FIXTURE STORY

FOLLOW BLACKBURN ROVERS TO WEST HAM UNITED

This fixture is still months away, on 30 January. Today's table is useful background, but it is not a prediction of the positions either side will hold on matchday. If Blackburn Rovers are involved in the promotion picture by then, this could be an away result with real weight behind it.

Blackburn Rovers are 10th in the Championship after 11 league games, with 15 points. Before the season, they were seen as a side with survival to secure.

West Ham United are 2nd in the Championship after 11 league games, with 22 points. The pre-season outlook had them down as promotion favourites.

Blackburn Rovers's last five recorded league games brought three wins, one draw and one defeat: ten points from a possible fifteen. Recent results give West Ham United eleven points from a possible fifteen, with three wins and two draws in their last five league games. Those are results available now; the form heading into this fixture may be very different.

The destination is London Stadium in London. Work back from kick-off when deciding whether this is a day trip or a night away. Choose Stratford/Olympic Park if the match is the main event. It removes the need to cross London after the final whistle and leaves plenty of food and drink around Westfield, the park and nearby Hackney Wick. Choose Shoreditch only when the evening after the match matters enough to justify travelling back west; it has a deeper concentration of independent bars and restaurants while remaining straightforward from Stratford. Check the matchday travel arrangements again nearer the fixture.

Make the football the reason to go and give yourself enough time to enjoy it. Check the confirmed kick-off and ticket arrangements before committing to travel or a hotel, then choose the plan that lets you support Blackburn Rovers from the away end without rushing the whole day.

Table and form checked 22 October.

The Gantry London, Curio Collection by Hilton

The Gantry London, Curio Collection by Hilton

Stratford / East Village

The Gantry is the best all-round match hotel in this research: close enough to make London Stadium a straightforward walk, much more comfortable and full-service than the stadium-adjacent budget choices, and well placed for Stratford station, Westfield and Hackney Wick.

  • Stratford location keeps the football trip simple without isolating supporters at the stadium.
  • Hilton confirms three restaurants, lounges and a rooftop bar, so there is a credible fallback for food or a drink without another journey.
The match journey

Straight-line stadium-to-hotel distance is about 0.65 miles from published coordinates; pedestrian routing through the Olympic Park is longer. Allow roughly 15 minutes in normal conditions and extra time when event crowd-routing is in force.

The trade-off

It sits in the upper-mid/premium part of the Stratford market and some midweek dates are expensive.

WHY STAY HERE?

The Gantry London, Curio Collection by Hilton

Stratford / East Village

Our view

The Gantry is the best all-round match hotel in this research: close enough to make London Stadium a straightforward walk, much more comfortable and full-service than the stadium-adjacent budget choices, and well placed for Stratford station, Westfield and Hackney Wick. It is not cheap and weekday pricing can jump sharply, but its current review evidence is strong enough for MatchdayHotels to put its name behind the recommendation.

Why it suits this trip

  • Stratford location keeps the football trip simple without isolating supporters at the stadium.
  • Hilton confirms three restaurants, lounges and a rooftop bar, so there is a credible fallback for food or a drink without another journey.
  • Stratford station is about a five-minute walk according to the hotel, giving excellent London-wide connections.
  • Current Booking.com and Tripadvisor evidence is strong on cleanliness, comfort, location and overall quality.
  • Booking.com coverage is directly verified.

Getting to the ground

Straight-line stadium-to-hotel distance is about 0.65 miles from published coordinates; pedestrian routing through the Olympic Park is longer. Allow roughly 15 minutes in normal conditions and extra time when event crowd-routing is in force.

Pubs and the evening

Three in-house food/drink venues plus rooftop bar; Westfield and Hackney Wick broaden the choice. Good for a football weekend, but not as deep a late-night district as Shoreditch.

Arriving by train

The hotel states Stratford train station is about a five-minute walk; Stratford is the principal multi-line hub for the area.

The trade-offs

  • It sits in the upper-mid/premium part of the Stratford market and some midweek dates are expensive.
  • The East Village/Stratford evening is convenient rather than comparable with Shoreditch for depth of nightlife.
  • Recent aggregate review evidence includes occasional comments about noise, room issues, inconsistent service and value at high rates.

Research price context

Across the selected non-home-match sample, about £178–£332 midweek and £217–£249 at weekends. The weekend mean was slightly lower than the midweek mean, so a blanket Saturday premium would be misleading for this hotel.

