could not confirm an unrestricted section for a full matchday stay.

The council has permit zones in Leyton, and named pay-by-phone bays on Osborne Road, Buckingham Road and Windsor Road are normally limited to three hours. Those bays cannot cover a normal football visit. JustPark and YourParkingSpace advertise privately authorised spaces in Leyton, including around the High Road and nearby residential developments. Prices change by fixture. Check the exact space, vehicle size and arrival and departure times before booking.

Allow at least four hours for the visit, and longer if you plan to eat or drink before kick-off. Fans report hit-and-miss street availability. Do not use Asda or Leyton Mills retail parking without express permission for the whole match visit. Restrictions vary by day and bay. Bank holidays suspend some permit enforcement, and a matchday order alters part of Brisbane Road; neither guarantees free parking.

If you arrive without a booking, head for authorised parking at Stratford rather than circling the ground.

Parking verdict
Booking is advisable if driving; use a legitimate reserved space or Westfield Stratford with the Central line. No confirmed dependable free street section within a practical walk.

Total dwell time
Allow at least four hours including arrival, both walks, football, stoppage time and departure; three-hour street bay maximum is insufficient.
Bank holiday exception
Council suspends permit bay enforcement on bank holidays; all other parking and moving-traffic contraventions continue.
After the match
Walk to Leyton/Central line or return to authorised remote parking; check Stratford parking exit and avoid busy ground-side residential streets.

Worth knowing

Burton Albion at Leyton Orient

For an away supporter, Orient is interesting because the ground still explains the club. You arrive in a normal East London neighbourhood, pass civic and football memorials, and enter a stadium whose different-aged stands and residential corners tell you why supporters are attached to Brisbane Road even while the club considers a larger future home.

Matchday features

Apartment-filled corners. Pillar caveat. Raised/ramped wheelchair platform

Bags and entry

Check current stadium policy.

A ground in the neighbourhood, not beside it

Brisbane Road is hemmed into Leyton streets and housing. That intimacy is part of the experience rather than an inconvenience to edit out.

The old East Stand

Current away sections are normally here; pillars can compromise some sightlines. The same stand also contains some of the club's deepest physical heritage.

Supporter institutions with real history

The Supporters' Club, Trust and surviving fanzine culture are not recent engagement exercises; they have roots stretching back decades and became especially consequential in the 2017 crisis.

The ground is still commonly 'Brisbane Road'

The 2026 commercial name is BetWright Stadium. The previous Gaughan Group naming is no longer current, while Brisbane Road remains the enduring geographical name used by supporters and even in current club address information.

Look for the Laurie Cunningham statue before entering

It stands in Coronation Gardens, close to the stadium, and is easy to miss if arriving only for the turnstile.

The East Stand carries layers of old Brisbane Road

Its age, pillars and the museum underneath make it the strongest surviving visual link to an earlier version of the ground.

Notice how close housing is to the football

The corner flats and residential streets are not scenery added around a new venue; they are part of the physical compromise that defines the site.

Club museum under the East Stand

In 2026 the club museum occupied old changing-room space beneath the East Stand, with traces including showers, bath and sauna from earlier eras. It is an unusually literal reuse of the ground's football archaeology.

Coronation Gardens

Immediately beside the ground, the gardens contain the Laurie Cunningham statue and a local memorial link to the Clapton Orient war story, extending club heritage beyond the turnstiles.

Trains

Rail, Underground & tram

Use Leyton on the Central line for the shortest walk to BetWright Stadium. Change at Stratford if you arrive on the Elizabeth, Jubilee or other mainline services; Leyton is one Central line stop away. From Leyton station, allow around ten minutes to reach the away end, following Leyton High Road and Buckingham Road.

Leyton Midland Road is the alternative for supporters arriving on the London Overground Suffragette line.

Away coaches

If you are travelling on an official away coach, follow the meeting and collection instructions issued by your own club or coach organiser. The ground is tightly surrounded by houses, so a parking point or road used for one fixture should not be assumed to be available for the next.

An official Leyton Orient stadium map marks a coach parking bay on Oliver Road, alongside the West Stand. That is evidence of a designated bay, not confirmation that every visiting coach may use it or remain there throughout the match. Ask the organiser where you will be dropped, which route to take to the East Stand and where you will meet after full-time.

Keep the return details handy: coaches may be held or moved under local steward or police instructions.

