FIXTURE STORY

FOLLOW LEICESTER CITY TO PLYMOUTH ARGYLE

This fixture is still months away, on 9 February. Today's table is useful background, but it is not a prediction of the positions either side will hold on matchday. If Leicester City are involved in the promotion picture by then, this could be an away result with real weight behind it.

Over their last five recorded league games, Plymouth Argyle have taken six points from a possible fifteen: two wins and three defeats. Those are results available now; the form heading into this fixture may be very different.

Leicester City are 10th in League One after 10 league games, with 15 points. The pre-season outlook had them down as promotion favourites. They have ground to make up on that early ambition.

Plymouth Argyle are 5th in League One after 12 league games, with 19 points. They started the campaign regarded as promotion and play-off contenders.

The destination is Home Park in Plymouth. Work back from kick-off when deciding whether this is a day trip or a night away. For the best all-round balance, stay in the city centre between Plymouth station and the Barbican/Hoe. Copthorne is the most match-convenient full-service city-centre choice in the researched shortlist; Leonardo gives the best overall balance of rail access, current guest evidence and price; Crowne Plaza is the stronger base if the evening on the Hoe/Barbican matters more than minimising the walk to Home Park. Check the matchday travel arrangements again nearer the fixture.

For Leicester City supporters, the point of the trip is being there for the team. Once tickets and kick-off are confirmed, work out whether the journey home leaves time for a meal or a drink, or whether a night away makes the better day of it.

Table and form checked 22 October.

Leonardo Hotel Plymouth

Leonardo Hotel Plymouth

City centre / Exeter Street

The best overall choice for most supporters rather than the nearest bed to the turnstiles. Leonardo combines a straightforward rail arrival, easy access to the Barbican and city centre, a large current guest-review base and a sensible sampled price. Booking.com returned 8.4/10 from 6,715 reviews during the live checks; Tripadvisor returned 4.0/5 from 4,254 reviews.

  • Official hotel information puts Plymouth station about a 10-minute walk away.
  • Official Leonardo information also puts the Barbican at about a 10-minute walk, giving supporters useful post-match food and drink without staying at the waterfront itself.
The match journey

Approximate supporter walking time based on the listed Home Park distance and city geography, not turn-by-turn live routing. The route heads north through the city/station side towards Central Park; a short taxi is an easy fallback.

The trade-off

At roughly 1.4 miles from Home Park as a market-listed distance, it is a longer walk than Copthorne; allow roughly half an hour on foot rather than treating it as a stadium hotel.

Leonardo Hotel Plymouth

City centre / Exeter Street

Our view

The best overall choice for most supporters rather than the nearest bed to the turnstiles. Leonardo combines a straightforward rail arrival, easy access to the Barbican and city centre, a large current guest-review base and a sensible sampled price. Booking.com returned 8.4/10 from 6,715 reviews during the live checks; Tripadvisor returned 4.0/5 from 4,254 reviews. Recent feedback still shows occasional service or maintenance lapses, so it is not presented as flawless.

Why it suits this trip

  • Official hotel information puts Plymouth station about a 10-minute walk away.
  • Official Leonardo information also puts the Barbican at about a 10-minute walk, giving supporters useful post-match food and drink without staying at the waterfront itself.
  • The sampled baseline was materially cheaper than Crowne Plaza while retaining a stronger current review profile than several older central hotels.
  • Air-conditioned modern rooms are a useful practical advantage over Copthorne during warmer fixtures.

Getting to the ground

Approximate supporter walking time based on the listed Home Park distance and city geography, not turn-by-turn live routing. The route heads north through the city/station side towards Central Park; a short taxi is an easy fallback.

Pubs and the evening

Leonardo's own Plymouth information describes the Barbican as about a 10-minute walk. Visit Plymouth identifies the historic Barbican and Sutton Harbour as a core evening area for pubs, bars and cocktail venues.

Arriving by train

Official Leonardo directions state Plymouth Train Station is about a 10-minute walk. The hotel's accessibility statement notes a gradual-to-medium hill on the station route.

The trade-offs

  • At roughly 1.4 miles from Home Park as a market-listed distance, it is a longer walk than Copthorne; allow roughly half an hour on foot rather than treating it as a stadium hotel.
  • Parking is off-site/adjacent rather than a simple hotel-owned forecourt, and the official directions list different car parks with opening-hour restrictions.
  • Recent 2026 Tripadvisor reviews include isolated but material service/room-readiness complaints alongside the stronger positive pattern.