Snoozebox Olympic Park

Snoozebox Olympic Park

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park / Pudding Mill Lane

Snoozebox is the closest practical football choice because it is genuinely inside the Olympic Park, beside Pudding Mill Lane DLR and described by the operator as right next to London Stadium. The bargain is space and finish: these are compact modular rooms built for short stays, not a conventional full-service hotel.

  • Official location material describes it as right next to London Stadium and a short stroll from the ground.
  • Pudding Mill Lane DLR is roughly one to two minutes away and Stratford is one stop.
The match journey

The straight-line distance from published coordinates is about 0.35 miles. Snoozebox itself calls the property 'right next to' London Stadium and a short stroll away. A fixed walking-minute claim is avoided because event-day pedestrian routing around the stadium can change.

The trade-off

Rooms are deliberately compact and the standard layout includes a double bed plus single bunk.

WHY STAY HERE?

Snoozebox Olympic Park

Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park / Pudding Mill Lane

Our view

Snoozebox is the closest practical football choice because it is genuinely inside the Olympic Park, beside Pudding Mill Lane DLR and described by the operator as right next to London Stadium. The bargain is space and finish: these are compact modular rooms built for short stays, not a conventional full-service hotel. It works very well when bed-after-the-match convenience matters most, but it should not be sold as the best all-round stay.

Why it suits this trip

  • Official location material describes it as right next to London Stadium and a short stroll from the ground.
  • Pudding Mill Lane DLR is roughly one to two minutes away and Stratford is one stop.
  • Booking.com location and staff scores are strong for a budget/event stay.
  • Rates are often dramatically cheaper than the full-service Stratford hotels on ordinary midweek nights.
  • Booking.com coverage is directly verified.

Getting to the ground

The straight-line distance from published coordinates is about 0.35 miles. Snoozebox itself calls the property 'right next to' London Stadium and a short stroll away. A fixed walking-minute claim is avoided because event-day pedestrian routing around the stadium can change.

Pubs and the evening

Snoozebox has social space, food/drink and DJ after-parties on selected nights, but the wider doorstep is sparse. Stratford, Hackney Wick and Westfield offer substantially more choice.

Arriving by train

Official material places the DLR station about one to two minutes from the property; it is one stop from Stratford.

The trade-offs

  • Rooms are deliberately compact and the standard layout includes a double bed plus single bunk.
  • The immediate Pudding Mill Lane area has much less conventional restaurant/pub choice than central Stratford, Westfield or Shoreditch.
  • Weekend/event demand pushes rates up sharply relative to the sampled midweeks.
  • A very recent Tripadvisor review reported shower odour, cold water, excessive heat and awkward bunk access, so current maintenance consistency should be watched.

Research price context

Typically about £78–£92 on the sampled midweeks, rising to roughly £152–£162 on the sampled Saturdays. That is a pronounced event/leisure weekend premium.

The Hoxton, Shoreditch

The Hoxton, Shoreditch

Shoreditch / Hoxton

For supporters who want the night after the match to be part of the trip, The Hoxton is a stronger base than a stadium-area hotel. It sits in the middle of Shoreditch's bar and restaurant scene, has lively food/drink spaces of its own, and current review evidence is strong.

  • Shoreditch/Hoxton has a much deeper concentration of bars, restaurants and late-night venues than the immediate stadium area.
  • The hotel itself is designed around social space, food and drink, so it works even if plans stay close to the room.
The match journey

Straight-line distance is about 3 miles. Treat this as a rail-based nightlife choice, not a walking hotel: travel from Stratford towards Liverpool Street/central east London, then continue to the hotel on foot.

The trade-off

Not walkable in practical matchday terms from London Stadium.

WHY STAY HERE?

The Hoxton, Shoreditch

Shoreditch / Hoxton

Our view

For supporters who want the night after the match to be part of the trip, The Hoxton is a stronger base than a stadium-area hotel. It sits in the middle of Shoreditch's bar and restaurant scene, has lively food/drink spaces of its own, and current review evidence is strong. The cost and post-match journey are the trade: this is a premium choice, not the sensible option for someone whose only priority is getting back from London Stadium quickly.

Why it suits this trip

  • Shoreditch/Hoxton has a much deeper concentration of bars, restaurants and late-night venues than the immediate stadium area.
  • The hotel itself is designed around social space, food and drink, so it works even if plans stay close to the room.
  • The hotel states Liverpool Street is about a ten-minute walk and Old Street about three minutes.
  • Booking.com and Tripadvisor both show strong current ratings for location, cleanliness, atmosphere and service.
  • Booking.com coverage is directly verified.

