Matchday parking at Kenilworth Road
Set your sat-nav for an authorised car park rather than for Oak Road or the club’s Maple Road address. From the M1, older official visitors’ directions use Junction 11 and the A505 towards Luton town centre.

Your route into Kenilworth Road
Head for the Oak Road Stand, not the main reception on Maple Road. Visiting supporters normally enter from Oak Road through the distinctive entrances set between terraced houses. Follow the stand, gate and turnstile printed on your ticket, as the allocation and entrance arrangements can change between fixtures. From Luton station, walk towards the town centre, continue west across the Dunstable Road corridor and follow the signed route towards Oak Road. The town-centre route takes around 15–20 minutes. The final streets are narrow and can be busy, so reach the away entrance well before kick-off. If using the Busway, alight at Clifton Road and follow the short signed walk towards the Oak Road entrance. Accessible visitors should use the separately managed ramped route at Gate 7 only when confirmed for their ticket.
Information for fans travelling to Luton ↗Parking & park-and-ride
Use a proper car park rather than hunt for a free street near Oak Road. Kenilworth Road sits in residential Bury Park, with permit bays, short-stay spaces and a matchday closure. Booking is optional at the main public car parks, but arrive early. Crawley Road car park (LU1 1HT) is the strongest lower-cost choice on a normal weekend. It has 165 spaces, opens 24 hours and costs £3 all day on Saturday or £2 on Sunday and bank holidays. Allow around 20 minutes to walk to Oak Road, plus time for crowds. We could not confirm a dependable unrestricted residential bay for a full Saturday football visit. Council tariff 9 covers Kenilworth, Oak, Crawley, Ash and Bury Park Road, but its paid bays have a two-hour daytime limit. Those bays are free on Sundays and after 6pm, yet residents-only, yellow lines and closures remain separate restrictions. If Crawley Road is full, use Luton Midland Road station car park: APCOA charges £4 for a weekend day, with 24-hour access. Vicarage Street (LU1 3HZ) is another council fallback at £3.20 all day Saturday or £2 on Sundays, though the walk is longer. Both are preferable to circling Bury Park. Allow at least four hours overall for arrival, the walk, the match and the return. Get there roughly 75–90 minutes before kick-off. Beech Hill and Birch Link car parks are not football alternatives because both impose a two-hour daytime maximum. Sainsbury’s and Lidl parking is for customers with limited stays, not an assumed football entitlement. For evening matches, calculate the correct car-park tariff across 6pm instead of assuming daytime prices cover the whole stay. Power Court’s old free midweek permit scheme appears in historical visiting guides, but 2026 construction means its availability is not confirmed. The 120 Hazelbury Crescent public bays are unavailable on matchdays.

Set your sat-nav for an authorised car park rather than for Oak Road or the club’s Maple Road address. From the M1, older official visitors’ directions use Junction 11 and the A505 towards Luton town centre. Roadworks and traffic around Bury Park can slow the final approach.
Do not try to drive to the away turnstiles. Oak Road closes to ordinary vehicles on matchdays, and Bury Park has narrow streets, heavy local traffic and residential parking controls. The council has also announced stricter pavement and crossing enforcement.
The previously proposed Bury Park red route was put on hold in October 2026 pending further assessment. Other traffic and parking measures are proceeding, so check the signs and current roadworks rather than treating an earlier proposal as an active road closure.

Where to stay
Stay near Luton railway station or the town centre if you want an uncomplicated overnight football trip. The station, restaurants and shops are together, and you can usually reach Kenilworth Road in about 15–20 minutes on foot. This is a better all-round base than searching for accommodation in the narrow streets around the stadium. The Mill Street and Bute Street side of central Luton is especially convenient for rail arrivals. It also keeps the Busway interchange close, so you can choose between walking and a short bus journey to Clifton Road. Remember that the former Bute Street Shoppers car park has been redeveloped. Airport hotels may be useful for flights or an early departure, but are less convenient for the Oak Road away end. Check the extra rail, bus or taxi journey before booking. Hotel prices are fixture-sensitive, so avoid treating historic sample rates as live prices.
Luton (LUT) station information ↗Base yourself in central Luton, ideally around Luton Station/Mill Street rather than immediately beside Kenilworth Road. From the station area the ground is roughly a 15–20 minute walk, with the Busway another option. Spark by Hilton Luton is particularly well placed because it is by the station and mapped at about 13 minutes on foot from the stadium.
For the evening
For drinks, food and a later evening, the town-centre side of the station is the stronger base. Bute Street, Guildford Street and the St George's Square/The Galaxy area contain the useful cluster. The George II on Bute Street is particularly relevant to a football trip because it explicitly identifies itself with Luton Town supporters and matchdays.
For the train
Luton Station is the key arrival point. Kenilworth Road is around a 15–20 minute walk from the station; Busway services also run from the interchange towards Clifton Road by the ground. A central hotel means the post-match return is a straightforward walk back towards the station rather than a separate transfer to the airport hotel strip.