Accessibility

Accessible journeys

Arrange accessible seating and parking before your visit through Leyton Orient and your own ticket office. The away allocation is in the East Stand, where step-free entry and designated wheelchair positions are available. Plymouth Argyle's February 2026 visiting guide confirms three bookable accessible parking spaces inside the ground, but they must be arranged with the home club beforehand.

After the match

After the match

Head back to Leyton Underground if you are returning through Stratford or central London. It is only a short walk from the visiting East Stand, but the approaches can be busy and Leyton station works may trigger temporary queues. Leave a proper margin for any mainline connection at Stratford rather than assuming you can board the next train immediately.

For the Suffragette line, walk north along Leyton High Road towards Leyton Midland Road and check your departure before leaving the ground. This is a longer walk than Leyton Underground, but may suit the direction you are travelling.

If you drove, use the return route provided by your reserved parking operator. Westfield offers 24-hour exit, although car-park approaches and the Stratford road network may still be busy on event days. Arrange any coach collection point with your organiser in advance.

Return by Central line
Walk to Leyton; change at Stratford for mainline/other services.
Leyton station crowd warning
Platform hoardings and temporary queuing during station works until spring 2027; allow extra time.
Alternative return rail
Leyton Midland Road on Suffragette line, around 15 minutes on foot.
Remote car park exit
Westfield Stratford has 24-hour car-park entry and exit, subject to normal traffic and capacity controls.
Coach pick-up
Use visiting coach organiser instructions; exact collection point is fixture-dependent.

Where to stay

Stay in Stratford for the best balance of match access, transport and an evening out. Leyton is one stop away on the Central line, while Stratford has wider rail connections, restaurants and a much larger choice of hotels. It is particularly useful if you are arriving from outside London or want to avoid depending on a late cross-city journey.

Choose Leyton if getting back on foot after the game matters most. It is a residential neighbourhood with pubs and places to eat along the High Road, but there is less conventional hotel choice immediately beside Brisbane Road. A walkable room will need to be booked early for a busy fixture.

If your priority is independent bars and a longer night, Hackney Wick is another East London base. Check the onward connection or taxi journey before booking rather than treating it as a direct stadium walk.

Recommended overnight base
Stratford: one Central line stop from Leyton, substantial rail connections and town-centre amenities.
Walk-back alternative
Leyton near High Road/Coronation Gardens gives practical walking access to ground.
Stadium area character
Residential Leyton, not a large stadium-side hotel district.
Airport or mainline onward
Stratford interchange connects with Elizabeth, Jubilee, Overground, DLR and National Rail; check actual service for journey.

Matchday services and parking arrangements can change. Confirm current details before travelling.

PUB / BAR

Kapture

267 High Road Leyton, London E10 5QH
9 min walkAway fans welcomeFood available
BEST FORaway supporters wanting a clearly signposted pub option · groups wanting food as well as drinks · visitors who prefer a bar to a traditional football boozer
MATCHDAY INTELKapture repeatedly appears in visiting-supporter guidance as an away-welcoming option. Doncaster Rovers' SLO guide gave it as a nine-minute walk from the stadium, while Cardiff City's own away guide also directed visiting fans there. Current public listings still show the bar and restaurant operating at 267 High Road.
WORTH KNOWINGThe venue's own website was not fetchable during this research, so current opening status is corroborated through current public listings rather than a live official venue page. Away-colours policy is not published in the sources found.
PUB / BAR

Leyton Orient Supporters Club

BetWright Stadium, Oliver Road, Leyton, London E10 5NF
Usually away-friendlyFamily friendly
BEST FORaway fans wanting the clearest near-ground admission policy · real-ale drinkers · supporters who want a proper club-bar atmosphere
MATCHDAY INTELThe strongest near-ground option on the evidence. The Supporters Club says visitors, including away supporters, are welcome for a £1 entry fee, with CAMRA members admitted free. It is an established matchday bar in the West Stand and has a long-running real-ale reputation, but it can become very busy.
WORTH KNOWINGAdmission can be restricted to members and guests for certain large or police-sensitive fixtures. For a normal 3pm home game the published pre-match opening is 12:00–14:30; evening-game hours are different.
PUB / BAR