Getting to the ground

Straight-line distance is about 3 miles. Treat this as a rail-based nightlife choice, not a walking hotel: travel from Stratford towards Liverpool Street/central east London, then continue to the hotel on foot.

Pubs and the evening

Visit London's September 2026 area guide highlights Shoreditch and Hoxton for food, markets, bars and late-night experiences. The hotel also has its own restaurant/bar scene.

Arriving by train

The hotel states Liverpool Street is about a ten-minute walk and Old Street about three minutes. Stratford has direct rail/Tube links into this side of central London, making the post-match transfer practical even though it is not stadium-adjacent.

The trade-offs

  • Not walkable in practical matchday terms from London Stadium.
  • Premium pricing, with very large date-to-date swings.
  • Some reviews mention small rooms and occasional noise; this is a lively hotel in a lively district.
  • Post-match rail and station queues at Stratford can add time beyond the nominal journey.

Research price context

The sampled midweeks ranged from about £208 to £439 and Saturdays from about £235 to £359. Averages were similar, showing that date-specific London demand matters more here than a simple weekend premium.

What to expect at West Ham United

All the key information for Blackburn Rovers supporters heading to London Stadium — from the ground and atmosphere to food, access, parking and matchday practicalities.

YOUR AWAY DAY · London Stadium

The ground

Blackburn Rovers at West Ham United

The large bowl retains its athletics geometry despite seating brought closer for football. Behind-goal tiers are visibly split. Noise can feel spread out at ordinary matches, while European and derby occasions have shown what the larger crowd can produce.

Recorded capacity
62,500

Views from the away section

Sightlines are unobstructed but the distance from pitch is a real trade-off, especially in lower/shallow rows.

Supporter observation

Visiting supporters describe excellent facilities but mixed/poor views from the back of the upper away tier, with the split-tier layout feeling detached for some.

Why the ground matters

The Boleyn's streets, terraces and nearby businesses became part of generations' routines. London Stadium offered greater capacity and modern facilities in a former Olympic venue. Distance from the pitch and the use of the space have remained important in supporters' arguments over the move.

Matchday arrangements can change. Check current club guidance and your ticket before travelling.

YOUR AWAY DAY · London Stadium

Atmosphere & acoustics

Blackburn Rovers at West Ham United

Large crowds can be loud, though the bowl's scale disperses noise differently from tighter grounds.

From the supporters

Supporter observation

The London Stadium can feel very different depending on the occasion. Its size means it lacks some of Upton Park's old closeness, but when the crowd is fully engaged—especially for a big night—the noise can build impressively around the bowl.

I'm Forever Blowing Bubbles

The club anthem, sung before matches and inseparable from the public image of West Ham. Its exact origin at the club remains contested.

Come on you Irons

A short terrace call that preserves the industrial nickname in everyday matchgoing language.

Bubbles before kick-off

The anthem and bubble imagery are part of the modern home-match presentation, carrying an old song into a very different stadium.

Remembering at the old ground

Families still use the Memorial Garden at the former Boleyn site, so remembrance rituals remain geographically tied to Green Street even after the first team moved.

Matchday arrangements can change. Check current club guidance and your ticket before travelling.

YOUR AWAY DAY · London Stadium

Food & drink

Blackburn Rovers at West Ham United

West Ham is an away day where the sensible pub is often before Stratford, not beside the stadium. Visiting supporters use Turnstile D in the Sir Trevor Brooking Stand and are encouraged over Bridge 4; Stratford is about a 20-minute walk, while Hackney Wick is also about 20 minutes and has the better food cluster. If your rail route comes through Liverpool Street, Hamilton Hall remains the best-supported traditional away meeting point.

Food and drink around the ground

In Stratford, Abbey Tap has current evidence of mixed home-and-away use, while Bat & Ball was reported usable by away fans without colours; neither publishes a blanket football policy. Hackney Wick is stronger for food and craft beer: Howling Hops, Beer Merchants Tap, Barge East, Hackney Bridge and Wicked Fish are all current. The old Sportsman away-pub recommendation is now stale because it closed in September 2026, and Riverside East is explicitly West Ham-only.

London Stadium is cashless, post-match segregation is dynamic, and high-risk fixtures can change pub and walking arrangements.

Hamilton Hall

Hamilton Hall remains one of the most consistently cited staging points for visiting supporters heading to West Ham.

  • groups wanting food and drink before travelling on to Stratford

This is a city-centre staging option rather than a near-stadium pub. The venue’s current information says under-18s are admitted only between 08:00 and 18:00, so families should check the timing of their visit.