Research price context

Typically around £70–£90 midweek and £80–£115 on the sampled Saturdays. The three-date averages were roughly £80 midweek and £92 at weekends.

Copthorne Hotel Plymouth

Copthorne Hotel Plymouth

North city centre / Armada Way

The closest practical full-service city-centre choice in this research. Booking.com's Home Park landmark page places Copthorne about 1.2 miles from the stadium, and its Armada Way position keeps rail arrival and the walk north towards Central Park relatively straightforward.

  • It remains in the city centre rather than isolating supporters in a purely residential stadium area.
  • The official hotel site has on-site private parking, subject to availability, which is useful for driving supporters.
The match journey

Booking.com's Home Park landmark page lists Copthorne at about 1.2 miles from the stadium. The walking time is an approximate pace-based estimate rather than live turn-by-turn routing.

The trade-off

Rooms and bathrooms are frequently described as dated compared with newer competitors.

WHY STAY HERE?

Copthorne Hotel Plymouth

North city centre / Armada Way

Our view

The closest practical full-service city-centre choice in this research. Booking.com's Home Park landmark page places Copthorne about 1.2 miles from the stadium, and its Armada Way position keeps rail arrival and the walk north towards Central Park relatively straightforward. The value is often good, but this is an older hotel product: Tripadvisor's current evidence repeatedly mentions dated rooms and a lack of air conditioning, particularly during hot weather.

Why it suits this trip

  • Booking.com lists the hotel about 1.2 miles from Home Park.
  • It remains in the city centre rather than isolating supporters in a purely residential stadium area.
  • The official hotel site has on-site private parking, subject to availability, which is useful for driving supporters.
  • Sampled prices were the lowest average of the three primary selections without dropping to a poorly reviewed budget property.

Getting to the ground

Booking.com's Home Park landmark page lists Copthorne at about 1.2 miles from the stadium. The walking time is an approximate pace-based estimate rather than live turn-by-turn routing.

Pubs and the evening

The official hotel site describes the Barbican and Mayflower Steps as a short walk away. It is less immediately nightlife-led than Crowne Plaza's Hoe position.

Arriving by train

The north-city-centre Armada Way position is convenient for rail arrivals and keeps the station between the hotel and Home Park. No exact station walk time is asserted because the researched official source did not provide one.

The trade-offs

  • Rooms and bathrooms are frequently described as dated compared with newer competitors.
  • The absence of air conditioning is a meaningful warm-weather weakness and appears repeatedly in 2026 reviews.
  • It is better placed for the ground than for the Barbican/Hoe nightlife; supporters wanting a fuller evening may prefer Leonardo or Crowne Plaza.

Research price context

Typically about £55–£100 midweek and £70–£85 on the sampled Saturdays. The averages were roughly £76 midweek and £75 at weekends, so this sample did not show a normal weekend premium.

Crowne Plaza Plymouth by IHG

Crowne Plaza Plymouth by IHG

Plymouth Hoe / south city centre

The best fit when the supporter wants the match followed by a proper Plymouth evening. The hotel is on the Hoe edge, close to the Barbican/Sutton Harbour nightlife area identified by Visit Plymouth, and it has its own bar, restaurant, pool and gym. Booking.com returned 8.2/10 from 3,267 reviews and Tripadvisor 3.9/5 from 1,347.

  • Strongest position of the primary choices for the Hoe, Barbican and Sutton Harbour evening.
  • On-site Drakes Bar & Lounge and a penthouse restaurant give a fallback if supporters do not want to head out again.
The match journey

A third-party hotel-distance listing places Home Park about 2.7 km away in a straight line, broadly 1.7 miles. The walking time is an approximate pace-based estimate; this is the least ground-convenient of the primary three.

The trade-off

Longest walk to Home Park of the three primary selections; a post-match taxi may appeal in poor weather.

WHY STAY HERE?

Crowne Plaza Plymouth by IHG

Plymouth Hoe / south city centre

Our view

The best fit when the supporter wants the match followed by a proper Plymouth evening. The hotel is on the Hoe edge, close to the Barbican/Sutton Harbour nightlife area identified by Visit Plymouth, and it has its own bar, restaurant, pool and gym. Booking.com returned 8.2/10 from 3,267 reviews and Tripadvisor 3.9/5 from 1,347. It costs more than Leonardo or Copthorne in the normal sample and makes the Home Park walk longer, so it wins on evening location rather than match convenience or value.

