Research checked 2026-10-16Use Oxford railway station for the Kassam Stadium. The ground is about five miles away, so take a direct bus towards Grenoble Road rather than planning to walk.
Plan a stay at Oxford United ↗Head for the North Stand away entrance. If you are driving, follow the signs from the main stadium entrance to car park B1, then walk towards the North Stand's marked away turnstiles and ticket office. Your match ticket and the stewards' directions are the final guide to the correct block and gate. From the stadium-side Grenoble Road bus stop, follow the pedestrian route around the ground to the North Stand rather than trying to cut through restricted parking areas. A security gate often separates the west and east sides of the North Stand after games, so arriving on the B1 side avoids an awkward walk back to your car.
Visiting Supporters Guide 2026/27 ↗If you have parked at the stadium, expect patience to be more useful than a sprint to your car. Oxford United warns that the limited access road can produce long exit queues, and supporters have reported substantial waits after full-time. Leave room in your plans for that delay rather than relying on an immediate getaway. From the North Stand, return to your B1-side parking rather than trying to cross the security gate towards the east car parks. For buses back towards Oxford, the club directs normal service passengers to the stadium-side Grenoble Road layby, while football-special services collect from their managed Guelder Road position. Check the last bus and onward train for evening matches, and follow any new traffic directions introduced from late October 2026.
Visiting Supporters Guide 2026/27 ↗For a football-first overnight stay, the Hampton by Hilton beside the Kassam is the easiest base. You can walk to the game without arranging another journey, although the surrounding Ozone leisure area is not Oxford's best place for an evening out.

Compare the stay areas →Use Oxford railway station for the Kassam Stadium. The ground is about five miles away, so take a direct bus towards Grenoble Road rather than planning to walk. The 3A and 600 serve the stadium corridor, while the City5 and Stagecoach 1 stop at Sandy Lane West, leaving a further walk.
If your train arrives at Oxford Parkway, Oxford United advises changing onto a train for Oxford station before continuing. This is not the easiest ground for a tight rail connection after an evening match, so check the return bus and train times before travelling. Oxford station has step-free access to all platforms, but check live lift information on the day.

The 3A is the easiest scheduled bus to understand from central Oxford. Board near Westgate or in the High Street and alight on Grenoble Road by the stadium. Service 600 also links Oxford railway station and Redbridge Park & Ride with the Kassam, but check the operator's latest timetable, especially for evening and Sunday games.
Football specials OX1–OX5, OX7 and OX8 serve different parts of Oxfordshire on home league matchdays, including Abingdon, Didcot, Witney, Bicester and Kidlington. They use designated stadium-side stops, with separate post-match collection arrangements, so check your exact return boarding point. Regular buses do not automatically wait for the match to finish.
If your visiting club runs official coaches, use the club's instructions rather than arranging an independent drop-off. Oxford United directs visiting coaches and minibuses into car park B1 through the main stadium entrance. Stewards allocate the parking area, with the away North Stand turnstiles a short approach away.
Coaches generally remain in the designated area and receive a managed escort out after the match, shortly after the final whistle. Return to the same arranged meeting point promptly and follow your operator's instructions. Any change for a high-attendance fixture should come from the visiting club or matchday stewards, rather than from an assumed roadside collection point.
For accessible parking at the away end, aim for the north-west corner of the stadium through car park B1. Marked Blue Badge spaces are first come, first served and can fill quickly. Display your badge and contact Oxford United's Disability Liaison Officer, Tom Phillips, before travelling if you need parking advice, drop-off assistance or a suitable seating arrangement.
The North Stand away section has a raised wheelchair platform, accessible toilets with RADAR-key access and lowered refreshment counters. Visiting wheelchair tickets are arranged through your own club. Oxford railway station lists step-free access to all platforms, and the 600 bus is described as low-floor and wheelchair accessible, but check live lifts, service arrangements and the final stadium approach on the day.

For a football-first overnight stay, the Hampton by Hilton beside the Kassam is the easiest base. You can walk to the game without arranging another journey, although the surrounding Ozone leisure area is not Oxford's best place for an evening out. The nearby Holiday Inn Express also advertises guest parking, but requires vehicle registration at reception. If you want pubs, restaurants and more of Oxford after the match, stay around Westgate, the Castle Quarter or the centre and use the 3A or 600 corridor for the football journey. Iffley is a sensible middle ground if you prefer a quieter area along the 3A route. Check return buses carefully after evening matches rather than assuming a late service will run.
Hampton by Hilton Oxford ↗For most supporters, Iffley is the best compromise: it is materially closer to the Kassam than the city centre, has a direct 3A corridor nearby, and avoids the premium attached to central Oxford. Stay by the stadium if the match is the whole trip; stay around the Castle Quarter/Westgate if the evening matters just as much.
Central Oxford around the Castle Quarter, Westgate and George Street gives the broadest after-match choice for bars, restaurants and late-evening venues. Cowley Road is the more independent, music-and-food-led alternative and sits on the south/east side of the city, making it relevant to supporters who do not need to be beside the station.
Oxford railway station is on the western edge of the centre and is about five miles from the Kassam. The club's current guidance points supporters toward taxi or the 3A corridor; a city-centre hotel therefore makes rail arrival easy but does not remove the matchday transfer.
South-Oxford location keeps the ground materially closer than a city-centre stay.
Bear in mind: It is not beside Oxford's main nightlife; city-centre bars and restaurants still require a walk, bus or taxi.