Abbey Tap

Abbey Tap is one of the stronger Stratford candidates because current pub records confirm food and family facilities, while a July 2026 football guide describes it as attracting a mix of home and away supporters. That makes it more useful than assuming every pub immediately around London Stadium is away-friendly.

  • supporters wanting a pub meal in Stratford
  • mixed groups looking for a straightforward sports-pub option

A current guide gives an approximate 15-minute walk to London Stadium. No current official colours policy was found, so away supporters should still check admission arrangements for the specific fixture.

The Cow

The Cow is a current Westfield pub that actively promotes West Ham matchdays and serves a full food menu. It is clearly home-supporter oriented, although some current away-day guides include it among nearby possibilities. Westfield admission for visiting supporters can vary by fixture, so it should not be presented as a guaranteed away pub.

The venue says it does not take reservations for West Ham home games and recommends arriving early. Current visiting-supporter guidance for Westfield says admission and colours can be decided by venue managers on the day, especially for higher-risk fixtures.

Tap East

Tap East remains a live and well-established Westfield option. Very recent Crystal Palace away guidance still names it before West Ham, and current pub records say it gets busy on matchdays. It is one of the more credible Stratford leads for visiting supporters, but admission and colours should still be treated as fixture-dependent rather than guaranteed.

There is a current food-information conflict: Westfield’s listing says traditional pub food is available, while CAMRA’s 2026 record says no food. Editors should verify food service directly before publishing it as a meal stop.

Carpenters Arms

The Carpenters Arms remains one of the clearest home-supporter pubs around Stratford. Current football-guide coverage describes it as a West Ham stronghold, while a September 2026 West Ham supporter discussion points to the Carpenters for a busy, song-heavy pre-match atmosphere.

CRATE Brewery

CRATE is repeatedly used as a Hackney Wick pre-match stop. Current Nottingham Forest supporter guidance says their fans drank there on their last two West Ham trips and highlights the outdoor space and pizza. Its current official site confirms the brewery bar and kitchen remain open.

Where it is
The White Building, Unit 7 Queens Yard, White Post Lane, Hackney Wick, London E9 5EN
Away access
Usually accepts away supporters
  • away supporters using Hackney Wick
  • groups wanting pizza with craft beer
  • supporters preferring an independent pre-match venue

There is an important historic policy conflict. In 2016 CRATE publicly restricted away fans and football colours around West Ham games, while recent visiting-supporter evidence shows away fans using the venue again. No current formal matchday colours policy was found, so this needs checking for the specific fixture.

Howling Hops Tank Bar

Howling Hops is a current Hackney Wick brewery taproom with food and strong supporter-led matchday signals. An Arsenal away-supporter discussion in May 2026 recommended it specifically before West Ham, while current home-supporter discussion also places Hackney Wick among the better areas for food and craft beer.

  • supporters choosing Hackney Wick before the match
  • groups wanting food alongside beer

No current venue-published policy on away supporters or football colours was found. The supporter evidence shows it is used in an away-day context, but that is not enough to guarantee admission for every fixture.

Hackney Bridge

Hackney Bridge is a useful food-first alternative to a conventional pub. Its current site lists a range of food traders and bars, while recent football guides include it in the Hackney Wick matchday cluster. A 2026 pub-community report found plenty of West Ham supporters there on a home-match morning.

Riverside East West Ham Fanzone

Riverside East runs a dedicated West Ham matchday fan zone beside London Stadium with street food, beer and a family-friendly setup. Its own current guidance is explicit that the fan zone is for West Ham supporters only and that a match ticket is required.

London Stadium concourse food and drink

For visiting supporters who do not want to gamble on pub admission, the stadium itself is the most reliable fallback. West Ham's visiting-supporter guide confirms food and drink outlets inside the stadium and a dedicated away-supporter entrance and section.

Accessibility

Blackburn Rovers at West Ham United

Arrange accessible parking or the club’s shuttle before travelling, rather than relying on an ordinary car park near the stadium. West Ham allocates a small number of Blue Badge spaces to visiting supporters; the club’s accessibility team handles requests. The complimentary accessible shuttle runs from Stratford’s Jubilee line Platform 13 entrance and Stratford International’s International Way bus station.

Accessible journeys

It begins two hours before kick-off, drops supporters at the Stadium Store café and requires a permit; this is not the visiting turnstile itself. Bridge 4 has an accessible search lane, and Turnstile D has an accessible entrance. Return shuttles can only start once road closures ease, generally around half an hour after full-time. Confirm the precise Blue Badge parking entrance with the club because official site descriptions disagree about its position.