Why it suits this trip

  • Strongest position of the primary choices for the Hoe, Barbican and Sutton Harbour evening.
  • On-site Drakes Bar & Lounge and a penthouse restaurant give a fallback if supporters do not want to head out again.
  • Recent reviews repeatedly praise the central location and staff.
  • Larger full-service facilities suit supporters turning the away trip into a weekend stay.

Getting to the ground

A third-party hotel-distance listing places Home Park about 2.7 km away in a straight line, broadly 1.7 miles. The walking time is an approximate pace-based estimate; this is the least ground-convenient of the primary three.

Pubs and the evening

Visit Plymouth highlights the historic Barbican and Sutton Harbour for bars and cocktail venues, while the hotel itself overlooks Plymouth Hoe. This is the clearest choice if the evening location takes priority over the shortest stadium walk.

Arriving by train

Plymouth station is the relevant rail arrival point, but Crowne Plaza is farther south than Leonardo or Copthorne. Allow extra city-centre walking or use a short taxi, particularly with luggage.

The trade-offs

  • Longest walk to Home Park of the three primary selections; a post-match taxi may appeal in poor weather.
  • Highest average sampled price of the primary shortlist.
  • IHG lists on-site parking at £16.50 per day, first come first served.
  • Recent reviews contain some maintenance, room-condition and noise complaints despite the generally positive location/service pattern.

Research price context

Typically around £100–£125 midweek and roughly £95–£145 on the sampled Saturdays. The averages were about £110 midweek and £118 at weekends, with noticeable date-to-date volatility.

YOUR AWAY DAY · Home Park

The ground

Leicester City at Plymouth Argyle

The ground mixes three early-2000s stands with the redeveloped Mayflower side and sits beside Central Park. Its strongest identity cues are not architectural grandeur so much as accumulated memory: the Devonport End noise, wartime rebuilding, the Mayflower naming, the Jack Leslie statue and a site history that once included everything from whippet racing to huge cup crowds.

Recorded capacity
17,900

Views from the away section

Away stand is covered with generally good sightlines.

Why the ground matters

Home Park is the club's fixed geographical anchor. It has been used by Argyle since 1901, survived wartime destruction and multiple rebuilding phases, and is formally recognised as a community asset. Unlike a new out-of-town bowl, its history lets several generations point to essentially the same patch of Plymouth as 'Argyle'.

Devonport End

Current vocal home end; the club singles out Block 3 for atmosphere.

Mayflower side / grandstand

The name reinforces the city's defining historical symbol and the modern ground redevelopment completed the long-unfinished side of the stadium.

Jack Leslie statue

Located outside Home Park and easy for a visitor to miss if entering elsewhere; worth seeking out for the story it represents.

Atmosphere & acoustics

Leicester City at Plymouth Argyle

Devonport/home support can be very vocal; long-distance visitors often bring a strong following.

Semper Fidelis

Long-standing entrance/theme march; the title's Exeter civic association adds an accidental derby joke.

The Janner Song

Local-identity anthem played before home matches in the modern era, written by Argyle supporter Rick O'Shay.

Green Army / green-and-white chants

The simplest terrace language follows the colour identity rather than a complicated club myth.

Pilgrim Pete's pre-match circuit and comedy trip

Family-facing mascot routine with enough longevity to count as recognisable matchday theatre.

The vocal Devonport End

Block 3 is the current focal point for singing home support.

Food & drink

Leicester City at Plymouth Argyle

Plymouth station is the normal rail meeting point, with Home Park around 15–20 minutes away on foot through Central Park and the Barn Park End used for visiting supporters. The most dependable pre-match option is the Biffa Fan Zone: Plymouth explicitly opens it to home and away ticket-holders, with food, drink and live sport.

Food and drink around the ground

The Britannia is the closest conventional pub and regularly admits away fans, but expect door control and queues; Hyde Park Social Club is a calmer alternative with a paid non-member pass. Peverell and Mutley add Roam’s beer-and-pizza taproom and Perillas for fish and chips, while city-centre arrivals can eat at Early Bird or grab an Ivor Dewdney pasty before walking up.

For an overnight trip, the Barbican/Hoe area gives the best evening food and drink, including Cap’n Jaspers and Harbourside. Inside Home Park, current kiosks sell pasties, burgers and vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free options. For the Devon derby, police/club advice overrides the general pub list and visitors are told to head straight to the stadium.

Biffa Fan Zone

The safest all-round choice at Home Park. Plymouth explicitly opens the Biffa Fan Zone to both home and away ticket-holders, with food stalls, drinks, live sport and family activities before kick-off.