Birkbeck Tavern

45 Langthorne Road, Leytonstone, London E11 4HL
Usually away-friendlyFamily friendly
BEST FORaway fans who want a traditional pub · mixed home-and-away groups · supporters arriving via Leyton who do not need a polished bar
MATCHDAY INTELThe Birkbeck is the clearest traditional-pub alternative to the Supporters Club and Kapture. CAMRA's current listing says it is very popular on Orient matchdays with both home and away fans, and a September 2026 Orient supporter thread still recommends it as an old-school pre-match pub.
WORTH KNOWINGNo current source found states a guaranteed colours policy or fixture-by-fixture admission rule, so treat away access as usual rather than unconditional.
PUB / BAR

William the Fourth

816 High Road, Leyton, London E10 6AE
Away access: checkFamily friendlyFood available
BEST FORsupporters wanting food and live sport · families before early evening · matchgoers who do not need to be beside the stadium
MATCHDAY INTELWilliam the Fourth is a current Leyton matchday option with a unusually strong first-party football signal: the pub advertises 20% off food and drink before Leyton Orient matches for ticket holders. It also shows live sport and serves Short Road Pizza, with children welcome until 7pm.
WORTH KNOWINGThe matchday ticket-holder offer does not state whether it applies equally to away tickets, and no current away-colours or away-admission policy was found.
PUB / BAR

Gravity Well Taproom

155 Midland Road, London E10 6JT
Away access: checkFamily friendlyNo food
BEST FORsupporters arriving via Leyton Midland Road · craft-beer drinkers · smaller groups wanting a calmer pre-match base
MATCHDAY INTELGravity Well is a current, family-welcoming taproom at 155 Midland Road with ten draught lines. A Bradford supporter reported using it on a previous Orient away trip, which makes it a credible supporter lead for arrivals at Leyton Midland Road, but there is no published away-fan or colours policy.
WORTH KNOWINGThe official taproom page currently says food is 'coming soon', so do not treat it as a food stop. Away admission remains unverified.
PUB / BAR

Coach & Horses Leyton

391 High Road Leyton, London E10 5NA
Not for away fansFamily friendlyFood available
BEST FORLeyton Orient home supporters · families wanting a pub meal away from the turnstiles · supporters wanting Nepalese food and pub classics
MATCHDAY INTELThe Coach is a genuine Orient matchday pub and is currently open, family friendly and serving Nepalese momo dishes alongside pub classics. However, recent local and visiting-supporter reports describe it as home-fans-only on matchdays, so it should not be presented to away supporters as a reliable entry option.
WORTH KNOWINGThere is a material source conflict: a current independent away guide calls it away-welcoming, but newer supporter-origin reports say home-only and mention ticket checks. Until the pub or club publishes a clear policy, away supporters should treat it as unavailable.
PUB / BAR

The Leyton Engineer

265 High Road, Leyton, London E10 5QN
Not for away fansFamily friendlyFood available
BEST FORLeyton Orient home supporters · families wanting a sit-down meal · supporters wanting more space than a compact football pub
MATCHDAY INTELThe Leyton Engineer is a large, restored pub in the former town hall with a full British pub menu and child-friendly food options. Recent Orient supporter discussion calls it a home-fans pub on matchdays, and Charlton supporters reported the same during a 2025 away visit.
WORTH KNOWINGThe venue itself does not publish a football-admission policy. The home-only classification is therefore supporter-reported rather than an official rule and should be checked if it is to be shown to away fans.

Where it isBrisbane Road, Leyton, London E10 5NFView on map ↗

For supporters who do not want to gamble on pub access, the stadium itself remains a practical fallback. Cardiff City's away guide says food and drink are available at the ground and the stadium is cashless; Doncaster Rovers' SLO guide gives a wider hot-food and snack range for visiting supporters.

Away fans welcomeFood available
BEST FORsupporters who have already entered the stadium · hot food and snacks without another stop · away fans who want a low-risk food fallback
WORTH KNOWINGMenus and prices can change by fixture and season. The evidence supports food and drink availability, but no current source found establishes a universal away-end alcohol offer, so that should not be assumed.
FOOD

KERB Francis Road

Where it isFrancis Road, Leyton, London E10View on map ↗

KERB now runs a regular Saturday market on Francis Road from 10am to 4pm with rotating street-food traders and local produce. It is useful specifically for Saturday fixtures, giving supporters a food-first alternative before heading towards the ground.

Away access: checkFood available
BEST FORSaturday 3pm match food before the pub · groups wanting more choice than one fixed menu · supporters who prefer street food to stadium catering
WORTH KNOWINGThis is not a football-specific venue and trader line-ups rotate. It is not a solution for most midweek matches, and no football-colours policy is published.