YOUR AWAY DAY · London Stadium

Before the match

Blackburn Rovers at West Ham United

Use Stratford if you are arriving by mainline train, Tube or Elizabeth line. It has the widest choice of connections, but allow around 20 minutes to reach London Stadium and longer when stewards manage the crowds. For the away end, Pudding Mill Lane on the DLR is the neater final stop. Follow the signed route towards Bridge 4 and Turnstile D, about a ten-minute walk from the station. The DLR also makes it a useful alternative to returning through busy Stratford.

Hamilton Hall

Hamilton Hall remains one of the most consistently cited staging points for visiting supporters heading to West Ham.

Where it is
Liverpool Street Station, Street-level Concourse, City of London, London EC2M 7PY
Away access
Usually accepts away supporters
Football colours
Colours policy not confirmed
  • away supporters arriving via Liverpool Street
  • groups wanting food and drink before travelling on to Stratford

This is a city-centre staging option rather than a near-stadium pub. The venue’s current information says under-18s are admitted only between 08:00 and 18:00, so families should check the timing of their visit.

Abbey Tap

Abbey Tap is one of the stronger Stratford candidates because current pub records confirm food and family facilities, while a July 2026 football guide describes it as attracting a mix of home and away supporters. That makes it more useful than assuming every pub immediately around London Stadium is away-friendly.

Where it is

Walk to the ground
Around 15 minutes
Away access
Usually accepts away supporters
Families
Family-friendly guidance recorded; check any matchday restrictions

  • supporters wanting a meal before the match

The venue says it does not take reservations for West Ham home games and recommends arriving early. Current visiting-supporter guidance for Westfield says admission and colours can be decided by venue managers on the day, especially for higher-risk fixtures.

Tap East

Tap East remains a live and well-established Westfield option. Very recent Crystal Palace away guidance still names it before West Ham, and current pub records say it gets busy on matchdays. It is one of the more credible Stratford leads for visiting supporters, but admission and colours should still be treated as fixture-dependent rather than guaranteed.

  • beer-focused pre-match groups

No current venue-published policy on away supporters or football colours was found. The supporter evidence shows it is used in an away-day context, but that is not enough to guarantee admission for every fixture.

Riverside East West Ham Fanzone

Riverside East runs a dedicated West Ham matchday fan zone beside London Stadium with street food, beer and a family-friendly setup. Its own current guidance is explicit that the fan zone is for West Ham supporters only and that a match ticket is required.

Planning your arrival

Allow for Olympic Park routing and the long stadium perimeter.

Rail, Underground & tram

Stratford International is another practical arrival point, particularly from St Pancras, with roughly a 20-minute stadium walk. Hackney Wick serves Overground travellers, but its usual route uses Bridge 3, so check the stewarded route to the visiting entrance.

Main rail interchange
Stratford: Central, Jubilee, Elizabeth line, DLR, Overground and National Rail; about 20 minutes to stadium
Best final station for visiting entrance
Pudding Mill Lane DLR; stadium walk approximately 10 minutes via Bridge 4
Alternative station
Stratford International: DLR and Southeastern; approximately 20 minutes to stadium
Hackney Wick approach
London Overground, approximately 20 minutes to stadium; signed route normally approaches Bridge 3, away entrance is Bridge 4
Stratford High Street
DLR station; approximately 20 minutes to stadium; Bridge 5 is usual stadium route
West Ham station caution
West Ham United advises avoiding West Ham station because of matchday crowding; prefer direct connections to Stratford

Station to ground & away entrance

Go to Turnstile D for the visiting section, using Bridge 4 on the south side of London Stadium. Pudding Mill Lane is the most straightforward station for this entrance; from Stratford, follow the matchday signs rather than an ordinary walking-map shortcut. Bridge security checks happen before you reach the turnstiles, so aim to be at the stadium at least an hour before kick-off.

There is a dedicated visiting-supporter information point opposite Turnstile D, and your ticket remains the final authority for your entrance. For the return, stewards may hold or divert pedestrians to keep the two sets of supporters apart. Do not assume you can retrace the same path towards Westfield immediately after the match.

Buses & local travel

For most supporters, take a train or DLR service to Stratford or Pudding Mill Lane rather than a bus right up to the stadium. Stratford Bus Station and Stratford City Bus Station serve numerous routes, but matchday closures can change the final stop or walking approach. Buses 388, 308, 339 and 108 serve parts of Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park or its edges.