Milehouse has council-designated disabled bays, while a limited number of club-controlled accessible spaces are allocated separately. Do not assume a reserved parking space is available on arrival. Plymouth station is step-free to its platforms, but the walk through Central Park climbs a hill; ask for suitable drop-off and entrance advice if that is a problem.

YOUR AWAY DAY · Home Park

Before the match

Leicester City at Plymouth Argyle

Plymouth railway station is the best arrival point for Home Park. The club describes a paved walk of about 20 minutes through Central Park, including a steep uphill section. Follow the park route towards the stadium and leave extra time if you have luggage or walk slowly. Plymouth station has lifts and step-free access to all platforms, but that does not make the walk to Home Park level.

Biffa Fan Zone

The safest all-round choice at Home Park. Plymouth explicitly opens the Biffa Fan Zone to both home and away ticket-holders, with food stalls, drinks, live sport and family activities before kick-off.

YOUR AWAY DAY · Home Park

Parking

Leicester City at Plymouth Argyle

Try the free Milehouse Park & Ride beside Home Park only if you can arrive very early. It is the easiest parking for the stadium, but it fills rapidly on matchdays. Booking is advisable if you are travelling a long way and cannot risk searching for another space. Milehouse is on Outland Road, PL2 3DA. Plymouth City Council confirms that public bays are free and the site opens around the clock.

Parking & park-and-ride

The 88 green bays are reserved for Argyle on matchdays, so use only a bay available to the public. The club's earlier guide reports the car park can be full by 10.30–11am before a 3pm kick-off. Do not make free residential parking in Peverell or Milehouse your plan. We could not confirm a named, unrestricted stretch for a whole football visit. The council publishes controlled-parking zones and warns that the maps are only indicative.

Check street signs, permit rules and any temporary restrictions rather than assuming a roadside space is legal. Arriving later? George Park & Ride, PL6 7HB, and Coypool, PL7 4TB, offer free parking with dedicated football buses. The 2026/27 adult return starts at £5 from George and £6 on other dedicated routes. You can also book an authorised private or event space through JustPark; check the price, location and booking terms for your fixture.

Allow at least four hours for a normal visit, including both walks, entry and the post-match crowd. Coypool locks at 10pm, so consider your return time for evening games. Western Approach is a paid city-centre fallback, with an all-day tariff of £6.50; it means a longer walk or a local bus journey rather than parking at the ground.

Worth knowing

Leicester City at Plymouth Argyle

For a visiting supporter, the point is not simply that Home Park is far away. The interesting bits are the local markers that explain why Argyle feels different from a generic EFL trip: maritime/Pilgrim symbolism, a broad south-west support base, a vocal Devonport End, the Jack Leslie statue and songs that are overtly about Plymouth identity.

A detail worth noticing

Home Park's wartime damage links it directly to the Plymouth Blitz rather than to an isolated football disaster.

Asset of Community Value status reflects organised supporter concern over preserving the ground's role in local life.

Coaches

Away coaches

If you travel with an organised supporters' coach, use the drop-off and collection instructions supplied by your operator. Argyle's older coach guide describes steward-directed unloading near Home Park and collecting supporters by the away end, but that is not a confirmed arrangement for every 2026/27 match. Do not make your own way to an assumed collection point.

There is no general visiting-coach parking at the stadium in that guide. Organisers needing somewhere to leave a coach should arrange it separately with an authorised operator. Plymouth City Council identifies the Pavilions and Stagecoach depot as coach-parking options, with very limited spaces at Plymouth Coach Station.

Accessibility

Accessible journeys

Arrange away accessibility requirements through your own ticket office and Plymouth Argyle before travelling. The Barn Park End has 28 pitch-level wheelchair places for visiting fans, but the precise position and companion seating should be confirmed when booking. Argyle's Disability Liaison Officer can be contacted at accessibility@pafc.co.uk.

After the match

After the match

If you parked at Milehouse, return by the pedestrian routes indicated by stewards and expect queues onto Outland Road. The car park is free, but it is beside the stadium and shared with other visitors, so a quick getaway is not assured. Do not arrange an immediate taxi collection beside the ground.

If you used George or Coypool, head for the signed dedicated matchday bus stop and allow for queues. The operator's 2026/27 service includes return journeys, but check the last bus for your fixture. Rail travellers should leave enough time for the uphill route in reverse through Central Park and for station access.