Check the live TfL journey planner before travelling, particularly for evening kick-offs when normal traffic and the football crowd overlap. West Ham also runs a complimentary accessible shuttle from Stratford and Stratford International for supporters with access needs. It requires an advance permit from the club and is not a general matchday shuttle.

Parking

Blackburn Rovers at West Ham United

Do not plan on free on-street parking for a West Ham match. Stratford’s event-day permit zones run until 9pm, and Hackney extends controls around the Olympic Park. You might find a legal paid bay, but an unrestricted street within an easy walk of the away turnstiles could not be established. Westfield Stratford City is the simplest parking choice for most drivers. It has three public car parks open around the clock, and the club directs visiting motorists there.

Parking & park-and-ride

Allow a walk through the Olympic Park towards Bridge 4 rather than assuming the nearest stadium entrance is the away entrance. For a four-to-six-hour visit, Westfield currently lists £9.50 on weekdays or £11.50 at weekends and bank holidays. Arrive early: spaces can fill, temporary entry closures apply, and older supporter accounts describe lengthy queues when leaving after full-time.

Newham’s Stratford Multi-Storey off Great Eastern Road is a sensible paid fallback with 430 spaces and a published £15 event-day rate. It stays open 24 hours, but adds a longer walk through Stratford. Neither car park promises an instant departure after the match. Allow around five or six hours from parking to leaving, especially if you want food before kick-off.

Do not leave a car at the Aquatics Centre, Copper Box or another venue-only car park unless you are actually using that venue. Ordinary supermarket parking has no verified football-use permission or long-stay terms.

Drive to a public car park in Stratford, not to London Stadium itself. Westfield Stratford City and Newham’s Stratford Multi-Storey have published entry arrangements, while the stadium has no ordinary supporter parking. For Westfield, follow the route for your chosen car park: the operator recommends the A12 for Car Park A and the A112 via Penny Brookes Street for Car Park C.

Car Park B has restricted matchday access, so do not simply follow a sat-nav route to the stadium. Closures normally start three hours before kick-off and can continue for around two hours afterwards. They affect streets including Marshgate Lane, Carpenters Road, Pool Street, Sidings Street and parts of Westfield Avenue or Montfichet Road. Check the day’s signs before setting off.

Worth knowing

Blackburn Rovers at West Ham United

The scale and split tiers are immediate features for visitors. Bubbles, named stands, statues and crossed hammers introduce West Ham within the converted Olympic venue. Home supporters continue to compare those experiences with the close streets and terraces of the Boleyn.

You are not walking into Upton Park 2.0

The pitch-to-seat distance and Olympic-bowl geometry are the first big visual difference from the old West Ham image.

Away fans are split vertically

The south-west Sir Trevor Brooking area uses upper and lower tiers, which many visiting accounts say makes coordinated noise harder.

West Ham heritage has been deliberately overlaid on a non-West-Ham building

Stand names and the European Champions statue do a lot of the identity work.

Parking

Where to leave the car for West Ham United.

Matchday advice: Do not plan on free on-street parking for a West Ham match. Stratford’s event-day permit zones run until 9pm, and Hackney extends controls around the Olympic Park.

Trains

Rail, Underground & tram

Use Stratford if you are arriving by mainline train, Tube or Elizabeth line. It has the widest choice of connections, but allow around 20 minutes to reach London Stadium and longer when stewards manage the crowds.

For the away end, Pudding Mill Lane on the DLR is the neater final stop. Follow the signed route towards Bridge 4 and Turnstile D, about a ten-minute walk from the station. The DLR also makes it a useful alternative to returning through busy Stratford.

Stratford International is another practical arrival point, particularly from St Pancras, with roughly a 20-minute stadium walk. Hackney Wick serves Overground travellers, but its usual route uses Bridge 3, so check the stewarded route to the visiting entrance.

Coaches

Away coaches

If you are on your visiting club’s official coach, use its confirmed drop-off and collection instructions rather than a general stadium postcode. West Ham requires the visiting club to register its coaches at least three days before the match and arranges parking through its supporter liaison team.

Older visiting-club guides describe a coach park by the Pudding Mill Lane approach, with a stewarded return from Bridge 4. That is useful orientation, but it does not establish where your particular coach will wait for the next fixture.

Independent coaches cannot assume they can park at London Stadium. Westfield Stratford City advertises a separate ten-space coach facility requiring advance booking; confirm access, passenger set-down and collection directly with the operator.

Buses

Accessibility

Accessible journeys

Arrange accessible parking or the club’s shuttle before travelling, rather than relying on an ordinary car park near the stadium. West Ham allocates a small number of Blue Badge spaces to visiting supporters; the club’s accessibility team handles requests.

The complimentary accessible shuttle runs from Stratford’s Jubilee line Platform 13 entrance and Stratford International’s International Way bus station.

After the match

After the match

Expect a managed walk away from Turnstile D rather than an unrestricted route back through the Olympic Park. Stewards separate visiting and home supporters, and the usual short path to Stratford may become a much longer diversion after the whistle.

If your return is on the DLR, follow signs for Pudding Mill Lane where permitted. If you need Stratford or Stratford International for your train, leave a generous connection margin: London Stadium warns that the pedestrian route to Stratford can take up to 80 minutes after major events.

Driving does not guarantee a quick getaway. Westfield’s car parks stay open, but surrounding closures and pedestrian flows can delay departure. Accessible shuttle users should expect buses to wait until the roads reopen.

Away supporters segregation

Stratford return warning
London Stadium warns that the post-event pedestrian route to Stratford Regional Station may take up to 80 minutes
DLR alternative
Pudding Mill Lane is approximately ten minutes from stadium via Bridge 4 under ordinary routing; follow post-match steward instructions

Westfield parking remains open, but matchday road controls may affect exit until approximately two hours after final whistle
Accessibility return shuttle
Departure after road reopening normally around 30 minutes after full-time, up to 90-minute return operating window

Where to stay

Stay in Stratford if the match is the main reason for your trip. Hotels around Stratford Station or Westfield put you within a walk of London Stadium and leave several rail and Tube routes available after full-time.

Stratford International is a useful alternative for anyone arriving from St Pancras or preferring to park at the northern side of Stratford. Allow for a lengthy return walk after the match, particularly if your hotel sits beyond the station.

Hackney Wick suits an evening around the Olympic Park’s western edge, but its usual Bridge 3 stadium approach is not the designated visiting entrance. Choose a central London base only if the wider evening matters enough to justify travelling back across the city.

PUB / BAR

Hamilton Hall

Liverpool Street Station, Street-level Concourse, City of London, London EC2M 7PY
Usually away-friendlyFamily: checkFood available
BEST FORaway supporters arriving via Liverpool Street · groups wanting food and drink before travelling on to Stratford
MATCHDAY INTELHamilton Hall remains one of the most consistently cited staging points for visiting supporters heading to West Ham.
WORTH KNOWINGThis is a city-centre staging option rather than a near-stadium pub. The venue’s current information says under-18s are admitted only between 08:00 and 18:00, so families should check the timing of their visit.
PUB / BAR

The Abbey Tap

12-14 The Broadway, Stratford, London, E15 4QS
15 min walkAway access: check
BEST FORStratford arrivals · mixed groups · supporters wanting food and sport before the walk
MATCHDAY INTELThe strongest current Stratford pub lead. A July 2026 ground guide describes a mix of home and away fans, while Charlton supporters in August also reported mixed use on non-derby fixtures.
WORTH KNOWINGNo house football or colours policy was found. The recent mixed-supporter evidence specifically carried a non-London-derby caveat, so high-risk games need a fresh check.
PUB / BAR

CRATE Brewery

The White Building, Unit 7 Queens Yard, White Post Lane, Hackney Wick, London E9 5EN
Usually away-friendlyFood availableColours: check
BEST FORaway supporters using Hackney Wick · groups wanting pizza with craft beer · supporters preferring an independent pre-match venue
MATCHDAY INTELCRATE is repeatedly used as a Hackney Wick pre-match stop. Current Nottingham Forest supporter guidance says their fans drank there on their last two West Ham trips and highlights the outdoor space and pizza. Its current official site confirms the brewery bar and kitchen remain open.
WORTH KNOWINGThere is an important historic policy conflict. In 2016 CRATE publicly restricted away fans and football colours around West Ham games, while recent visiting-supporter evidence shows away fans using the venue again. No current formal matchday colours policy was found, so this needs checking for the specific fixture.
PUB / BAR

The Cow

4 Chestnut Plaza, Montfichet Road, Stratford, London E20 1GL
12 min walkAway access: fixture dependentFamily: checkFood availableColours: check
BEST FORhome supporters wanting a pub close to Stratford · supporters wanting a meal before the match
MATCHDAY INTELThe Cow is a current Westfield pub that actively promotes West Ham matchdays and serves a full food menu. It is clearly home-supporter oriented, although some current away-day guides include it among nearby possibilities. Westfield admission for visiting supporters can vary by fixture, so it should not be presented as a guaranteed away pub.
WORTH KNOWINGThe venue says it does not take reservations for West Ham home games and recommends arriving early. Current visiting-supporter guidance for Westfield says admission and colours can be decided by venue managers on the day, especially for higher-risk fixtures.
PUB / BAR