From Milehouse
Use steward-directed pedestrian routes and allow for car park and Outland Road queues
From park-and-ride
Check dedicated football bus pick-up and last service for the fixture
Coypool closing
Car park locks at 10pm
Return to railway station
Central Park route approx 15–20 minutes; allow extra matchday buffer

Where to stay

Stay around Plymouth station or the northern city centre if the football journey matters most. You can walk to Home Park through Central Park, then return to a wider choice of places to eat and drink after the game. This is more useful than booking a room solely for proximity to the stadium.

Choose the Barbican or the Hoe if you are making a weekend of the trip and want the waterfront and evening out. They are farther from Home Park, so plan an additional walk, bus or taxi after the match. Check the return rail arrangements before deciding whether an overnight stay is worthwhile.

Best football base
Plymouth station/northern city centre for walking access to Home Park and rail
Best night-out base
The Barbican and Hoe waterfront, further from stadium
Stadium neighbourhood
Milehouse beside Central Park, rather than the main waterfront nightlife area

AWAY-DAY OVERVIEW

Before you head to the ground

Plymouth station is the normal rail meeting point, with Home Park around 15–20 minutes away on foot through Central Park and the Barn Park End used for visiting supporters.

Read full overview Hide full overview

Plymouth station is the normal rail meeting point, with Home Park around 15–20 minutes away on foot through Central Park and the Barn Park End used for visiting supporters. The most dependable pre-match option is the Biffa Fan Zone: Plymouth explicitly opens it to home and away ticket-holders, with food, drink and live sport.

PUB / BAR

Biffa Fan Zone

Mayflower Quarter, Home Park, Plymouth, PL2 3DQ
0 min walkAway fans welcomeFamily friendlyFood available
BEST FORsafest ground-side option · families · food and drink together
MATCHDAY INTELThe safest all-round choice at Home Park. Plymouth explicitly opens the Biffa Fan Zone to both home and away ticket-holders, with food stalls, drinks, live sport and family activities before kick-off.
WORTH KNOWINGFor a standard 3pm kick-off it opens from noon. Traders vary by fixture, so treat specific dishes as rotating rather than guaranteed.
PUB / BAR

The Britannia Inn

1 Wolseley Road, Milehouse, Plymouth, PL2 3AA
7 min walkAway access: checkFood available
BEST FORclosest conventional away pub · groups · food
MATCHDAY INTELThe standard near-ground away pub: large, cheap and repeatedly used by visiting supporters. It sits on the walk from the station and is close enough to leave late, but matchday entry is commonly controlled by door staff.
WORTH KNOWINGExpect queues and controlled admission. Older supporter guidance says singing can lead to ejection; no current venue-specific colours rule was found.
PUB / BAR

Hyde Park Social Club

5 St Gabriel's Avenue, Peverell, Plymouth, PL3 4JQ
12 min walkAway access: check
BEST FORgroups · sports TV · alternative near ground
MATCHDAY INTELA calmer alternative across Central Park. Visiting guides repeatedly send away fans here, and the club currently allows non-members to buy a £3 weekly pass, making access clearer than at many private clubs.
WORTH KNOWINGFood provision is less clearly documented than the bar. For coach breakfasts or a large group, contact the club before travelling rather than assuming service.
PUB / BAR

Roam Brewing Company Taproom

New Victoria House, Weston Park Road, Peverell, Plymouth, PL3 4NU
15 min walkAway access: checkFamily friendlyFood available
BEST FORcraft beer · pizza · early groups avoiding football pubs
MATCHDAY INTELThe best beer-and-food detour around Peverell. Roam brews on site and serves fresh sourdough pizza, opening from noon on Saturdays; it is public and family-friendly, though no football-specific away policy is published.
WORTH KNOWINGThis is not a designated away pub. Use it as a normal public taproom and leave time for the walk across Peverell/Central Park to Home Park.
PUB / BAR

The Cherry Tree Pennycross

291 Ham Drive, Plymouth, PL2 3NH
13 min walkAway access: checkFamily friendly
BEST FORalternative away pub · sports TV · supporters approaching from north
MATCHDAY INTELA useful north-of-ground alternative when the Britannia is rammed. Visiting guides say away fans are welcome, and current CAMRA confirms a live community pub with sport, real ale and family facilities.
WORTH KNOWINGCurrent CAMRA says no food is served, despite other listings still advertising meals. Treat it as a pub stop and eat elsewhere unless the venue confirms otherwise.
PUB / BAR