Tap East

7 International Square, Westfield Stratford City, Montfichet Road, London E20 1EE
15 min walkAway access: fixture dependentFamily friendlyColours: check
BEST FORsupporters arriving at Stratford International · beer-focused pre-match groups
MATCHDAY INTELTap East remains a live and well-established Westfield option. Very recent Crystal Palace away guidance still names it before West Ham, and current pub records say it gets busy on matchdays. It is one of the more credible Stratford leads for visiting supporters, but admission and colours should still be treated as fixture-dependent rather than guaranteed.
WORTH KNOWINGThere is a current food-information conflict: Westfield’s listing says traditional pub food is available, while CAMRA’s 2026 record says no food. Editors should verify food service directly before publishing it as a meal stop.
PUB / BAR

Howling Hops Tank Bar

Unit 9A Queens Yard, White Post Lane, Hackney Wick, London E9 5EN
Away access: checkFood available
BEST FORcraft-beer drinkers · supporters choosing Hackney Wick before the match · groups wanting food alongside beer
MATCHDAY INTELHowling Hops is a current Hackney Wick brewery taproom with food and strong supporter-led matchday signals. An Arsenal away-supporter discussion in May 2026 recommended it specifically before West Ham, while current home-supporter discussion also places Hackney Wick among the better areas for food and craft beer.
WORTH KNOWINGNo current venue-published policy on away supporters or football colours was found. The supporter evidence shows it is used in an away-day context, but that is not enough to guarantee admission for every fixture.
PUB / BAR

Carpenters Arms

Carpenters Road, Stratford, London E15 2JH
15 min walkAway access: checkColours: check
BEST FORhome supporters looking for a traditional pre-match atmosphere · visitors who specifically want to experience a strongly West Ham-oriented pub
MATCHDAY INTELThe Carpenters Arms remains one of the clearest home-supporter pubs around Stratford. Current football-guide coverage describes it as a West Ham stronghold, while a September 2026 West Ham supporter discussion points to the Carpenters for a busy, song-heavy pre-match atmosphere.
WORTH KNOWINGThere is no current formal away-supporter or colours policy in the evidence found. Because multiple current sources emphasise its West Ham identity, visiting supporters should not assume admission in away colours.
PUB / BAR

BEST FORlate arrivals · supporters avoiding pub access issues · a simple food-and-drink fallback inside
MATCHDAY INTELThe reliable fallback once you are through Turnstile D. London Stadium is cashless, food outlets change regularly, and the current early-bird offer includes a hot dog with a cold beer; Dino’s remains the official hot-dog supplier.
WORTH KNOWINGThe £10.95 deal is stadium-wide information, not a promise that every away kiosk carries it. West Ham says concession offers can change and publishes match-specific guidance.
PUB / BAR

Beer Merchants Tap

99 Wallis Road, Hackney Wick, London, E9 5LN
20 min walkAway access: check
BEST FORbeer choice · small away groups · supporters wanting snacks rather than a full sit-down meal

PUB / BAR

Bat & Ball Stratford

Westfield Stratford City, Montfichet Road, Stratford, London, E20 1EJ
20 min walkAway access: check
BEST FORStratford arrivals · groups wanting food and screens · supporters prepared to keep colours covered
MATCHDAY INTELA practical Westfield option when you want food and screens close to Stratford. In August 2026 a Charlton supporter reported that away fans were fine there, but specifically added the condition of no colours.
WORTH KNOWINGTreat the no-colours advice as supporter evidence, not a permanent house rule. Westfield admission can change by fixture and high-risk games are the obvious risk.
PUB / BAR

Howling Hops Brewery & Tank Bar

Queens Yard, White Post Lane, Hackney Wick, London, E9 5EN
20 min walkAway access: check
BEST FORcraft beer · a proper meal in Hackney Wick · supporters avoiding the Westfield pub cluster
MATCHDAY INTELThe best-supported Hackney Wick beer-and-food lead from recent away evidence. Arsenal supporters recommended Howling Hops before West Ham in May 2026; the tank bar now pairs its beers with La Cumbia’s Latin-fusion kitchen.
WORTH KNOWINGAway use is supporter-reported, not guaranteed, and no colours policy was found. Hackney Wick gets very busy, so leave time for the Bridge 4 away route.