Queens Dock Inn

57 Charlotte Street, Plymouth, PL2 1RL
Away access: checkFamily friendly
BEST FORwest-side pub crawl · alternative to Milehouse
MATCHDAY INTELA west-side alternative in the same Charlotte Street cluster as the Three Ferrets. Current football guidance includes it for visiting supporters, while fresh licensing and CAMRA records confirm the pub remains open.
WORTH KNOWINGAway admission is guide-reported rather than a published house policy. It is not on the straightforward Plymouth-station-to-Home-Park route.
PUB / BAR

The Three Ferrets

38 Charlotte Street, Plymouth, PL2 1RJ
Away access: checkFamily friendly
BEST FORDevonport drink · smaller groups · weekend atmosphere
MATCHDAY INTELA back-street Devonport option for supporters avoiding the busy Milehouse route. It remains open, shows sport and appears in current away-pub guidance, but the football welcome is guide evidence rather than a house guarantee.
WORTH KNOWINGNo current football-colours policy was found. It is off the direct station-to-ground route, so budget the extra movement back to Home Park.
PUB / BAR

The Ford Inn

155 Alexandra Road, Ford, Plymouth, PL2 1JY
Away access: check
BEST FORwest-side alternative · families before evening
MATCHDAY INTELAnother west-side alternative rather than a default rail-arrival pub. Current football guidance includes it for away supporters, while CAMRA and a 2026 hygiene inspection confirm the Ford Inn remains active.
WORTH KNOWINGNo current menu or football-colours policy was found. Its location makes sense mainly for supporters already on the Devonport/Ford side of Plymouth.

WORTH KNOWINGThe detailed prices come from the 2025/26 official guide, not a published 2026/27 menu. A recent disabled-away-fan report found some pasties and pies insufficiently hot.

What to eatFish and chips, cod, haddock, scampi, battered sausage and gluten-free options; portion size and freshly cooked fish are recurring supporter-review themes.

The strongest current near-ground chippy lead. Francines sits on North Prospect Road, under a mile from Home Park, with fresh-cooked fish, large portions and gluten-free choices; the catch is a short Saturday lunch window.

BEST FORfish and chips · early lunch · supporters approaching from north
WORTH KNOWINGCurrent listings put Saturday lunch around 11:30–13:30/14:00 before reopening at 16:00. For a 3pm game, order early rather than arriving at 2pm.

What to eatFresh Devon-coast fish and chips from a long-established family business, with dine-in and takeaway service.

A better sit-down chippy option for supporters using Mutley or Peverell. Perillas is a long-running family business serving Devon-coast fish, and current listings show Saturday service through the afternoon rather than a short lunch-only window.

BEST FORearly train arrivals · brunch · vegetarian and vegan choice
WORTH KNOWINGThe Mayflower Street restaurant does not take bookings and can be busy. The Mutley site is now mainly a takeaway bakery/deli, so use Mayflower Street for brunch.

What to eatHand-crimped traditional beef, pepper, cheese-and-onion and vegan vegetable pasties from a Plymouth family business dating to 1935.

For a genuinely Plymouth matchday bite, an Ivor Dewdney pasty is the obvious local choice. The city-centre shop sells the firm’s hand-crimped traditional, pepper, cheese-and-onion and vegan vegetable pasties.

BEST FORPlymouth speciality · train arrivals · quick takeaway
WORTH KNOWINGOlder supporter reports mention Ivor Dewdney vans by Central Park, but current van operation was not verified. The fixed Cornwall Street shop is the safer recommendation.

What to eatBreakfasts, burgers, hot rolls and its famous long hot-dog style specials; open early enough for a substantial pre-match breakfast.

For supporters staying around the Barbican, Cap’n Jaspers is the characterful local breakfast-and-burger stop rather than another chain. It opens early, handles groups and sits directly on the waterfront.

Away access: checkFamily friendlyFood available
BEST FORovernight supporters · breakfast · Barbican day-out
WORTH KNOWINGThe Barbican is well away from Home Park, so this works for an overnight or early arrival. Leave substantial travel time before kick-off.

fish and chips and local seafoodrestaurant and takeaway
What to eatTraditional fish and chips, fresh local seafood, restaurant seating, takeaway and children's options; a stronger proper-meal choice than eating from a matchday kiosk.

The best-supported fish-and-chip choice for an overnight Barbican stay: restaurant or takeaway, local seafood, children’s options and long Saturday opening. It is for making a day of Plymouth, not rushing to the turnstiles.

Away access: checkFamily friendlyFood available
BEST FORovernight supporters · fish and chips · families
WORTH KNOWINGThis is well south of Home Park. Build in time to return towards the station/Central Park before kick-off rather than treating it as a ground-side chippy.
